My husband works for Blue Letter Bible and has for 10+ years as a programmer/developer!!! Almost the entire staff, including ourselves helped set up/move their new office in South Carolina!!! I'm going to share this video with him!!!
Oh my…I actually had no idea BLB was in SC. I’m in the Charleston area, believe it or not. What a small world. Where in SC is the team? I just made a video about the amazing features of the phone app as well. Check it out. Also, I’m a Christian Executive Coach and do a ton of pro bono work (it’s a ministry as much as it is a business). I would love to give back to the BLB team. I imagine I could coach the leadership team full time and not even scratch the surface of what I’ve received from this amazing tool. Thanks for taking a moment to write.
I wrote down the informaiton you just sent @hispropheticvoice777 and deleted it from the comments so others don't see it. Thanks for sending it. Let me know what he thinks about the video. Perhaps I can do an informational interview about his work, to let more people know about this mind blowing app his team created. Look at the comments I have been receiving from this one video. Really amazing -- it's God's work.
@@Motivationeer AWESOME video - thank you so much for sharing! Any time you are in the Greenville area, I would love to give you a tour of our Blue Letter Bible HQ on Pelham road just north of Interstate 85. I sent you a message via the "Contact" form on your website with my contact information if you have any Blue Letter Bible questions or suggestions you would like to share - thanks again!
It’s interesting you mentioned looking up passages in church. I do as well, and since it’s so easy to reference all the locations for each Greek word, I quickly get lost in my own study, sitting there in church. Thanks for the comment.
I’m really glad to hear it. Thanks for the comment. Please check out the video I posted recently on using the Blue Letter Bible phone app. I know you’ll love that as well.
Forget Logos, this is better and it’s free! Amazing! The Interlinear resources are outstanding, and so easy to use. Thanks for the coaching on how to use it.
I appreciate the feedback, @ReneDiazJD. I do have close friends that are diehard Logos fans but the shear number of features BLB has, it's price point (free!) and it's constant new features it adds...it's hard to compete with it.
Another excellent feature that it works just as well on the phone app. 40 years ago what I did with paper concordance takes me minutes instead of an hour.
Yes, I completely agree. I think it might be time for me to create a video about how to use the phone app. There are a couple of features I use while sitting in church on Sundays, because of their convenience.
Wow, I just looked it up and there is also one that is for study. It has a devotional and it also offers free courses! Thank you this is truly a diamond in the rough.
Thanks for the comment and great energy. Tell me what you mean by “there is also one for study.” That doesn’t sound immediately familiar. (And I love learning new tricks with this amazing tool).
Yes ! I discovered the BLB many years ago. There are so many ways it can be used to understand and go deeper into God's Word. Fact checking a quote I've heard someone use is interesting... 🌷
The way you worded this makes me think I am missing a feature of the app. What do you mean by "fast checking a quote"? Are you saying you just look up the Bible verse quickly to see if the passage quoted is accurate?
@@Motivationeer yes , for example.. "cleanliness is next to godliness" That phrase is not listed in the kjv bible. Neither is the combination of words "next to godliness". However, if I do a word search on just the word " godliness" I find 15 verses where it is used. Good for doing word studies ! I was curious about what the four winds represented in the bible, so I looked up east wind, north wind, south wind and west wind. Try it, read the verses and notice what they tell you about the east wind in particular..lol I love dissecting and discovering jewels in God's word 🌷
I'm glad you agree, Sylvia. I recently did a video about how to use the Blue Letter Bible cell phone app as well. Please check it out. It's useful when sitting in church and checking background information coming from the pulpit.
I’ve been using BLB for about 20 years. I always have it open on my iPhone and iPad as I read and study the Bible or a book. Over the years I have taken tens of thousands of notes using the app.
I so agree with the value of this amazing tool. It has helped me connect the dots. I would love any further teaching on the BLB that you would be willing to produce. Thank you!
I LOVE IT! On line I read some of the sermons of preachers now in in heaven! Run topics and words and find scriptures with the small words throughout the Bible! Preachers can't go wrong with this Online Bible!
Me as well. I'll be doing more of these in the future. I just wanted to post about Matthew Henry and the ability this app gives us to find the Greek word across the rest of the New Testament. Appreciate the comment @jimmytaylor1570.
I use the Blue Letter Bible app on my phone and tablet. 08:05 I literally, just minutes before watching this video, used the Matthew Henry commentary while working on my Sunday School lesson for this mornings adult class. I use e-Sword on my computer, but I may have to look into BBB for there as well for what he has shown in this video.
Thanks for sharing these cool little hugs from God. Matthew Henry has changed the way I see God’s word…and I never knew about him until the BLB! Appreciate it.
@@Motivationeer BBN out of Charolette NC used to carry Great Christians, and they had the life of Matthew Henry years ago. That’s where I first learned of him, George Whitfield, and many many others. When I saw his commentary available in both e-Sword and Blue Letter, I tapped to add immediately.
Thanks so much. I looked at Logos and it seemed overwhelming. I'm not a pastor but I go out soul-winning for my church. I will try the blue letter Bible software.
That means a lot...thanks @52bbibbs. Here's a verse for you: Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
I’m glad to hear you say that. I’ve used BLB for years, including the features covered in this video, and recently started to teach myself Logos. Maybe because I’m so familiar with to navigate BLB, but I find Logos harder to navigate than Logos. I do appreciate how Logos Scripture references in other books in my library to my primary Bible.
@@Motivationeer I’ve been using BLB for about 15 years, but Logos for only about 6 months, so I would say BLB is easier. However, I’ve created extensive notes in BLB, and I’ve asked them to be able to “lock” in the “verse” sequence in notes so I can explore my notes and surrounding notes, but after reviewing any note BLB reverts back to its default sequence.
Thanks for this. I use Bible Hub because I can figure out how, but wondered about Blue Letter, because on the app it's just a zillion little symbols -so I haven't gotten around to deciphering them. This is a great start, plus it would make a difference for me to look at it on a full size computer.
I'm glad you found it helpful. One of my latest videos was how to use the phone app. In that video I decipher the little icons and I show you where to find the button that describes each icon. Here is a link to that new video if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/7reo_hvdwNc/v-deo.html
This is really helpful, thank you so much! Would love to hear what you have to say about Matthew Henry. Will definitely be using this resource now all because of you and your informative video. Praise the Lord!
Thanks @Zephulastar…I appreciate it. While MH can be hard to read at first, he is nothing like Shakespeare. The more you read, the more nuance you see in his style. He is brilliant. I know of no other commentator who covers every verse in depth, tying in deep concepts that make me wonder how he could do this back in the late 1600’s…simply amazing. My only drawback is his stance on Jesus and Michael being one and the same. Yeah, sounds weird. He makes a case for it and, from what I understand, this is a Church of England belief (Anglican)
Thanks @FrankO1000. I’m so surprised by e reception of this video. I just posted one about the BLB iPhone app. Let me know what you think. Thanks for the view and the comment.
I appreciate the feedback, @sdhute. I'm going to be doing one for the cell phone app in the near future. It has some capabilities the on-line app does not. Thanks again.
Great video, thanks! any thoughts on how to document what you are learning, like if you wanted to do a blog on propitiation, or just for personal Bible study for example? I guess you could copy and paste as you go and put it in a word doc???
This is a great question. None of the great Bible software tools ever integrate a useful note-taking system (beyond highlighting passages or writing floating-notes in the margin). So, I capture what I learn in a Word document (if it is a one-off study) or an Excel sheet or OneNote, ( if it is a multi-tab complex topic.) For example, I did a deep dive into the Kings of Israel and the Kings of Judah. That was way too complex to write up in a Word Doc. So I created a multi-tab Excel spreadsheet to gather all the info I learned. (I could have done the same thing with a OneNote). Contrast this to a study I did on "accept one another." I then file these Word docs and Excel sheets into my File Explorer within a folder called "Bible". One study I am doing called "Forgiveness and Reconciliation", I create another sub-folder within the Bible folder. Here I create multiple different Word docs, downloaded PDF's from the internet, images etc. Hope this helps.
Really glad it helped! Thanks for the comment. Recently completed the cell phone version. Please give it a look and let me know if it’s also useful. Thanks again.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I’m so glad you liked it. I recently posted a new one about how to use the phone app version. I hope this also helps.
As a user of Logos, Olive Tree and BLB (app), im curious how you feel logos and possibly olive tree are not as effective in looking up and cross referencing Greek terms. I do not think you're in this, but i also don't see how it builds a better mouse trap, either. So maybe I'm overlooking something.
Thanks for the comment @erichansen9669. I appreciate it. I think I may have miscommunicated something if it came across as if I were placing BLB above other apps. I haven't used Logos or Olive Tree. I've heard great things about Logos but never really anything about Olive Tree. Is Logos also free?
Hi. I too like using the BLB. I am a retired teacher. I would lie to get present and future teachers together for mutual support and guidance. I would be interested in anything you could put together. I lead a couple of studies and serve the church in various ways so my time seems to vanish like a vapour. Thanks for whatever God directs you to do. In Christ. Glen
Thanks for the comment, Glen. Please feel free to email me at shawn@motivationeer.com and let me know more about what you had in mind. I welcome all discussions about having a teacher cohort.
I have any inquiry . I have understood how to get the translation , but then which interpretation do you zero down with . Because some greek words will have like the A . They write the word and explain B. Then B also is explained and yet B and A are really so different So how do u go about that ?
Thanks for the question, @asianzujohnson934. If I understand you correctly, you are saying: - you hover over the "Tools" button next to a verse - you then select "Interlinear" - you then select the "Reverse" tab - you then select the "Strong's" number ...and this takes you to the page where the Greek word appears at the top...am I right? Your question to me then asks, "which interpretation do I use"...right? Well, this is the same dilemma biblical Greek translators face when translating a Bible verse. This is a hurdle because the same Greek word could mean different things when used in a different context. This is also true of English words, of course. For example, someone writes a 'letter" to a friend and a word starts with the "letter" A. So, the best we can do when looking at multiple different ways a Greek word can be used in a sentence, is to carefully look at the context of what is being written. We start with: 1) how would someone of that day and time have taken the meaning of what was said? 2) what is the historical significance of what was said? 3) how does the meaning within this one verse compare with the meaning of the same word found in other verses? 4) how can I apply this meaning to my life compared to how the application would change if I used a different way to translate that word? This is not a short exercise, of course. It is a lifelong commitment to learning. I have grown in my understanding of how to view certain difficult passages. And I have come to realize some passages are not at all difficult. It is a worthy investment of our time as Jesus says in John 6:27 “Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life," We only have a certain amount of time in each day, week, month, year, season and life. Deeply grasping to understanding God's word is worth it.
For example i was studying Luke 7:35 and I was studying the word “ wisdom “ which is “ sofia “ in greek but it has meaning A and B . So which one should i take ?
See my answer to your first question. And thanks for asking such a deep and thoughtful question. One thing I forgot to mention, it helps a great deal to continually ask God for wisdom when studying His word. This is the essence of James 1:5 and Matthew 7:7-8 Thanks again.
Not that I know of, no. It is a no -profit group who has done amazing work. I love the tool. Not sure how much development is going into it, however. I usually don’t take notes in the app, however. I would love improvement in that area. Overall, huge fan of BLB. Thanks for the comment!
Wile I find this interesting, I am still too ignorant to even find this section of the very full app. I can’t even get to this cool area that you are explaining.
@@Motivationeer when I open my app it looks nothing like the page you begin with. I struggle just to transition from Bible to concordance and back, I have no idea how to get to your page.
Okay. I assume you mean you are accessing the BLB from your PC, Mac or Laptop computer. If so, just use www.blueletterbible.org/ as your link and this website of theirs is always current. Then, with that BLB tab open, right click the tab and select "Pin" to hold that BLB website link as an available tab at the top of your navigation bar. Does this help?
I only discovered (maybe three years ago) the Textus Receptus has approximately 2% more words than the original translations. From what I learned (taking the 26-week class from Dallas Theological Seminary on Textual Criticism), the additions were made because Erasmus was rushing his translations in chunks to the printer and they thought his marginal notes were also scripture. So, I agree.
@rustneversleeps01, I think you mean Neslte-Aland, right? What I failed to mention in my previous response to @lambo58 was that the Nestle-Aland (which is what the Morphographical GNT is from) appears as the Greek text above the selected verse and Textus Receptus appears below the selected verse.
From what I can tell, when we use the online version, Blue Letter Bible keeps the latest release up. I see new bells and whistles often so I feel comfortable saying they keep the latest version on the website (online) tool.
I still can’t get BLB to find an exact phrase using Booleans. For example, if I type in: walk AND in AND the AND light, it returns 12 verses besides 1 John 1:7 which is the only verse with that exact phrase. The other 11 verses have those 4 words but not in the exact sequential order : walk in the light.
I tried this on my phone and it kept having trouble. It just shuts down the app. But on my computer the following works: "walk + in + the + light". Give this a try. Let me know if it works for you as it does for me. I use NASB and it returned only four verses. I then tried it with NIV and it came back with the same four verses.
@@Motivationeer Yes, you're right. On my desk top computer I get 8 scriptures with that exact phrase in the New Testament but on my iPhone, I get 33. Thanks a lot. I think that BLB needs to update for cell phones.
Yeah. When I try to search the BLB App using this logic, the app instantly closes. This happens every time for me. Not sure what it is. I may reach out to them.
Yes, but it does have all of these: Acton, Bill Anderson, Robert Athanasius of Alexandria Bennett, Richard Bowman, Robert M. Whoa! This is interesting. Are you saying you wanted to share the app on your timeline (your own Facebook page) and Facebook deleted it from your page?
It's actually very close. But now that you mention it, it would probably be good for me to do a video about the nuances of the cell phone. If I may provide the step in the meantime, here they are: - Any verse you want to dig into, just select it by tapping anywhere on the verse - A short text list will pop up with the following chocies: Interlinear/Concordance, Bible Comparison, Cross-References, Text Commentaries, Audio/Video and Dictionaries - From here, I use the first choice the most...the Intelinear. This is where you can break down the verse word-by-word Let me know if this helps...okay?
So sorry for the terribly late reply, @anilkarki5531. I'm embarrassed. "Strong's GH" is a short way to refer to a large book called "Strong's Exhaustive Concordance." It is a massive collection of every word from the Old and New Testement showing every word that appears in the Bible. The letters "G" and "H" represent the short way of saying "Greek" and "Hebrew". That's because the first section of this massive book is a collection of all the Hebrew words. The last section all the Greek words. Thanks for the question.
I agree. I use the printed version and the digital version. Not sure why they made the 20 at all. It confused me when it was published and I never switched.
Last year I completed a great 26-session course through Dallas Theological Seminary on Textual Criticism. In that course I learned about the Textus Receptus, Erasmus and the King James Version. From what I understand (and it seems to be well-documented and familiar in the realm of textual criticism), Erasmus was racing against time (and a local pair of brother competitors) when getting his translation printed. As it turns out, the printer mistook notes in the margins of the Erasmus text as "biblical writing." This means the KJV is about 2% larger (if I remember correctly) because it also contains some of Erasmus' personl musings. @Chrsitiansstillstruggle commented below and has it right...every translation has it's errors. The good news is the errors are not weighty.
Each publishing company for their respective translation has their own selected concordance, from what I can tell. They do not all have Strong's. That is the great thing about the Blue Letter Bible; it has the Strong's concordance and it has the pronunciation of the original Greek or Hebrew word from the Strong's
In our career, at any given time, we are all in a state of either exploring new opportunities, designing new strategies for growth, or climbing as high as we can. I refer to these stages as Pioneer (exploring), Engineer (designing) or Mountaineer (climbing). In order to do each successfully and prediutabl;y, it requires that we deeply understand what motivates us. Most people have no clue. When I work with clients, I help them master the art of motivating themselves. This is a Motivationeer (motivating).
Jhn 20.1. ¶The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. 2Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. I loaded this verse from my blb on to my clipboard and just posted here. What's remarkable is what the verse says. This verse says Mary Magdalene arrived at the tomb when it was dark, and the tomb was empty. Don't you think that's remarkable? I thought r He was Resurrected on Sunday morning. This verse makes that tradition impossible!
Sorry it didn’t help. I did a more thorough walkthrough of the cell phone app. Please give that a look and let me know if it’s any better. Appreciate the feedback.
I appreciate the sentiment. I'm skeptical about everything. In this case, I've been using it for over a decade and just love it. No hype. No money. Just a fantastic software tool.
Great APP, but Truth is by Revelation from God through the Holy Spirit, NOT by commentaries, which are the opinions of many educators who keep SUN-day holy, rather than God's sabbaths, new moons, and holydays, which are a part of the Fourth Commandment.
Thanks for the comment and your thoughtful insight. I have found (from my own experience within God’s Word) that He has given different gifts to His children. We can find these gifts listed in Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4 and 1 Peter 4. There is teaching and exhortation (Rom 12), wisdom, knowledge and discernment (1 Cor 12) and speaking (1 Pet 4). These gifts are part of the Spirit’s working and (in my opinion) allow some to take God’s word and help the rest of His children understand it. Commentaries and profoundly important for deeper understanding. Yes, commentaries disagree at times. This, too, is from God since He calls us to be unified even though we disagree. "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law." - Deuteronomy 29:29 (NASB95)
I’m happy you all very satisfied with this Bible app. I would like to be happy as well but I can’t because first of all the scriptures are originally written in Hebrew and Aramaic. Greek and Roman was later used because they hated the Jews and only wanted their Greek, Latin languages to be spoken. They even changed The Savior’s Name Yeshua to Jesus and The Father’s Name from Yehovah to Yahweh! I don’t know how you can want to hear only part of the Truth there is no “J” in the Hebrew alphabet so, how can The Lord’s Name be Jesus?🤔 All you have to do is think. Plus ,The Blue-line Bible doesn’t have a Hebrew translation of the Bible in it. For some here who may be of the belief that the Jews/Israel has been replaced you are wrong! GOD has not broken His Covenant with His people! I like the way the app works but I want to see the Hebrew translation that calls the Father and Son in their correct Names.
I do appreciate your thoughtful reply, @Renaudio. Thank you for taking the time to respond. BTW, it is called the Blue Letter Bible...not the Blue Line Bible...just to make sure credit is given. And I understand some of what you are saying. Although I am not a Greek scholar, I do know the Greek spelling of Jesus did not include a "J" but an "I". I am sure you also realize the Qumrān sect, a Jewish monastic group who felt compelled to preserve the scriptures (and who gave us the Dead Sea Scrolls) translated the Hebrew Bible into Greek approximately 300 B.C. -- I don't think they did it because they hated the Jews. And, if I'm not mistaken, most of the Old Testament cross references we see in the New Testament were clearly taken from Septuagint (the Greek Old testament captured by the Qumrān people.) And I agree with you...I would love to see the Hebrew also captured in the BLB App, indeed. Thanks again.
When I see responses like this, though they add to the interest of a particular article or viewpoint, my devotions constantly point me back to God and away from man. So what I say is from a man; as are what others say... all from man. I have adopted a few guidelines for myself and keep them in front of me in the form of acronyms... PID and PYM (and I've not shared them with others because they require life and Spirit interpretation; otherwise they are just like the Bible... black print on white paper... objective, not necessarily, as viewed or read, quite blessed by God yet). So (and I'm way beyond my comfort zone in sharing this and realize that, the more I write, the more I may be breeding discontent... but I'll risk it this once), the PID stands for "Push It Deeper" (whatever the "it" is; black print?) and the PYM is something I actually "took" from a pastor because I needed to have something that I'd been "toying with", and practicing, in my own times with God's word, and stands for "Park Your Mind". I really do try to get stuff beyond my mind in the hopes that "it" (God's word) does not take root there and I characteristically mentally click the "Got It" button with my imaginary "mouse" (or the "OK" button with same), and move on before I have the inclination or the chance, to practice the PID thing mentioned above. Whew! What a weird sensation to finally put some words to these "things" I've been practicing! PID and PYM... fabulous for myself. I somehow recall that someone once said that "the mind is the Devil's playground." Yeah, I believe that's true. So, the Blue Letter Bible app and a lot of other digital content, while it has its place, will be adding to my mental resource (and, yes, I will look at and use it at some point in the near future, perhaps, even, today, after I finish this reply), but you can be sure that I am enjoying the PID and PYM process while using the App. Now, where does it go after PYM and PID? Hopefully, the "deeper" means that the "manna" goes to your human spirit that is now made alive by Christ's work on the Cross... atonement made, spirit made alive, new gifts of grace, new heart plus a bunch of Ephesians 2 gifts, and the indwelling Holy Spirit (preaching to the choir, no? No doubt.). Now what? Normally, you just wait and praise (another acronym here... PPWT&R... pray, praise, worship, thanksgiving & rejoicing). Pray that God blesses what you've turned over to Him and blesses it... even to the allowing of your mind to share some of what He shows you (gives you some understanding?). More likely though, much of what He shares with you is for you alone... to grow you and to bring you more into line with identification with Christ... something called, sanctification. Oh wait! I've gone way too far in my reply. All that stuff to say this... Scripture interprets Scripture and God gave us the Scripture and only He can grant understanding of it and, certainly, application of it. I know this is "preaching to the choir" stuff and I apologize. What I say usually turns to "gibberish" because I "shoot from the hip" on this stuff. I kinda don't know what I'm talking about half (or more) the time because I seldom re-read what I write. But I'll conclude by saying the I love the Lord... and I'm slowly learning to love what the "things" that He loves... His own word/Word, and people. 'Tis a long journey, and a slow one, for me. Lord bless all of you guys, and gals. -me
Thanks for sharing your own thought tools. Here are a couple of my favorite verses that help me continue to trust in God when access to all wisdom and knowledge is lacking: Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law. Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Ecclesiastes 7:14 When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.

Aw, thanks Sharon. You’re a gem!
I love the BLB. At Church when the Preacher just mentions a verse, I can be there in a moment. BLB has changed the way I read the Bible.
It’s interesting you mentioned looking up passages in church. I do as well, and since it’s so easy to reference all the locations for each Greek word, I quickly get lost in my own study, sitting there in church.
Thanks for the comment.
I LOVE THIS BIBLE! I DO USE IT FOR MY SERMONS. I LOVE TO TAKE A WORD AND LOOK UP SCRIPTURES FOR SERMON.

"cleanliness is next to godliness"
That phrase is not listed in the kjv bible.
Neither is the combination of words
"next to godliness".
However, if I do a word search on just the word " godliness" I find 15 verses where it is used. Good for doing word studies !
I was curious about what the four winds represented in the bible, so I looked up east wind, north wind, south wind and west wind.
Try it, read the verses and notice what they tell you about the east wind in particular..lol
I love dissecting and discovering jewels in God's word 🌷
The BLB is an exceptional Bible study tool. I absolutely love it.
That’s impressive. I’m sure you’ve seen many iterations of the app. Can you ever download those notes?
I so agree with the value of this amazing tool. It has helped me connect the dots. I would love any further teaching on the BLB that you would be willing to produce. Thank you!
Thanks for listening and thanks for asking. I did a video on the BLB phone app. Did you get a chance to listen to that?
I've used the BLB for over 10 years. My wife and both live it.
Yeah, I think it’s been about that long for me as well. I completely stopped using Bible Gateway…too many ads.
Thank you so much for this instructional video!
Really glad you found it helpful. I'll be making more in 2024. BLB has really helped me find deeper insights into the Word.
Thank you so much for sharing this info about BLB. I will definitely be using it more often now.
Happy to help. I'l be doing more in teh near future, especially one abut the BLB phone app...which is mindblowing as well.
Thank you so much, this was very helpful!
I'm really glad it was helpful, Barb.
Thanks so much. I looked at Logos and it seemed overwhelming. I'm not a pastor but I go out soul-winning for my church. I will try the blue letter Bible software.
That means a lot...thanks @52bbibbs. Here's a verse for you:
Daniel 12:3
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
Logos has a learning curve but use only what you need at first. There lots of stuff in Logos I rarely, if ever, use.
@ecuador9911, which one is harder to use for you? Logos or BLB?
@@Motivationeer I’ve been using BLB for about 15 years, but Logos for only about 6 months, so I would say BLB is easier. However, I’ve created extensive notes in BLB, and I’ve asked them to be able to “lock” in the “verse” sequence in notes so I can explore my notes and surrounding notes, but after reviewing any note BLB reverts back to its default sequence.
Thanks for this new tool. I'm going to check it out. I enjoy the paper Thompson Chain Reference also.
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much. I will check it out! Looks interesting and helpful.
My pleasure!
Matthew Henry is in the it! And three other people also. 😊
I have to say it's about time that Blue Letter Bible program has been discovered and demonstrated in a UA-cam video.
Thanks @FrankO1000. I’m so surprised by e reception of this video. I just posted one about the BLB iPhone app. Let me know what you think. Thanks for the view and the comment.
I still use the BLB Classic version. I'm just so used to it...
Yes…and it was so easy for me to get used to it.
Thanks for the web tour I’ve been using the phone app and always thought the website was not as intuitive until now.
I appreciate the feedback, @sdhute. I'm going to be doing one for the cell phone app in the near future. It has some capabilities the on-line app does not. Thanks again.
Great stuff, sir. Most helpful.
Thanks for the comment and encouragement @pastortindall
Great video, thanks! any thoughts on how to document what you are learning, like if you wanted to do a blog on propitiation, or just for personal Bible study for example? I guess you could copy and paste as you go and put it in a word doc???
This is a great question. None of the great Bible software tools ever integrate a useful note-taking system (beyond highlighting passages or writing floating-notes in the margin). So, I capture what I learn in a Word document (if it is a one-off study) or an Excel sheet or OneNote, ( if it is a multi-tab complex topic.)
For example, I did a deep dive into the Kings of Israel and the Kings of Judah. That was way too complex to write up in a Word Doc. So I created a multi-tab Excel spreadsheet to gather all the info I learned. (I could have done the same thing with a OneNote). Contrast this to a study I did on "accept one another."
I then file these Word docs and Excel sheets into my File Explorer within a folder called "Bible". One study I am doing called "Forgiveness and Reconciliation", I create another sub-folder within the Bible folder. Here I create multiple different Word docs, downloaded PDF's from the internet, images etc.
Hope this helps.
Been using for a while it’s really helpful
Me too! Thanks for the comment.
Very Helpful thank you very much!!
Really glad it helped! Thanks for the comment. Recently completed the cell phone version. Please give it a look and let me know if it’s also useful. Thanks again.

You are most welcome, @kassiedoo. I'll be doing more in the future. It has really helped me tremendously. AND...it's FREE! How? Amazing.
I cannot figure out the pc version at all🤔 the android app is awesome! 😎
Is the Android version much different?
Because some greek words will have like the
A . They write the word and explain
B. Then B also is explained and yet B and A are really so different
So how do u go about that ?
Thanks for the question, @asianzujohnson934. If I understand you correctly, you are saying:
- you hover over the "Tools" button next to a verse
- you then select "Interlinear"
- you then select the "Reverse" tab
- you then select the "Strong's" number
...and this takes you to the page where the Greek word appears at the top...am I right?
Your question to me then asks, "which interpretation do I use"...right?
Well, this is the same dilemma biblical Greek translators face when translating a Bible verse. This is a hurdle because the same Greek word could mean different things when used in a different context. This is also true of English words, of course.
For example, someone writes a 'letter" to a friend and a word starts with the "letter" A.
So, the best we can do when looking at multiple different ways a Greek word can be used in a sentence, is to carefully look at the context of what is being written. We start with:
1) how would someone of that day and time have taken the meaning of what was said?
2) what is the historical significance of what was said?
3) how does the meaning within this one verse compare with the meaning of the same word found in other verses?
4) how can I apply this meaning to my life compared to how the application would change if I used a different way to translate that word?
This is not a short exercise, of course. It is a lifelong commitment to learning. I have grown in my understanding of how to view certain difficult passages. And I have come to realize some passages are not at all difficult.
It is a worthy investment of our time as Jesus says in John 6:27
“Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life,"
We only have a certain amount of time in each day, week, month, year, season and life.
This is the essence of James 1:5 and Matthew 7:7-8
Thanks again.
Love the BLB. Use it to take notes along with scriptures. But I really would like to print my notes. Does the BLB have a way to do that?
Not that I know of, no. It is a no -profit group who has done amazing work. I love the tool. Not sure how much development is going into it, however. I usually don’t take notes in the app, however. I would love improvement in that area. Overall, huge fan of BLB. Thanks for the comment!
Is there a way to take notes, highlight and copy/paste scripture ?
There is, yes. Check out the video I just did about how to do this with the BLB cell phone app.
Wile I find this interesting, I am still too ignorant to even find this section of the very full app.
I can’t even get to this cool area that you are explaining.
Which section?
@@Motivationeer when I open my app it looks nothing like the page you begin with. I struggle just to transition from Bible to concordance and back, I have no idea how to get to your page.
Okay. I assume you mean you are accessing the BLB from your PC, Mac or Laptop computer. If so, just use www.blueletterbible.org/ as your link and this website of theirs is always current. Then, with that BLB tab open, right click the tab and select "Pin" to hold that BLB website link as an available tab at the top of your navigation bar. Does this help?
@@Motivationeer indeed it does, thanks!
I'm glad...and thanks for the original comment. Most people don't write about the blockers they are experiencing when using a tool.
BLB is the best. God bless them for making it free
I could not agree more! Indeed.
I love the blue letter Bible too. I just wish they would use a different Greek text than the Textus Receptus.
Esv is from Nestle Aldrin, it twists Paul's letters into pretzels .
Thank you for making this video.
I Pray, THE FATHER'S Blessings, Over you and yours, In JESUS' Name, Amen.

2:25 I assure you that it is VERY interesting, and I’m enjoying seeing your Bible and how you’re using God’s Word. 😊
Thanks @DottyGale8. I appreciate the reply. I want to do a whole series on this soon.
The app does not have as many features as the website, I just realized, since I’ve been using the app. I’ll be switching to the website version.
Yeah, the app is a little more limited.
Which version of the BLB are you using?
But on my computer the following works:
"walk + in + the + light".

Yes indeed, @sebahindacollin. I just did a video about the cell phone app here. Check it out. ua-cam.com/video/7reo_hvdwNc/v-deo.html
When you try to share the app for the Blue Letter Bible, Facebook deletes your post.
Whoa! This is interesting. Are you saying you wanted to share the app on your timeline (your own Facebook page) and Facebook deleted it from your page?
It seems to look and behave totally different on the phone app. Unless I'm doing something wrong.
It's actually very close. But now that you mention it, it would probably be good for me to do a video about the nuances of the cell phone. If I may provide the step in the meantime, here they are:
- Any verse you want to dig into, just select it by tapping anywhere on the verse
- A short text list will pop up with the following chocies: Interlinear/Concordance, Bible Comparison, Cross-References, Text Commentaries, Audio/Video and Dictionaries
- From here, I use the first choice the most...the Intelinear. This is where you can break down the verse word-by-word
Let me know if this helps...okay?
😅 I love the Old Testament studies.
Me as well.
What does it mean strongs G H ?
So sorry for the terribly late reply, @anilkarki5531. I'm embarrassed.
"Strong's GH" is a short way to refer to a large book called "Strong's Exhaustive Concordance." It is a massive collection of every word from the Old and New Testement showing every word that appears in the Bible. The letters "G" and "H" represent the short way of saying "Greek" and "Hebrew". That's because the first section of this massive book is a collection of all the Hebrew words. The last section all the Greek words.
Thanks for the question.
😊
I’ll take smiles…thank you. 😊

NASB95 is better than 20.
I agree. I use the printed version and the digital version. Not sure why they made the 20 at all. It confused me when it was published and I never switched.
NASB has a lot of mistakes! The co-editor of this Bible realized this and had to bail out! Look it up!

Years ago I saw kjb was most accurate as far as modern day Bible's. NASB was 2nd place
Every translation has textual variances
Better to use Logos.
I've heard Logos is also amazing, true.
Hhhmmm.. Blue Letter looks promising.
It will be even more enticing when I show the features on their app. That video is coming soon. Thanks for the message @Boxer54
And what concordance do you have that backs your bible?
My KJV has the Strongs !
Each publishing company for their respective translation has their own selected concordance, from what I can tell. They do not all have Strong's. That is the great thing about the Blue Letter Bible; it has the Strong's concordance and it has the pronunciation of the original Greek or Hebrew word from the Strong's
I found it extremely difficult to use.
I’m bummed. But I appreciate you trying. And thanks for the comment.
motivationeer coach? ha ha ha
I found a great page (outside the BLB) that explains the timeline of His death, burial and resurrection. I hope this helps.
The Blue Letter bible website is the most confusing how to operate site I ever came across. I don't use it simply because it is not user friendly.
It took me a while. This is why I made the video. I hope it helps.
When searching for a verse you don't need that pesky colon. Jn 3.16 will get you there.
Thanks for the tip. I live little efficiency bits like this. Much appreciated.
This commentary is confusing big time. No help
Sorry it didn’t help. I did a more thorough walkthrough of the cell phone app. Please give that a look and let me know if it’s any better. Appreciate the feedback.
Sounds like a gimmick.
Hype and profit.
"The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law."
- Deuteronomy 29:29 (NASB95)
Great tool but their faith statement is BS
I'm actually not aware of their faith statement.
And, if I'm not mistaken, most of the Old Testament cross references we see in the New Testament were clearly taken from Septuagint (the Greek Old testament captured by the Qumrān people.)
And I agree with you...I would love to see the Hebrew also captured in the BLB App, indeed.
-me
Dude, this is how Christians get a bad reputation with nonsense like this.
Thanks for sharing your own thought tools. Here are a couple of my favorite verses that help me continue to trust in God when access to all wisdom and knowledge is lacking:
Deuteronomy 29:29
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.
Romans 11:33
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
Ecclesiastes 7:14
When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.
