I have the same thought about life, living a more old-fashioned life, I have a passion for taking care of my home, doing everything with my own hands, I also feel more grateful for everything I have.
I loved the vlog Lisa, keep recording your days, it's great to be able to follow you more closely on UA-cam, and to be able to learn more about homesteading
Such a great video. And yes, I'm the same way, I want a much slower way of life. I love it!! We got rid of our microwave about a year ago, and so you really need to make sure you've got meat defrosted and ready to go for dinner. I cook most of our foods from scratch, though, I don't make as much bread as I should. Things get busy, so I like to have store bought on hand sometimes. I just pulled out some of my homemade pumpkin puree out of the freezer today, i thought I'd make some muffins. Super excited that I still have two containers left of it. Turned out great, and I'm actually growing extra pumpkins this year to have more. I'm starting to hone in on the best pumpkin varieties to make into puree. I didn't know there were some better than others. I also got my first cabbage today (it was the one in my greenhouse) over two and a half pounds, I'm weighing in all of my vegetables, eggs etc. this year to see what percentage of food we are able to produce per year for ourselves. I think I heard 1000lbs per person per year, so I think that would be an easy way to work out how we're doing. Anyway, I totally agree with you, I have no problem doing things the harder way. I haven't had a working dishwasher most my life, so it's not a big deal to not have one, I think some people look at me like I'm crazy, though🤣
I love that! Doing the simple basic chores really gives you time to slow down and connect with God! Thank you for watching. Sorry the comment is so late, I just found a bunch of comments that UA-cam didn't send me a notification for. Blessings to you and your family!

The cost of dishwasher detergent is insane. We go through dishwashers like crazy. About 1 every 1 to 1.5 years. My husband knows how to fix them and we are able to get used ones for free since he’s remodeling the apartments where he works. We usually do 2-3 loads of dishes every day. They really don’t make appliances like they used to.
It’s crazy. I also realize we practically wash dishes before we put them in a dishwasher anyway. I hear there are ones that you don’t have to pre-rinse, but I’ve never used one like that.
@@Fivearrowshomestead24 , I’ve tried that before but it’s not worth the money. They don’t work. At least not with well water. We have a water softener but it doesn’t really make any difference. Think the only thing the water softener made a difference on was when I was cloth diapering. Hasn’t really prolonged any of my dishwashers life’s.
@@robboyd2136 , I haven’t found any. Even brands like LG and Bosch don’t last. The brands that we use now are just the cheap Whirlpool. I would love to find some cool old stoves and refrigerators. My aunt still has my grandma’s old refrigerator from the 80’s at the lake house. Amazing how much better quality and cheaper appliances were back then. Wish appliances were still made like that.

I love it! It just connects you in a different way!
Thanks for beautiful blog visit... Simple treasures lie hidden in the life of the gardener.❤
Definitely!
Enjoyed your vlog, Lisa! Laundry and organizing are my favorite chores. Love that your friends blessed you with a new washer. 🩷
Thanks! Organization used to be one of my favorites until I had so many kids! There’s just so much stuff!

I think I finally ran out of my frozen pumpkin purée. I don’t use the microwave much. My teens/young adult kids do though.
It was such a beautiful day

I'd love to find an old working dishwasher in good working order. Unfortunately I don't think they exist.
