Hi, my ISP has almost all ports close starting with 25, can I use instead Hetzner Cloud to host an email server, in order to fix this problem?
Yes, you definatelly can! If you need any help, feel free to get in touch.@@Alex-io3tu
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video I followed along and now I have my own email server ❤❤❤❤
Wonderful! Make sure to do proper IP warmup for best delivery :).
Another terrific FOSS tool. Thanks Simon!
You are welcome!
Great video Simon.
Many thanks Daniel :)
Thank you so much for this video, i was struggling with installing iredMail and wanted a better alternative. Really informative and to the point content!
You're welcome! It makes me happy, that it helped you :) If you have any issues, feel free to get in touch.
explained every detail. thank you so much
You're very welcome!
Hi, the mailcow user which you created, do we have to first run $ su mailcow and then run the remaining script? or we have to run the entire script using root?
can we have both crowdsec and fail2ban or not needed ? is any extra setup for crowdsec spesific for Email Server ?
Yes, fail2ban is part of Malcow setup, so you don't need to install it. Crowdsec is good for protecting your SSH, so go for it :)
Hi !
My Antivirus is not allowing me to access the domain because of an auto-signed certificate for the main domain...
How do you fix that here?
Thanks !
Hello. Yes, it can happen when dns is not propagated yet. Before you generate config, you need to add dns records. To fix this you need to restart acme container by this command: docker compose restart acme-mailcow
Hi @@webnestify,
Thanks a lot !
As you said, it was a matter of time as now it is working properly :)
One last question, if I may...
If I add a memory block to my VPS (in my case Vultr), do you know how can I add that memory to be available in MailCow?, because with the main HDD, the available memory is too short.
Thanks a lot !!
You can just scale up the server. That is the best way.
how to reconfigure when your service provider blocks port 25, as simply overriding - "${SMTP_PORT:-25}:25" this with some other hostport (eg: 2525) didnt work for me
You can't. You need to ask for port opening from your provider.
Amazing Video! However I have a problem. I tested my email created on mail cow on mail-tester and I get a 10/10 score . But when I send emails to Gmail and Outlook they are being received in the spam/junk folder. Any help what may be causing this?
It can happen and that's normal, because IP is new and not known. Couple emails sent and replies will sort it out.
@@webnestify Thank you for the help! Best of luck.
@@user-hv2mt7be6i anytime 🙏
Was it solved? Have you ran into some problems or its working fine?
which terminal manager are you using?
Termius and xPipe
@@webnestify is there any way to change the sogo logo and also make sogo the root url and mailcow on /admin or something? and does mailcow provide an option for creating accounts? if yes then how can I disable that
does it do email forwarding?
Yes.
Can i use these emails for cold emailing?
Is it possible to set up each domain with a dedicated Additional IP? This could enhance my deliverability.
Im buying VPS with these specifications:
6 vCPU Cores
16 GB RAM
200 GB NVMe
or 400 GB SSD
2 Snapshots
32 TB Traffic
I have 15-25 domains and i'd like to setup 2 user each domain. Is there any way i could setup each domain based on additional IP address?
Plus would you prefer using mailcow as your email server to do cold emailing campaigns?
Hello. I don't recommend using it for cold emailing, until you properly warm up your sending email IP address.
@@webnestify obviously i will warmup the domains for 3 weeks.
Will do hyper targeting - Will be relevant to the prospects - Will include unsubscribe link in the email - Will use hyper personalization+lots of spintax.
I just wanted to know if i can cold email using them, I don't want to run these emails for a long term. I'll just use them for 3-6 months max then will change the domains.
Hi There!!! You add your A and MX record via cloud provider. So if i only have selfhosted VM + port redirection where i should set up A and MX records????
In that case you must run your own locahost DNS manager. So you can add it there.
the link to your blog is not working
Thank you. It is now updated.
You didn't cover the SSL step. Shouldn't we install an SSL certificate?
Yes, because SSL is done automatically. Make sure to have A record pointed to the mail.example.com before generating config and starting the stack up.
@@webnestify In the video your web admin for mailcow does not use SSL, your browser says not Secure. Do you know how to get it on https?
Oh found it. docker compose restart acme-mailcow
@@henrikbrogregersen Yes 🙂. I done same mistake 😁
Hi 😊.. can I get my VPs from anywhere?
Hello. Yes, but make sure IP is not blacklisted 👍
u forgot to setup ssl, without ssl emails can land into junk
Yes, I know. Before you generate config, you need to add dns records. To fix this you need to restart acme container by this command: docker compose restart acme-mailcow .
Hi! Thank ypu for your video. My ips pèrovider have limit 100 email / hour. Is it possible to get aroun this problem with this server? Thank you!
You are welcome. Well, it's hard to say. If they monitor email ports, then yes. It is not possible to bypass it. I can recommend Hetzner servers.
