- The Biden White House announced they will consider a nationwide ban of TikTok if the app's parent company ByteDance, which is based in China, doesn't divest its shares in the company. And the California assembly is looking to advance a bill that would ban five food additives that some studies have linked to health issues including cancer and organ damage. Fake reviews, dark patterns and vague labeling are just some of tactics at my disposal. The FDA is on record saying a 'Junk-food' tax is not feasible, and they pushed back on labeling reform due to lobbying from the food industry… In summary, we have many ways to manipulate those with a ‘it’s just common sense’ approach.

This candy is marketed to children. Their bodies are smaller and have higher chances of getting sick from the chemicals.

They have banned certain things from cigarettes, as well as funded anti commercials, etc. Cigarettes can't be made that much safer as they are inherently risky themselves. Skittles don't need to be because there are alternatives and so the goal is to inspire companies to make changes eventually with that added pressure. Because they're marketed to kids and not inherently dangerous if the ingredients change, it's very different than cigarettes. CA is in fact banning flavors of vape pens that are targeted at children in some peoples' eyes, similar to what you are wishing for

Most studies are flawed. The results are just chance or they don't take into account other variants that could be the real cause of the results.

They're not banning the candy, they're banning toxic ingredients that are being used in the candy (or at least in their US versions). The likelihood is that these companies will switch to their European recipes, which are already in compliance with the regulations that California is putting through.
