Stopping In the Middle of a Decluttering Project (and that's okay)

- I'm helping Hubby declutter his side of the bed as we prepped for our room to be painted. I was VERY tired, but the beauty of the No Mess Decluttering Process is that we can stop at any point in the process and the space is only better off than it was before!

Your husband is so great,he got on video with you and added to the entertainment of decluttering. I give him credit for doing that with you. Great job Bob!
Bob K. White 🤣🤣🤣
When your husband said "I'm Bob K White" I nearly died of laughter 😂 🤣 U guys are the best!
I thought that was hilarious too!
Same. I expected Bob to say "Hello. I'm Dana K White's husband." and simply left it at that.
My husband found me watching/listening to this while I was doing dishes. He laughingly commented, "Oh! So THESE are the people who have brainwashed you into getting rid of all our stuff!" So I laughingly asked, "Of all the things I've gotten rid of, how many things did I get rid of that we really wish I hadn't." Blank stare. I asked, "Is it less than 10?" He answered, "It's PROBABLY less than 10." I asked, "Is it less than 5?" He answered, "It COULD be less than 5." We had a good laugh. I love these steps you teach. They can easily be used even when we aren't exactly decluttering. So helpful. I also love your container concept. Thank you for being so down to earth and relatable.
This is exactly why I love your decluttering method…when I get tired, I can quit and the area looks better ❤ Bob did great!
I've been doing 15 min each morning this week. The 1st day my husband saw my decluttered nightstand and worried I had left him😂.
😂🎉
Oh my goodness...funny! 😂
To be fair I started a japanese decluttering method years ago and got rid of everything I didn't love anymore. Which included my partner.
Awww! Poor guy 😂
@@tiffytattoo2450Did you Marie Kondo an unsatisfying relationship?! 😂 (good for you! ❤)
Don't worry, we love you too. Reid's comments in the credits make us cackle.
I hope Bob's back is better. This was a great example of your decluttering principles and also working while not feeling 100% -- permission to stop in the middle. Thanks.
I love when you actually take us through real decluttering so much. It really helps me think of your processes when I’m doing my own! Btw Great job hubby!
Thank you for sharing that this was almost an hour of decluttering. Sometimes I second guess myself after seeing short videos, but this is a good reminder that it’s been edited down. Dana, I love your UA-cam videos and Apple Podcasts! ❤❤❤
Loved getting to meet your husband. The video ended up short but sweet and got the point across.
I have a recent decluttering with husband experience. We got a big clock for our wedding, it's personalized, and I liked it. However, it stopped working several years ago (but I left it on the wall anyway lol). I told myself that it was special and needed to be repaired. Last week, I finally got a new clock movement for it and my husband helped me take it apart. We found out that the new part was not the right size and I'd have to order another new one. My husband suggested that we get rid of the whole thing instead of hassling with it any more. I was shocked (but somewhat pleased) that something I had thought was so sentimental was finally just a broken clock that we could let go.
Isn't it ming blowing how something you think is essential really isn't when you stop and actually think about it?
Awwwww but it's still right twice a day! It's still good!! LOL seriously though kudos on letting go!
Thanks for showing us REAL footage of how to actually deal with the husband pile by the bed. Or by the office chair. Or randomly on any floor. This technique applies to so many spots throughout the house, lol. Thanks to Bob K. White and the editor - love your family!
That was such a cute video.
Loved Bob K White😂
Congrats on finishing your book! Also, as tired as you are, this is a good example of progress in small bits; stopping for much needed rest does have a place in decluttering.
Reid may be the delightful relish on the side of the plate, but Dana, you're the satisfying main dish we keep coming back for.
😂
It is kind of deflating to stop during a project when it's not completed, but I just tell myself that it is way better than it was before. And it is always important to recognize the improvement that was made! ❤
I love when I tell my husband I just want to paint and it turns into so much more.
We did new paint/flooring in the master bedroom and we got rid of soooo much stuff. We don't miss any of it and I just LOVE the space now!
It's funny, we are working on our bedroom now too. The ceiling is painted, so it is on to the walls. I can't wait until it gets put back together.
I laughed when you told your husband to just answer the question...like he was on the witness stand. Hahaha
It is so nice to see a realistic, long-time married couple. So cute!! (Hope his back feels better soon.)
Fifty minutes would be tiring. Thank you, Bob. I look forward to your new book, Dana. Thank you, Reid, for cutting that content so nicely down to ten minutes. Well done.
I love how your method is so real and down to earth that you can stop any time, because as mere mortals, we have limits.
Thank your husband for doing this with you for us. That was very kind of him. Love you videos.
We all love you Dana, but must admit…waiting on Reid’s comments do make the videos even more fun! Kind of like Cas’s stories at the end of her videos!❤😂😂😂❤
You two make THE MOST ADORABLE COUPLE. You two are definitely Soul Mates.
You have no idea how many times I've had to stop in the middle of a decluttering project.
This was sweet! Bob was such a good sport! Thank you for sharing your life with us 😊
This video was such a good example of real life decluttering. Thanks for posting.
Me, trying to see what's in Bob's TBR pile. 😁 And no Dana, we don't love Reid more, we adore you both. You're quite a team in these videos!
SAME!!!!! I wish I could zoom in LOL
Hi Bob! thanks for joining Dana today. You guys are fun on Camera together! ........(bob....pssst......) ''oh, yea, the 'container' ...'' hehe, loved seeing you and Bob today :) xxx
Now i wanna see all the cut out stuff. 😂😂😂😂😂 Loved it. Always fun when Bob comes to hang out.
A blooper video would be like the best gift ever to us‼️👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for having Bob join in! Nice to see both spouses working the process. Congratulations on finishing your book Dana! Love your take on things. Have a great day.
My husband also got the decluttering bug, and I didn’t say a word to him or even expect him to declutter his space. He’s very organized, so I didn’t even realize his shop was cluttered. I just can’t believe how much better our home looks and feels… and it happened (and will continue to happen) one step at a time.
💃Yes🙌
Loves this one :) Reid, youve got adorable parents.
While you are the main reason this is my number one help, I do look forward to anywhere from a chuckle to a full belly laugh at the end of each video because of Reid. Many thanks to both of you!
‼️Thank you REID WHITE!
You did a MARVELOUS job!
Dana, you're so lucky to have such skills in the family.
Props to your man for letting us see this. ❤ I appreciate this.
❤🎉❤Bob❤🎉❤ Your work here is an inspiration, Bob! Thank you for joining the fun!!!
That was such a good example of working together. Ya'll are such a cute couple. 🎉
Love love love the container concept. You are amazing Dana. I'm pretty tidy and organized but I still find myself keeping things because I like them (but don't use them). I even felt mean by letting go of things I like :( Now I let the container be the bad guy and decluttering is just so much easier.
❤ love this comment!
Feel like it fits into the concept, our stuff is shaming us 😊 sometimes
We LOVE you Dana‼️ Reid is 1A …. right behind you 😍🥰
The look on Dana’s face “sometimes I think they like Reid more than they like me 😒” made me cackle! 😂😂😂 While it’s true that I always look forward to Reid’s commentary, you always make me smile and laugh, Dana ❤🥰 You remind me of my mom who has a similar sense of humor and personality. 🫶🏼
Oh my! The husband!!! Wow! That courage is hot!!! Get yours, Bob! Get it!
I am right there with you. The aisle by my bed exploded back in late Feb near my youngest’s big B-day… and I haven’t gotten to it yet. Gross. Today is the day! Yeahssss! Let’s get this!
So many laughable moments in this video. Dana, your face when you said we might like Reid more than you was priceless! 🤣🤣🤣
OH no! Reid's slow roll credits didn't work! Great video and I appreciate how stopping is tough when we want to finish AND now we can because it's always better because your system WORKS!!
Well done, Reid! Nice job, Bob! Dana, you did so much guiding and running when you were tired -- excellent! (I actually do like you best!)
Congrats on the book Miss Thang. I've got my audible credit ready and waiting.......
No no, we don’t like Reid more than you. We are just delighted that he got his mama’s loving “snarky-ness” 😂 Such a wonderful producer/editor team him and you are!!
Thank you for these lessons on how to run the house.
I wish I could learn this years and years earlier!
We love a supportive husband ❤
I’m Bob K White 😂😂😂
I loved that. 😂
I love seeing you walk your hubby through the process!!! You both did a great job! I'm going to need to try this with my hubby :)
We have that same chair!😄 It was nice to see your husband in your video, and good job editing Reid!
Thank you, Bob.
Dana, your Mr Awesome is a keeper! He is so on board with the process in his own way. Great video.
Congratulations on finishing your book. Looking forward to reading it. Nice to see your husband, I remember when you helped him clear out the rather large filing cabinet.
Progress and only progress 👍🏻 This was a great example. And nice to meet your husband.
Hi I’m Bob O White!….I laughed - made me thing of a bird when he said his name! Bob hope your back feels better soon
Reid was fun to watch with you declutter. You make a great team.
This video illustrates where I am with decluttering now, do some, stop, but make progress anyway.
This was actually very helpful! Thanks!
I love that Dana says, "Big Ole"...I used to say this all the time as a teen and college student and had forgotten about it
I found 2 empty savings jars under some clean and dirty laundry piles. 🤪 🤣 😂
Uhm… probably could fill those up faster when I can see them.
And a box of books I kept tripping on. So, that’s what that was… mysteries solved today!
Love this family.
Awesome. You set a good scenario and example for so many of us. Thank you. Very gutsy and well done!
He’s so stinking sweet.
Congrats on finishing your book! Woo hoo! Oh what a feeling!🎉🎉❤❤
I just love you and your practical approach. Thank you so much for everything you continue to upload for our support!!! I have changed my house with your process and my mom is too after years of hoarding all kinds of crap we don’t need 😂😘 Love you to the moon and back!!
Thanks Bob K and Reid K!
Congratulations on finishing your book 🎉!!!
I laughed about the promoting over the container!
Thanks Bob K White for going through this with us!
You two are the cutest. I just love him and Reid too. You’re whole family ❤
Reid, great job editing ☺️
That’s so awesome that your husband has the same name as a bird - Whose call, by the way sounds like it is saying your husband’s name 😊
I will show to my husband, he is very neat but has a problem with too many sweaters
congrats on finishing ur book 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ lots of love from Brazil ❤️ 🇧🇷
Dana & Bob. Great job! ….
Love you, Dana! Thanks for joining in, Bob “K” White! 😂
Oh man, Reid just cut you completely out of the credits this time. 🤣And your face after you said you thought we liked him more. Loved it.
Love love loved you doing bideo with your husband. You are such a great couple. 😊❤
Love the videos that has the husband on 😊❤
This is my favorite video now!!!!! I would have loved to have seen more footage knowing that there was 50 min worth of decluttering going on. Bob is so funny!!! The credits didn't roll. Were they supposed to? I loved Dana's comment about the viewers liking Reid so much. It's easy to see where he gets his sense of humor.
There was a previous one at Bob K White’s workplace which was also very entertaining!
A family affair...so fun!! ❤❤❤
I can’t live without my projection clock
LOL these demonstrations are so good! And I love your humor!
That was enjoyable!
Thank you both! And Reid as well of course. 😊
LOL I had to stop in the middle of this video to take the dog out! 🤣 Came back to finish watching later in the day!
You did a great job!
We love Reid❤, but we love you too Dana, lol
🧡🧡🧡 Hehe, sweet Dana, I see you LOOKING AT US pointedly when you said sometimes you think people like Reid more 😅 btw my cousin is named Reed, double-E. So nice anytime your husband gives filming a try!
I love all of the end captions your son makes, but the last few videos have all been cut off. They don't scroll. It's just paused towards the end. Just fyi. They always make me laugh! Great job! :)
Loved this
Yall are so funny! 😂
Great job reid!
thanks again
I loved this real life example, and hope Bob's back is better. My husband threw his back out today.
??? I’m constitutionally unable to throw away recyclable stuff with regular trash so toss trash and paper/cardboard/etc. into different bags, Do you sort through the one bag later?
I don’t think their town/county offers recycling.
"sometime I think they like Reid more than they like me". Ummmmm maybe LOL
Hi Bob K White!
💚💚💚
Reid is as favorite as you two🎉
I think 7:10 is the magic sauce! Use it today and see if it’s worth keeping!
