DJI Mavic 2 Waypoints 2.0 Tutorial | New Intellegent Flight Mode

  • Today DJI updated the Go4 app and added a new intelligent flight mode called "Waypoints", which essentially is a way of adding GPS waypoints, points of interest and different camera behaviors for an automatic pre-planned flight. In this video, I go over the waypoints 2.0 features for the Mavic 2 series, how to use them and how to create your very first automated flight path. This tutorial is easy to follow even for beginner pilots. This new update is compatible with the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom. I am not sure about the enterprise version as it doesn't support intelligent flight modes.

A message from an old drone flyer at the age of 82 from Thailand.Thank you very much. May I say that this is one of the best tutorials to lead all guys who fly DJI Mavic2 be able to understand and enjoy fly IFM-Waypoint 2.0 successfully. But make certain that the height of every WP must be safely set, higher than all the obstacles along every the route. Lucky flying, guys.

WOW DJI!!!! Well thought out way points Intelligent modes. This in itself makes this my next MAVIC drone purchase. Are you capable of setting the zoom the way you can set camera angle? Can you control the camera and drone without stopping the way point's task? What an excellent video, again. Thank you for not having your intro volume set to max volume. Hi, great video! Do you know if the standard Mavic 2 collision avoidance is fully operational during way point missions? I would expect it to be available, and it would certainly help us avoid crashing. Thank you very much for taking the time to share what you've learned so far. I look forward to learning more about how it all actually works for you...

Appreciate the tutorial! My challenge has been trying to adjust waypoints out in the field. Every time I touch the icon, it creates a new waypoint instead of allowing me to adjust. Very frustrating.
Is there a master list of all waypoints in a menu that I can choose from vs having to touch the screen?
Also, I love the option to adjust the camera angle, but it's tough to guess where you might need it. So, can I leave that option alone and still adjust the gimbal during the flight?

Great video, good pace and very clear, easy to understand and learn from. My question is to ask if the maps available within waypoints can be changed to Google Maps? I once used litchi when I had my first drone and this was far better, clearer and more detailed maps to set missions on. I now use a Mavic Zoom and have a smart controller but really miss the Google Maps.

Thanks as always for another great tutorial! 👍🏽
I have the DJI Go4 app on my everyday tablet (which I used to use for flying), and on my DJI SC. To plan a waypointed route, it would be easier for me to sit at home with my tablet (bigger screen) and plot it on it then save it, then when I get out to the flight site, use my SC.
    Q. Does the planned route get saved to the device or cloud? Or, am I stuck with having to route plan on my SC?

Many thanks for the Vid, I didn’t realize waypoints were imminent.
    2 questions
Does everything need to be connected (to controller & aircraft- as in ready to fly - to use waypoints).
Can waypoints be created on one device and used on another.
E.g. created on iPad at home, then used on iPhone during flight.
I ask as my iOS go 4 hasn’t updated yet.

very clear tutorial. simple/obvious question. you’re using an ipad to create your mission. how you transfer the mission to, say, a smartcontroller? and it looks like your ipad is connected to the mavic 2. is it possible to create your mission offline? or do you need to have the drone powered up, eating up battery power, etc, to create your mission? i’ve done a ton of googling…and can’t seem to find anyone who has found a way to achieve these 2 super obvious features. thanks!

Thanks for the tutorial. I guess my Litchi App is almost obsolete. DJI still needs to add a PC / MAC or web based planning app so you can build and save your flight plans without the drone. It's a pain and waste of time booting up a drone. Any word on if DJI has a desktop planning app in development.

Yes as of right now you have to power on the drone, it is a little annoying. I’m hoping DJI Will change that with a firmware update. You don’t have to be flying it in order to set your way points. You can Do it from the comfort of your home while you plan your waypoint flight

Very useful video. Have now completed my first flight. Still things to learn such as ensuring gimbal is pointing lower that just the horizon and sky - 30% might be OK as I was unable to override this during flight. One question: What is the relevance of the altitude setting on a point of interest, after all, the drone altitude will be determined by the waypoint altitude setting I believe?

    • @davidb8531
      @davidb8531 3 роки тому +1

The reason you want to set the altitude of the POI and each waypoint, is so that the camera will automatically tilt towards the POI's preset height, no matter what height you set each of the waypoints to. The drone will change the angle of the camera so as to follow the POI's height at each waypoint.

Tracks with multiple trackpoints always seem to be more than 10 km long, but this can´t be true!? So do you know what`s wrong with this value? Or is it a misunderstandig from my side?
