I've been using Dingbats dot journals for years and just love them. They work great for me as I am a very basic planner. Being a baby tuber (love that term) who spends a lot of time on my laptop, I like to do my planning on paper.
I love all of the information. I have the same issues like pain writing, trouble with keeping up with it etc, but I have found a system that i love that works for me. I don't think any available work as is and and most take a ton of work setting up BUT i found a solution. The happy planner works for me. You can buy plain dot grid or the complete planner. What i love is that once i made a page i can keep it forever and move the pages around. I can add pages anywhere because you just snap them in and out. I use the year at a glance for tracking appointments or blood sugar. I have a weight tracker, nebulizer tracker, meds trackers and you can make as many inserts as you need. I use a monthly layout for tracking my symptoms, another for appointments and therapy. I uss the weekly pages to tracking my daily to dos and another for journaling. Because I use stickers like the Caregiver line to decorate i don't have to write as much because i have stickers that say appointments, to dos, reminders etc. It helps me not have to write too much. I also have a smaller version for carrying with me back when I had places to go lol.
I tried bullet journaling, but I could not maintain it. I liked the freedom to track everything and the space to write notes, but I need more structure. I currently have a Clever Fox Weekly Premium planner, and I like it a lot. I want to try daily time blocking soon!
Thanks for this. It was awesome seeing how you use your notion. I actually am a big fan of the passion planner but I can see how when you have limited spoons, paper planning can be cumbersome. I see that you also have a Notion tutorial but have you thought about making your hard work a customizable template? Pretty sure you can publish it without us seeing all your personal stuff.
I've considered making a template, but right now I'm too busy coaching inside my membership. 😊 Will probably have a better iteration in the future and might turn that into a template.
Spoon refer to the spoon theory. A Spoonie is someone with a chronic illness, disability, mental illness, and/or neurodivergence that makes it so they have less physical/cognitive/emotional energy than an able-bodied, mentally healthy, and neurotypical person. I am currently trying all the things so I appreciate this. I use a combination of the bujo with running Alastair method for a task list. I use B6/composition size cause I love a bigger size. I also tried to add the Erin condren this year but that’s not going well. Thank you for sharing this
Bigger notebooks are so great. I loved my Dingbats notebooks so much, and am a little sad digital planning works better for me and I don't have the need to use them anymore. And thanks for watching my video! Let me know if there's ever another topic you want me to cover. 😊
My only problem with the Passion Planner was... the paper. I just couldn't get past it. After coming from Rhodia notebooks it just did not thrill me enough to be motivating.
I have just fallen so in love with you. I feel as though you make these videos for me specifically. So helpful in every aspect of my life! Now for the serious question - what type of keyboard do you use?!
Hi Kristen! So happy you found me. 😊 I use a custom mechanical keyboard my partner made me. You can check out the reddit post he made to see pictures. www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/7usfpa/photos_minty_lets_split/
I've been using the Clever Fox daily medical journal, I love it but it's only 3 months and it's very expensive. I'm wanting to be able to customize what's inside but the more I read about it the less I want to bullet journal.
I can use my right hand with no problems. So I can maintain my planner. I use Whistle and Birch planner. I got the Duo Planner which has Monthly, Weekly and Daily sections. You can customise this planner by chosing the layouts for the weekly and daily sections. So with this I chose vertical and for the daily I did a Structured Daily. The weekly boxes have 3 vertical boxes and then a section underneath to write to do's. This is where I broke each vertical box in half and put a sticker to break it in half. I then wrote in each sticker: pain scale, pain type, fatigue, sleep, anxiety and stress. In the to do's I wrote all my meds and also wrote extra meds on the habit tracker. For the daily I can put headings in boxes and than write what I did that day, monitor the weather, notes and can write in strategies I used to work with my chronic pain and PTSD.
Notion does have a steep learning curve, and it can take a while to set up a system like this, but it is SO worth it. The time spent on it saves so much time later as you continue to use the system.
Have you tried any of these planners before? Comment below with your experience.
Huge Scribbles That Matter fan, here

@@CassieWinter Have you had time to do this yet? Also since this is a year old maybe it is time for an update on your journal method?

I've allllways wanted to bullet journal but my pain never let me. I'm so glad I found you Cassie!
I'm so glad you found me too, Camille! 🥰
This video is phenomenal!
Seems like it would take a long time to set up...

Do you offer your Notion templates for sale?
Not currently. Is there one in particular you'd be interested in?
This one (symptom tracker/habit tracker for Notion)! @@CassieWinter
