It contains lots of spices and herbs and to mention few there are thyme, dried pomegranate peels, bay leaf, licorice, dry chili pepper and rosemary and nutmeg. The Most dominant flavoring herb, as it tastes, is nutmeg. And for the record , Escargot soup is believed to be "natural viagra' for Moroccan Men but that is one of urban legends lol.

EL Jadida was fortified by the Portugese in the 16th century. It was then called Mazagan and the name El Jedida means 'new city' which came about in the 19th century by the Moroccans. A very important port strategically. One of our favourite places in Morocco. I guess it has changed a bit from our time there. Try and visit the historic cistern, under the citadel. Part of UNESCO. It is stuning. Cath was home schooling the boys (before cell phones and computors) and when we returned to UK the youngest then 5 was asked to talk to his class about Morocco starting with drawing a map of Africa and pointing out where Morocco is. A little village school in Wales that showed us so much support for taking the boys travellng in a converted ambulance then a converted coach. (Following year) Harder to take kids from school now but some in the UK manage it. The then 8yr old gave a talk on Chefchaouen and ElJadida. Happy times. We think your boys do you proud. Smashing kids and altogether lovely, warm fun family. Happy travels folks! 👌Oh yes the Escargot experience. 👍
