Hell no brother. The show sucks and they’re just trying to find a lifeline now. Since they ruined all the characters and story, they’re trying to create an antihero character like Loki where they were originally evil now they care about everyone, however the writers suck and fucked everything up royally from the start. The only reason #’s are up is cause people are wanting to see how bad it is, just stop watching it.

Halo is one a grey scale it works for people who don’t play halo games it works for people who know the background of how it comes together on making something! It doesn’t work when you don’t put a little more effort into certain aspects of lore and adapting it in another way! The fall of reach could’ve introduced Noble team and had Master chief down watching from side lines helpless cuz he lost his fight on the planet and every episode could’ve still been on reach instead it was only two eps the feeling of impact was swift! I critiqing the show I’m enjoying keep in mind I know this is far from halo we know but idc it’s different it’s been different since season 1 there’s no fuckin way you gonna think they’re gonna do anything or everything exactly how they should’ve done it I’m upset I didn’t get a noble team! But hey if I was funded and had followers and a team to work with I think i could’ve adapted it in a different way were fans would be okay with but do something different that complements the lore and possibly add to it in some way! I’m glad this show has nothing to do with the games in a sense
The Spartan III's in the show are similar to Spartan IV's in the game and its hilarious that Master Cheeks doesn't even care that they are gonna go boom, he's just like us. 😅

To be honest I loved this episode. We literally got: halo, forerunner city, some action, akcerson getting choked, flood teaser etc... I'm happy🤷🏻
It's not what it could have been, but it's not a terrible show. My wife is excited for the next episode and has been for each episode this season. It's drawing in viewer who've never played halo. Maybe soon we can finish our halo CE playthru.

I gave up on this show in season 1 episode 2 and never looked back. 🤣
I gave up when I saw the TRAILER for Season 1. I'm well versed in the lore so I knew right away that they weren't even trying. Unlike the trailer for The Last of Us Season 1 where you can tell they were sticking 99% closely to the game, and guess what, it was a hit! That's all this series had to do. Recreate Halo CE 99% accurate from Pillar of Autumn to The Maw and it would've been a success. The whole point is to make this beautiful story ACCESSIBLE to people who don't play videogames. To experience what us gamers experienced when we played it. It was that simple.

You know what's funny if that vial that Miranda took is a flood spore vial then it's ironic Keyes are always destined to release the Flood like instead of Jacob Keyes unlocking and accidentally freeing the flood it was Miranda who open the vial. It's insane Kwahn unlocked the Forerunner door and how she became gifted all of a sudden like why now???
I bet Soren wanted to let his son become a spartan but because its a tv show their not gonna show kids getting beaten up so he's forced to save his son. Also insane Soren instantly forgot his wife and son got taken like he literally saw them get taken before 3 guards tried to beat him up and even crazy how easily they got into the facility like was there no guards or surveillance in the area?
Nitpick, but Keyes didn't release the Flood in HaloCE, the Covenant did (Cortana says so during the cutscene before the actual outbreak mission) and Keyes was just there because he knew it was an important place as well.
@ZedByt oh yeah lol but Keyes and his men did technically release one of the locked room that contained the Flood. I forgot the Flood was already released when Keyes and marines were inside. I just remembered Cortana telling Chief to stop the Captain lol my bad.
So I guess I should say Keyes are fated to be either killed or infected if that vial contain Flood spores

That's certainly what it seems like, since they don't even try to allude to the fact they are biomedically enhanced or anything. Which is stupid, I think they're going for more of a "3s are just ultra-trained and specialized-in-rough-insertions Marines in better armor, but we call them Spartans cuz that has better press [even though having hundreds of Spartans die for missions doesn't exactly seem like good PR])
It's weird, cuz it's like they mashed the lore of Ackerson and new Spartan generations with what ODSTs are; harder trained soldiers that specialize in rough insertions and wear specialized armor.
Perez would be a badass ODST, I'd watch a show on her story.
@@ZedByt they arent even that better trained. all they did was go over a simulation a few times for an exact situation and failed that simulation almost every time. and who knows if normal marines in this timeline dont already get access to simulation training.

@@generalarl At the end of the episode, they (Miranda, Halsey, and Kwan) unlock a door to a Forerunner lab marked with a symbol that they theorize means either something close to growth or to decay (or both), and then a map of the galaxy shows a bunch of systems turning red, then Kwan remembers a spooky little monster face drawing that she saw in her weird prophesizing dream and says "We can't be here!" and runs away. The way the scene comes off and with the fact we know the producers absolutely are aware of the Flood, I don't really think it could be anything else (other than like a disease I guess). As for if they ever actually show up, yeah I kinda doubt it cuz that's a TON of animation work.

I watched all of Season 1 one. I would say it was so-so. I just got up to S2 E6 and after the bungled version of the destruction of Reach it does not follow canon. First, Captain Keyes was supposed to die on the HALO but instead is killed on Reach before the HALO is found. Second, Cortana was snatched by some sorry excuse of a human collaborator/captive that ruined Season 1 with an unrealized affair with Master Chief. Thirdly and most of all they're making the Master Chief and SPARTAN II's seem entirely too human and not the super hardened unfeeling killing machines they're supposed to be. Can you say ruined beyond redemption??

That’s not how I took it. I saw it as Kessler being pissed at his father for not being there when him and his mom needed him. Listen I’m a big halo fan I’ve played all games but infinite. I’ve read 1 book and plan to read more yes I wish the show was closer to the game story but I’m also happy that we’re actually getting anything halo live action. As long as we continue watching so they continue to make more as well as possible spin off series like maybe a Halo ODST series ore movie

I think why he said that about his son is because of his son constantly saying he wanted to be a Spartan like his Dad. This episode made me laugh so much on how everything just got flipped.
I think you're misinterpreting the scene with Soren. From my perspective, they were showing how warped his perspective was. While he was no longer in the program, a part of him loved being a "Spartan." And, in a way, he wanted his son to become what he couldn't. However, what his wife told him clearly clicked. Obviously, they could have shown it better. But he realized that his son shouldn't go through what he went through.
In the same vein, the reason his son backed up wasn't because he was mortified. That isn't how he looked in the scene. He looked detached from it all and as though he would return to wherever he entered from with the other kids. However, he stopped once his mother showed up and "snapped" him back to reality. You have to remember, the kid has been there for however many weeks at this point. And I don't think Soren's wife was mortified by anything beyond him saying they should let it happen. Everything after that just showed them getting pulled away.
Again, I'm not saying the execution was great, but I don't think what you're saying is the correct interpretation or what the writer's intention was.

As a stand alone show it's not bad. I refuse to call it Halo though. I call it "Sci-fi the show with Halo aesthetics". This show is alright and if you can remove the show from the game series then yes it's alright, but i know a lot of people can't do that, and honestly you shouldn't have to do that. It's a TV series named "Halo". It comes with the expectations that this show should follow some sort of story line of Halo, but it just goes way too far out of the way to remind you it's not really Halo. All i can say is that i truly hope and wish that whoever at 343 or Microsoft to told these people to go ahead and make an alternative time line...is fired. Is fired and never can work in the TV or Gaming industry ever again. They deserve to only work at a burger king or mcdonalds for the rest of their life. Such stupid choices were made.
And not to mention how goddamn wildly more successful this show would’ve been had it followed a story from the books or even loosely the exact events of the games it would genuinely be successful and not just cause randoms and normies wanted to watch something on a Saturday night and decided to check out a new sci fi show being added to a subscription service they already pay for so why not watch it and then they boast about breaking records as if any of the people watching it care for the fact it’s about Halo at all

Even if you see the show as it's own thing and ignore that it came from a series of games and books, it still is horribly written.
Characters change motivation, logic, reason for no reason on an episode by episode basis.
The biggest thing for me is how much "macguffin"ing there is with the artifacts and weird special humans. Having the plot being driven by "This guy/gal is just blessed with prophesizing dreams lol" is so dumb, their weird destiny-induced heritage is like 1000% more important to the story than how much they contribute outside being a talking map.
Yup! It's nice to get surprises.... try to be open to what they have in mind.

wondered why Kessler was being trained in style #2 of being dogpiled by adults, when there were already Spartan 3s in existence; didn't these only played around in simulators.. ?
I mean in the actual Halo Universe the 3s were trained nearly just as brutally, just augmented much less and not kidnapped. However, I just assume Ackerson and Parangosky were just terribly unoriginal and just kept the original purpose of that training room, because the purpose of that room has been more consistent than Ackerson's view on how to make Spartans.

Show is good, reboot story. Game MC is the player, now they making show, show this is back story and personality building for MC, in books and comics he has life aside from killing everything. And this is early life time.
Soren is a calm and vicious warrior, he knows they will be okay, if he intervenes immediately, he will likely be overpowered and captured as well. He acted accordingly in that scene. However, i agree with the reactions of the mom and son, doesn't make sense.

About certain humans being able to interact with Forerunner tech rather than all humans like before in Halo lore it could be that the ability was there for all humans but much like if you duplicate a file over time each copy is degraded that could be the reason why it may also cause some to have what are perceived as hallucinations may be code left by the Forerunners that's corrupted. I wonder if will get a thing like out of combat evolve where Chief was being warned by Cortana to stop Keys from opening the door and getting infected but have it be Kwan.
This would effectively make the librarian seem incompetent if this were to be the case it would literally take a fat dookie on everything the librarian and her life workers did no just no😂

The Spartans are supposed to be soldiers but most of the time nobody follows orders, they declare their orders to be dumb that they know better and do whatever they want. Look i get the UNSC and ONI ain't the Glorius Freedom loving it's supposed to be but when your pushed back on the verge of extinction that stuff goes out the window, It's probably my biggest gripe with the show the tactics and Military not acting like any Military personal would act. Take Perez there is no way someone that shit in combat would be selected for the Spartan III program and the Spartan III's have no tactical sense at all. It's a crime to care these days cause they keep kicking Halo fans while they are down, We don't want a exact re-telling but at least respect the universe and it's Characters. Soren's wife who a few days ago told him she needs him to be angry and who pretty much tortured a man is now to horrified by Soren... you married a Pirate.... you were Slavers ... no consistency. and they killed off Vannak and got rizz out the only characters remotely acting like spartans. Has everyone forgotten what subtext is... no sparten 3 are not real Spartans they were created as cannon fodder and cheaper. The name spartan was given to them for psychological reasons as in "hey I'm a spartan now and a badass and invincible". Soren 1 wants to know if his son is a fighter or a runner 2 is living his lost dream of being a spartan through his son. They should have just labeled the new Spartans as ODST.

I personally think there are characters that do not add any substance to show. If I had anything to do with show, Quan would have had became a spatan 3 and had a cool arc, not this I have special powers that I dont have time to explain. Its like they had some one who knew the lore explain it to someone who did not understand it. They then had that person explain the premise to writers who then were told to write a si-fi story.

@@redsquire because as halo fans, some more sane than others, (and halo-follower isnt a good example), We stay loyal to our childhood franchise.
As frustrating as it is that they dont follow the halo canon, nor the games, it still has some gems between the plot, like the action scenes, the main narrative, and the follow up to the first halo ring
or because, you know... this a halo youtube channel and so he has a prerogative to watch and inform people about anything concerning Halo lol

Im not nearly as critical. Its a vast improvement over season 1. It's entertaining and im looking forward to the finale. Also the word is Expendable not expandable 😅
