This is like something out of Baki , imagine someone comes outta nowhere and attacks while any one of them is enjoying a meal , you and only you are to blame if you're not ready to defend yourself, shits tough in the streets.
So this is the origin of Mr. Karate 2 in the kof timeline, I was worried that they were gonna thrash the restaurant (the business that makes them money) but glad they just handed it to Marco.
On one hand I'm kinda pissed because this probably means we won't be getting Mr. Karate as DLC... On the other hand I'm glad Mr. Karate II is really canon now and will probably AT LEAST be in the next game.
@@MrAnsatsuken There are layers to understand that. This might be tough, as im not a native speaker, but i'll try to help... First: KoF is totally separate from FF-AOF timeline. It's an "idealized" world that picks and handles the chars however it wants, sometimes taking or ignoring details from their real developments in the FF-AOF story. (Like the way young AOF chars interact with young FF chars, when AOF is a prequel of FF) It's like the only story that ever matter is the FF-AOF timeline, for those chars. The games just happen to be dead, but that's not KoF's problem... Since KoF is so arbitrary handling FF and AOF elements, maybe KoF already aknowledges Mr Karate 2 all this time, but still keeps Ryo in that form because he has to "represent" his staple AOF look. Keep in mind a KoF would NEVER have him look like the real Mr Karate 2 - remember that chars never age in KoF. Just like Terry's MOTW outfit in KoF 15 is literally just a different outfit rather than showing the true old Terry from MOTW. Think of it as cosplays. So the whole anticipation for Mr Karate 2 has no good reason. At best Ryo might get an extra outfit like Terry, now or next time. But with no implication that he became the real Mr Karate 2: older, developed personality, new moveset, etc. All because of those specific rules of KoF. That's very old "KoF official theory" but SNK never bothered explaining any of that after the 90s to newer generations.
He wasn't weaker than Geese. Is just that they had Yuri as a hostage. At the end he takes her but Ryo fights him. Only for Yuri to stop him before he kills Takuma. I thought it was pretty obvious he didn't go all out on him

One of the best endings in KoF XV, kinda disappointed that King didn't really get much like their XI ending but still great funny ending with potential for Mr Karate II.

@@BeyondDaX Yeah unfortunately, K' is still having nothing interesting since Nests Saga (was hoping Krohnen would change that), Sacred Treasures surprisingly for the 1st time didn't have an eventful ending, secret agents had kinda a lot but also nothing at the same time. Ikari Warriors same as KoFXIV, Fatal Fury was the funniest, then the majority of the rest were tame aside maybe Ash coming back to everyone's memories by the end in his ending. As for Shun'ei I couldn't care less about his story tbh.
The Kyokugenryu dojo had been in and out of debt throughout the KOF story because Ryo and Takuma insisted that all new disciples do "basic training" that could exhaust or even injure the average person. While Ryo and Takuma said that this weeds out the less-than-dedicated, it didn't do wonders for the dojo business. When the Sakazaki family opened a BBQ restaurant, they FINALLY had something the average person would pay for! To me, Ryo is something of a musclehead who is obsessed with karate, leaving him with little common sense.
Is just a sense of honor. He was the only one of the group that still trained diligently. So yeah is normal for him to be frustrated. After all Kyokugenryu started and is where it is because of the dojo Business. They never cared about money and that's the whole thing ryo tried to explain here

I love this ending because it feels like Ryo is like an expy for us fans who really wanted a serious arc for the AOF Team, with Takuma/Robert/Yuri representing SNK. Seriously, we were robbed of that arc from KOF 2k3 where Takuma was attacked and Ryo/Robert/Yuri went on a hunt for his attacker. We seriously could have had a Shenmue-like arc where Ryo/Yuri/King track down Oswald for information on Takuma's attacker since he knows Takuma well and his days as Mr. Karate I with Mr. Big, while Robert confronts Chizuru about the Orochi Seal since it's the exact reason why his master got attacked. It would have been super kino.

His expression earnest, he speaks with sincerity. She knows how he operates, and suspects this has something to do with Kyokugen or martial arts or something. But to her, there is still a slim chance this could be leading somewhere...else... Given his phrasing, King can't quite bring herself to rule out the possibility. Her cheeks flushed, she waits for him to finish. Ryo's eyes open widely, and he leans in with his hands planted on the bar counter. "King, I need to know... Would you join our team and compete with us in KOF?!" King sighs and drops her hands to the countertop, hanging her head, exasperated with herself for getting her hopes up. Ryo naturally misinterprets this: "You won't do it?!" "No, I will. I was on reserve for this KOF anyway... I'm sure Mai'll have no trouble finding teammates herself." I mean they did have dojo that teaches martial arts. Every time they enter kof and show their martial art style, lots of new students come to train under ryo's family. However because of the dojo busters, Geese's men, or Yamazaki constantly attacking the dojo, it is hard for the students to stay in a dangerous place. I am surprised no criminal in Southtown hasn't decided to attack the restaurant yet.
Was hoping Ryo wears the SERIOUS Mr. Karate Mask with Hair on the Back with the whole "Inhibits All Emotional Limits and Become Serious" and but this is cool too.
idk why they keep doin' team AOF so dirty. They're basically relegated to gag characters. If I were to change the ending, I'd have Ryo and King split from Team AOF entirely, and maybe form a new team, while the next Team AOF would be Robert, Takuma, and Yuri.
They always were gag characters because for the most part they are based on the karate fighters of street fighter. Much like how Dan from Street Fighter is basically a gag character because he is based on Robert from Art of Fighting.
I hate the AoF team in the KoF timeline. In their own timeline/Fatal Fury timeline they was strong as hell. In this time line they are muscle head idiots. Robert was my favorite character in AoF where he was equal to Ryo but in KoF timeline he’s on the same level as king probably weaker since they fought to a draw and he was struggling to beat her 1v1.

idk why they keep doin' team AOF so dirty. They're basically relegated to gag characters. If I were to change the ending, I'd have Ryo and King split from Team AOF entirely, and maybe form a new team, while the next Team AOF would be Robert, Takuma, and Yuri.

It's always been that way in case you havent paid attention. And this is far from the sillier AOF endings.
They always were gag characters because for the most part they are based on the karate fighters of street fighter. Much like how Dan from Street Fighter is basically a gag character because he is based on Robert from Art of Fighting.
Pls bring Ryo with Tengu Mask in next KoF or new DLC.

I hate the AoF team in the KoF timeline. In their own timeline/Fatal Fury timeline they was strong as hell. In this time line they are muscle head idiots. Robert was my favorite character in AoF where he was equal to Ryo but in KoF timeline he’s on the same level as king probably weaker since they fought to a draw and he was struggling to beat her 1v1.
