    Really nice and in-depth video, certainly agree with most of the this. Regarding Moonblade, one trick and sometimes a slightly redeeming factor I like is that she can mega-exploit the "Goblin Bunks" trap room which spawns a goblin on failing to succeed the agility check of 4. If you start movement next to the room you can activate Shadow Walk, move into the room, intentionally fail the skill check and spawn a goblin. With your second movement you move out of the room and rinse and repeat. Due to stealth your movement doesn't end until you use up all 5 of it.
    After 5 movement you have spawned 3 goblins and instantly kill them all with the shadow walk ending in the trap room. 3 loot in one turn is pretty nice. You can also replenish your focus by succeeding the skill checks there instead of intentionally failing. No other character can farm that room like Moonblade can. Just gotta be sure not to spend too many turns there otherwise you run out of time before finding the minions/boss. Just one turn there can be enough to find some nice loot.

    So something I've been playing wrong? Maybe? While stealth says you ignore enemies for movement, I have still been resolving the goblin reveal tiles (ambush) as they have specific wording that I thought meant it superceded stealth. Because they say you stop your movement and take damage. And stealth says you move through enemies. Like thematically your way works, but mechanically I don't know for sure if the rules support it

    • @BoardGameOfficer
      @BoardGameOfficer  9 днів тому

      So I can’t find an official ruling on this but I have found a lot of talk about it in the bgg forum and on the Dized app it does specify that you do not take damage.
      The argument that has been out there is that in the rule book it states that ‘move through Unaffected by room with enemies’. Meaning unaffected from damage AND stopping movement.
      I know that doesn’t really help answer that question haha

    I also really enjoy the game and anything related to it! Appreciate your TED content, your walkthrough and this video! Couldn’t agree more about Wyn Keleas. I love playing rangers and don’t have the stories expansion so he is normally my first choice. Definitely should not have a “-1” on his bow. Zezili looks like a fun time to play with!

    Question: Do you think Moonblade can active shadow walk and uses it to avoid damage when revealing a new goblin/minion room and killing the goblin instantly since she has to stop (or maybe she could even continue moving)? I recall for the panda it was something similar, to wisely activate his skill before entering trap rooms. Would love if one could leverage moonblade's ability as well.
    Anyway thanks for the great content, I enjoy your videos a lot!

    • @BoardGameOfficer
      @BoardGameOfficer  Місяць тому

      Hey thanks! :)
      Yes that is correct. As long as you activate Moonblade's shadow walk before you explore the new tile. You can choose to stop and kill that Goblin (and not take the damage) or you can continue moving. Then if you reveal another goblin you can once again make the same choice!

    Would Moonblade be too broken if she could just straight up disarm a trap? Maybe increase the focus cost for that.

      @BoardGameOfficer  Рік тому

    Wait, what?
    Shadow walk targets only ONE enemy in location.
    That marker is for single enemy only.
    Maybe, just maybe she can attack every monster in every location everywhere she moves this turn. This could make her a great goblin assassin.
    Or am I wrong? And You find how exacly this skill works somewhere in instruction.

    • @BoardGameOfficer
      @BoardGameOfficer  Рік тому +1

      So I just added in the description the "appendix' where it describes how every card works. This is the description for "Shadow Walk - Perform an Agility Check of 6. If
      successful, spend 3 focus to move up to your speed, ignoring enemies, and deal 1 damage to all targets in the space where your movement ends."
      So it all only where you land BUT it is all enemies in that area.
      However, I really like your idea of having her attack all enemies she walks through!!

    • @Sangree2109
      @Sangree2109 Рік тому

      As already answered, when you end your movement it's 1 damage to all enemys in the same room.
      Also it's not an targeted attack as stated in the official FAQ. So enemys don't counter attack when you use Shadow Walk. Same for "Elemental Charge" spell, you don't roll the enemy die for this one.

  • @panakon366

    I agree with most of what you said except for two. Moonblade is terrible in combat until you get a proper weapon but the way she is meant to be played is to use shadow walk at the start and explore as far as you can. You can use disarm while passing through a trap and stop on a goblin room to instantly kill it. There are more traps that require agility and thus she has an advantage that way. Then on your second turn, unless you have 3 or more focus don't explore, just go and kill an already revealed goblin or disarm a trap that someone else revealed. This hero is much better in 3 or 4 player game.
    Second is Uliessa, while at first she doesn't seem that impressive, the fact that she is a hybrid is really good. She can work with lion, bear, phoenix and scarab set items wich is very impressive. The way I play her usually is mainly with a melee build for goblins and a heavy damaging spell for minions or the boss. A very strong spell on her is dungeon scry because its very easy to cast which means that most of the time you gain energy while revealing a room at the same time.
    Also I totally agree that they dropped the ball with Lara Gambit, they should have given her an explore ability instead of that stupid dagger.

    • @BoardGameOfficer
      @BoardGameOfficer  Рік тому

      Yes, I agree that Moonblade wouldn't be as bad with 3-4 players, I mainly only play at 2 player, so I have not really like her much.
      Same thing with Uliessa I think , since I play mainly at 2 player, the fact that I have to find a weapon/spell to make her better, is a little harder at 2 player than 3-4.
      But that is why I love this game because there are so many different groups of character to play and it changes the game!
      Thanks for you input! I love to hear the different ways that people play the characters!!

    I agree with the monk beeing OP. Combo him with Bed Rolls to kill goblins AND heal the group on every turn.
    The -1 on daggers and bow is about the weapon quality not about the charakters ability, I'd say.
    Maybe the ranger is that proud of his ability, he just uses a crappy bow to give his opponents a chance :D

    • @BoardGameOfficer
      @BoardGameOfficer  Рік тому +1

      Hahaha I like the thematic explanation of the ranger!
      How would the monk be able to use bed rolls and kill goblins? They are both heroic actions?

    • @Sangree2109
      @Sangree2109 Рік тому +1

      @@BoardGameOfficer Monk can get an additional heroic action with Inner Focus for spending 6 focus as a free action.
      So you can rest first if you need focus which gives the monk +5 health and +8 focus, everyone else in 2 tiles gets +2 health and +3 focus from the Bed Rolls. Then use inner Focus for another action and just attack or Tiger Strike.
      Of course you miss out one equipment slot if you want to use Inner Focus.
      Or maybe I'm wrong haha.
      I base this off a Tabletop Simulator version which seems to have some differences to the final product. In that version Bed Rolls use the armor slot and in the Appendix those are Trinkets.
      I only have the base game as physical version so I can't be 100% sure.

    Why does everyone say "to everyone in that area" with that icon that show an arrow pointing downwards (that indicate the same square)
    Nothing I read in the rules mean that is area or multi target effect.
    yes it indicate that it's the same square/tile, but that is just one target (?) for as much as the icon language explain

    • @BoardGameOfficer
      @BoardGameOfficer  5 місяців тому

      I see why that can be confusing, but it is because of the symbol before that arrow icon, with this one as an example on the ‘shadow walk’ ability it has an icon with 2 enemy symbols and that symbol means to target ALL enemies. I hope that make sense!

    • @ishinken
      @ishinken 5 місяців тому

      Hello :)
      Yes I am confused, I very much understand that it is perhaps that how it's supposed to work, that elemental charge deal "area damage"
      But I think they should have added a symbol for all these effects, they are not there.
      The symbols on elemental charge are:
      "Use a magic heroic action, any skill, skill difficulty 5, if successful, pay 2 energy, move your movement value, target on the same tile, -2 health
      So there is no symbol out of the ordinary at all that indicate that the effect happen on anything but one target :O
      If you look at "Cloud of death" as an example, it specifically has an icon that shows the range and a diamond icon with 3 enemy icons inside it
      Same with the @@BoardGameOfficer
