Those last 3 words are a double entendre. 1. I wrote (the song) Stan 2. I wrote (a letter to) Stan - meaning he gave his fans what they expected from him
it is his imperfection that makes him perfect. His vulnerability that makes him strongest. It is that which I love the most about him. He is the most human in his music.
Eminem is hands down the best lyricist there is. His lyrics are so technical it's art. The way juice wrld could make music and put freestyles together with music made him an artist as well.
I just love this song so much. It's such a poetic masterpiece. the pictures he uses hit me right in the guts - house burned down and all that's left is lawn, and the trapeze-picture... just sooooo good. And obviously, I love the ending. It kicks everyone who's drifting into despair and sorrow for him back up like "Nope, I'm still one of the greatest, my work already IS legendary! Ha!" Love it. Edit: Oh, and the tightrope-line is so good, too. Because he's walking on a tightrope - the music-industry is a hard place to balance, hard to stay on top without falling - but he also said that it's a tightrope HE made. Out of blood, sweat and tears, poverty and hardship and marriage-issues and drug-issues and every hard deal he'd gotten - he took all of those twines and used them to make songs, to put his anger out and to air his issues for others to see (which is why I love his music so much and I admire him as a person so much - because he shares (some of) his life with his fans and isn't afraid to be seen as imperfect, to show emotions in a genre that is built on people being tough and hard) Eminem made his own way, his own rope to stand on and he's not using someone else's rope to walk on. Love that image.
Such a powerfully vulnerable, emotionally brave, incredibly honest and important song. One of the greatest of his career IMO. And that woman singing? Well, that’s the ethereal goddess herself, Beyoncé.
I’m re-watching old videos and MY GOD you’re so enjoyable to watch. I feel like you’re a really gifted empath and that’s what makes you such a good therapist and reactor 🫶🏼

I always forget about this track but a soon as it comes back up I'm reminded of how great it is. I really needed to hear this message today. Thank you!
Em’s honesty about his imperfection and sharing his personal growth is what I love about him. This some is a beautiful fusion of Beyoncé with the chorus and rap, just like his other major collaborations.
Tom, great job, keep it up. Also, Eminem is well tuned in to the reaction scene. So I have no doubt he will come across your reactions, if he hasn't already. He will love the breakdown from this stand point. Music is his therapy, his release. Great work. As I have seen in a few comments already, this leads right into "Believe" on the album. Check it out. Also, one of his newer songs to check out would be "Higher". It has an official video. Also, "Untouchable" lyric video on Eminem's page.
You mentioned Stan, you should check out 'Bad Guy' from MMLP2 which is stan part 2! You will love it, ems story telling is fucking out of this world, prepare for the last verse! Also love the reactions to NF and Eminem, keep em coming!
I don't have words for how much I love this song! his only competition is himself at this point.. he's set the bar up so high that when he still puts out something good but not exceptional, people hate it...
Thank you for the reaction, remeber being at awe watching the video when it was released, still gets me to this day. Also remember how Jahseh defended it, cause it's such an inspirational song. Btw, considering Stan, there is a sequel to it, Bad Guy, from Marshall Mathers LP 2, outstanding track.
Damnit, ok, 15:30 I took an OLD "Digital" Typewriter home from the library in order to type my papers for school (not a great situation at that time), and used to DREAM of am old "Mechanical" typewriter. Gods I miss those days.
I've watched this music video many times, but just now I realised that the statue in the middle of the ice field is a simbol for a song. Every time he writes it feels like walking on ice, but when he gets there and rips a cloth off it we are able to witness a masterpiece like "Stan".
You should check out Eminem- Brain Damage it’s an amazing song that will show you how Eminem was when he was young also Rock Bottom and 97 Bonnie & Clyde all off sslp and all amazing all made in 1999!
Great reaction, Thank youuuuu! It's a little sad that this was the first song on the album (Revival) and it needed to be listened to but no one actually listened to the words... everyone just crapped on the entire album based on the track list and features. So just as the song predicted, people harped on him. But this time, it hurt cause he poured his heart out on this song and some of the others... but then we got Kamikaze right after and he let them all know. Revival is one album that is played from front to back consistently. It's overhated for no reason at all.

only real eminem fans from lste 90s early 2000s or people genuinely willing to understand, can undersrand the arc marshall has had. From slim shady, to eminem, to marshall mather’s he’s continuously proved the masses wrong. with this whole album people came at him differently and it’s because he is trying to move away from that dark past. he understands he made greatness back then but he also understands it comes from a dark place. he’s putting into words that people only want one thing and that’s slim shady hence “washing out the blonde”. it’s a metaphor for people only wanting a certain side of someone without taking into consideration what a person has or is going through. he’s showing people life isn’t all about putting yourself forward attending to everyone’s means, you have to be yourself it’s just hard doing it.
We really need you to do Rock bottom, Brain damage (Slim Shady LP), my Darling (Relapse) and brainless (Marshall Mathers LP II). This might be his greatest songs.
This song is a masterpiece the way Em bared his heart & soul onto this track was just so emotional and yet so revealing Beyoncé vocals are amazing too this song has a sad yet uplifting message towards the end and to answer your question this album got heavily criticized just cause Em chose to take a different creative direction from his previous albums which was unexpectedly great and yes it’s a masterpiece Em The Goat!👊🏽🐐🔥💯(Please React to Eminem “Beautiful Pain” Ft. Also, that statue - well, in the video-making-off, it's just a car ;) But I think it symbolizes how people put their artists on a pedestal and see them as something larger than life and it's something that a) is different for every single fan (some admire his skills, some his honesty, some his beats - whatever) and b) is nothing the artist themself can really maintain. There's a German song called "Denkmal" which means "statue" or rather "monument/memorial" and the chorus goes like this: "Hol den Vorschlaghammer: Sie haben uns ein Denkmal gebaut, wo jeder Vollidiot weiß dass das die Liebe versaut. I'll hire the worst graffiti-sprayers of this city who shall smirch the rubble with bad slogans" (it rhymes in German ;-) ) I've always interpreted the lyrics in the way that putting someone on a pedestal - be it an artist or a person you love - kills the passion and love they have for whatever it is they're put on the pedestal for. That being immortalized makes someone static and immovable and well... basically stone. So the band calls people to tear down that statue and break it apart so they won't be static and can still be living, breathing things.
