TRYING MOROCCAN ESCARGOT IN EL JADIDA: Who out of the four of us will try snails in El Jadida?!

  • We have headed further down the sunny Moroccan coast to the port town of El Jadida. We had a great few days here staying right near the beach and by far the highlight of El Jadida is the corniche in the evening that really comes alive!
We found all kinds of different Moroccan street food on the corniche as well as soooo many football games on the busy beach!
So who do you think out of the four of us will try escargot in Morocco?
    Watch and find out!
    Thanks for watching! :)

It contains lots of spices and herbs and to mention few there are thyme, dried pomegranate peels, bay leaf, licorice, dry chili pepper and rosemary and nutmeg. The Most dominant flavoring herb, as it tastes, is nutmeg. And for the record , Escargot soup is believed to be "natural viagra' for Moroccan Men but that is one of urban legends lol.

EL Jadida was fortified by the Portugese in the 16th century. It was then called Mazagan and the name El Jedida means 'new city' which came about in the 19th century by the Moroccans. A very important port strategically. One of our favourite places in Morocco. I guess it has changed a bit from our time there. Try and visit the historic cistern, under the citadel. Part of UNESCO. It is stuning. Cath was home schooling the boys (before cell phones and computors) and when we returned to UK the youngest then 5 was asked to talk to his class about Morocco starting with drawing a map of Africa and pointing out where Morocco is. A little village school in Wales that showed us so much support for taking the boys travellng in a converted ambulance then a converted coach. (Following year) Harder to take kids from school now but some in the UK manage it. The then 8yr old gave a talk on Chefchaouen and ElJadida. Happy times. We think your boys do you proud. Smashing kids and altogether lovely, warm fun family. Happy travels folks! 👌Oh yes the Escargot experience. 👍

سميت بالجديدة لأن سيدي محمد بن عبدالله أعاد بناءها
اتفق البرتغاليين مع المغاربة ألا يدخلوها حتى يبتعدوا بسفنهم في عرض البحر

But maybe the rosemary can give that black stock
I used to teach alimentation et équilibration of menus before I want to the kitchen

The snail contains different vitamins: B, D, E. Very little fat. Snail meat contains omega-3 fatty acids, which contribute to the proper functioning of the cardiovascular system, which is very rich in protein. Moroccans know very well how to prepare it and in which period of the year, now it is in great demand in cosmetics.
