I agree with your selection! 1 thing to add about these tiny epic games is that u must have the expansions and the extras for galaxies, zombies, and defenders especially.
With the dark war expansion and the special characters, defenders may be #2 on your list once u experience the whole shebang and use what u like from the expansion. With the dark war expansion you get more lands that you actually interact with by way of boats and wagons and special versions of the old lands. U also get more bosses and with the special edition u get the complete stack of bosses (a must have) last but not least it gives you more characters, legendary items, and a cool new experience ladder with extra abilities by way of an extra set of cards to add to yer characters already existing abilities.
Defenders, galaxies and zombies are my all time fave.
I like quest too but I was expecting more zelda feel but what I got was a worker placement/ press your luck dice game with a zelda skin on it. It's a great game once u learn to accept that it doesnt have a dungeon explorer feel and that u really dont get to use magic even though yer struggling to get spells for some reason (for points only) but yeah not bad either.
I'm pretty disappointed in mechs... I'm not going there lmfao!

My favorite is Dinosaurs with Pirates a close second. Western is higher for me. My copy of dungeons showed up today and I can’t wait to get it to the table. Thanks for the video!

I just got tiny epic galaxies blast off and now I love the game even more!!
I like Kingdoms the most with Hero's Call. I find it has more player interaction and I like people changing their play style depending on their race.

After seeing a few Tiny Epic rankings from different sources, I’ve now realized that the only real consensus is that Galaxies (the original one) is the best. All the other ones really depend on everyone’s personal tastes. But I still enjoy these ranking videos 😆

I think Tiny epic Dungeons will take a top 3 if the #1 spot. Its amazing.

While I feel that Kingdoms and Galaxies are fine without the expansions, Defenders really needs the expansion to match the quality of other games in the series.
Aside from doubling the hero and epic foe count it introduces a campaign mode, as well as an experience and skill system. Plus it increases the variety of region effects, including "hostile" regions, that add complications to the game.
The only downside is the introduction of escort missions, which were added probably to balance out the added power the skills bring to the party and give the players something more than "firefighting" to do. Escorting caravans could be a nice thematic activity, but it ends up feeling like arbitrary busy work.
We have really been looking at the Defenders expansion. I think we'll probably get it in the not too distant future. Thanks for the info!
Great set of quick reviews. The only game I have is Tiny Epic Kingdoms - which I kickstarted - but found it was not that great at 2 player (which is my usual). Had not heard about 2nd edition rules so thanks for the heads up on that!
The second edition rules do help a lot. They change the way the dummy player works, for the better.

I liked Galaxies a Lot, but Loved the Blast Off! edition a lot more. Also Quest is my #1 and Dungeons is my #3
And, other pocket-size games that are a lot of fun (at least to my) are Pocket Mars, a Fistful of meeples, Saboteur and Kingdomino (wich has a big box but doesnt need it).
Totally agreed on Kingdomino. And we are on the lookout for Fistful of Meeples, we hear a lot of good things and generally like Johnny Pac as a designer.
Just received the Tiny Epic Dungeons w/ Stories expansion. Along with Pirates with its expansion, Dungeons probably is the most beloved Gamelyn board game I own to date. Liked the portability of the series but honestly, the gameplay is too big to be considered portable. Still, love the idea and I'm looking forward to see what else Gamelyn can make in the future.

I got my copy of Dungeons this morning. I've played a couple games, one solo, one 4 player. Neither made it to the boss. It's a bit more complicated than many of their other games, and a lot harder than any of their other cooperative games.
I definitely cannot travel with Pirates or Dungeons. This series has started to lose the portability feature, making the tiny box kind of pointless IMO.
@@pilotvc Pirates isn't the first table hog they've made. Western and Quest both had similarly large table presences. Kingdoms, Galaxies, Dinosaurs, and maybe Tactics are good if you're looking for something you can play on a smallish table.
In order to give Pirates a more "piratey" feel and cause more mayhem, my sister & I changed a few things. 1. We added another dubloon to the board so we have to get 26 gold before burying a chest. This makes it necessary to attack more often anabling us to move up the legend track further before burying 3 chests. It lengthened the game a bit but made it more tactical. 2. We can now take a booty or a gold from a win against a fellow pirate. This change added more drama! We also considered the idea of navy attacks taking one or two booty/gold along with moving your crew into repair.
These changes certainly made it more intense. I like it much better now with these changes.
These are good ideas! We'll give it a whirl.
Great list! Really enjoyed watching. Just one correction - it was actually Tiny Epic Quest that first introduced the Item Meeples, not Tiny Epic Defenders. Their KS is literally called "Tiny Epic Quest - Introducing ITEMeeples" :) I was a backer of that one and very glad I did! Anyhow great job guys, I love your videos and very happy I found your channel.

Correct and TEQ is also the only one where itemeeples are a mechanic rather then just cosmetic

the only tiny epic games i own so far are galxies and dinos so nice to see thier placement
It's Zombies and Pirates for my favorites from all ofnthe videos ive seen. Now i just gotta add them tonthe collection
Kingdoms is the only one that convinced me so far but you HAVE to play with the expansion, it really brings it to a new level.
People keep saying that about both Kingdoms and Defenders. I think we may need to go expansion shopping soon.
they reworked the somewhat boring tower mechanism and it fells more "complete" now.
The Heroes are just a nice touch.
serveral of the Tiny Epic games are better with their expansions, not to mention several of them have very different game modes to choose from sometimes.
Tiny Epic Tactics - I find that Tiny Epic Tactics competitive works better with more players and the maps expansion. It's also important to note that both the main game map and expansion maps have a reverse side that allows you to setup the map how you want to. You can also play this 2-player co-op
Tiny Epic Kingdoms - The Heroes Call expansion adds a LOT to the game with a little. One of the most obvious changes is that your towers built can actually factor into your defense/protection of lands. Not to mention the Hero mechanic.
Tiny Epic Defenders - Also much, much better with the expansion as it plays out over a longer "campaign" with an addition of XP and skills to grow your character of choice, as well as some new mechanics with the locations.
Tiny Epic Galaxies - Great game as a base game made even greater by it's various mini and full expansions.
Tiny Epic Pirates - Has an expansion that adds a twist to the game where you have to remove a curse on your crew before you can bury all your treasure. Haven't tried it yet, though.

It was Tiny Epic Quests that introduced itemeeples.
I agree with Galaxies, but I felt Defenders fell flat.
Dinos has a great Mario Party feel at the end, as does Galaxies. Zombies has a clear cut end as well, but I never felt that with Defenders. It just ends.
Defenders feels like taking a harsh test.
Would be curious to seen the place of TE Dungeons in this ranking

TEG is my favorite game too, but I think if you'd played some of the games with 4 players they would have rated higher. Westerns just doesn't work as a 2 player game for me, but I love it as a 4 player game, if complicated to teach.
You should play with the Defenders expansion. It's the must play way to play for me.
That totally makes sense. Western certainly does feel like it loses a bit at 2, we'll have to give it a whirl at the full count. And enough folks have recommended that Defenders expansion now that I think we have to try it.

Great small box games: iron curtain, age of civilization, sprawlopolis/agroolis, deep sea adventure, palm island, tybor the builder, death angel card game, Puerto Rico card game (aka San Jose) and star realms

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Tiny Epic Vikings? Where do you think it will fit in your list?
No idea yet. But it is really interesting that it will be the first TE game with an actual foldable game board.

I got started in the series with TE Vikings. I really like the interplay of the mechanics in the base game, but I find the giants in the expansion to be a bit much.
That's totally fair. We like it for the Valkyries and the cool Gods, but we have been using it more as a sometimes expansion lately.
Do you own any of the expansions? Do they change up your list in any way?!
We have tried the Tactics maps and they are a bit tricky to stand up, so we don't really use them. We are really interested in Galaxies though.
Great list. I have (and love) many of these games. I prefer mechs with more players. I also think quest plays best with 2. I own, but still need to play, Zombies, Pirates, and Dungeons.
We just got Dungeons (and made a video about it) it is hard, but good.

I love western!! Its good 4 player. We make a couple changes to make if flow better
Do you mind sharing your changes? We do like it, but I can definitely see some tweaks helping a bit.
@@AlliesorEnemies we just make it more vanilla. no special abilities for the charachters. everyone just plays. Dice roll to win for duels. no augments (showing card for bonus etc..) keeps it balanced
Best Expansion too!
Western is #1. It is fantastic solo. Tactics is #2, also great solo. And Zombies is #3, again for solo.
We need to try the solo modes.

This video came out before Dungeons was released. But we do have a separate video for Dungeons on the channel. If we did have it in time, it would have been top 2.
How would Tiny Epic Dungeons fit in if you'd played it yet?

Galaxies with Beoynd the Black is by far the best one, but Dungeons is comming in strong...
We keep looking at Beyond the Black, I think we'll have to get it soon.

All but Tiny Epic Kingdoms. We haven't played any of them solo though, so we left it aside for now. Thanks for pointing it out though, we really should have mentioned.

Does dinosaurs have a single player mode?
It does. We haven't tried it but the Tiny Epic games usually have pretty solid solo modes.
Dungeons isn't on the list? It's my fav - feels like you're playing Diablo in a board game. Don't really like Galaxies actually.
This video came out before Dungeons was released. But we did do a follow up review of Dungeons, and we liked it a lot.
Tiny epic kingdoms would benefit from a new upgrade, specially in the art department.

That 6 to 8 chunk was the hardest part of the list for us. We are keen to try pirates with 4, I have a feeling it plays tighter and better with more.
Good list. I put Western a bit higher and Galaxies a bit lower. I find Galaxies to be overrated, a bit too fiddly.
It's interesting with Western, we really go up and down on it. It certainly is one of the most unique though, and cowboy themes are always welcome.
Tiny epic tactics is one of the best 2 player games out there.
I've met a few people who love it. It seems to have a bit of a dedicated fan base. Maybe we need to give it another whirl at some point.
@@AlliesorEnemies it could depend on whether you played a lot of tactics video games. Me and my brother love it for 2 player...but 3-or4 payer games did not go very well with my group
Tiny Epic pirates does dissapoint when played with only 2 people but oh boy does it get interesting at 4. Much pirating at 4 players

I only have Galaxies and Western. I think Western is awesome. Galaxies is much better with the expansion. It feels "finished" with Into the Black.
We keep hearing great things about the Galaxies and Defenders expansions. Maybe it is time to expand.

@@AlliesorEnemies i played PnP version of deluxe and it feels a bit long. Regular version for 4 players feels a bit easy. Anyways i dont have that much of an experience to talk about this game much

This was made before Dungeons was released. We do have a review video of Dungeons on the channel though.
Ranking tactics and mech so low is criminal. They are awesome with 3 or 4 players. Most of the tiny epic games are sub par with only 2 players. Tiny mech programming aspect is awesome and unseen in any other game. Predict next 4 moves and watch chaos unfold as your well laid plans go wrong or fake out an opponent.
Base tiny epic defenders is so boring. There is few options to really choose between. You are largely forced to take either the obvious right choice or lose.
Unfortunately our ranking is just on the two player versions, but with those two especially I can certainly see them being a lot better with more. I would say however that we found most of the Tiny Epic's work surprisingly well for two, but you need to take our list with that big caveat.
@@AlliesorEnemies I was guessing that was the case from what you said in the video. I'd highly recommend giving mech a second look with 3 or 4 when you have company. Far more balanced then too, it needs dogpiling
