Great review! I bought a couple cans of white and wanted to see how it would react before i throw it on. Obviously these are for short term but great in=depth wear and tear and cleaning review.
Great video bud! I have some insights having worked with the product and PD over the years. I bought this as it's got a nicer gloss than PlastiDip. Although PD Piano Black is really nice, its their HyperDip formula that doesn't play nice in higher humidity (+50%). Anyway, I tried a couple different things and found best adhesion was actually over a couple coats of PD Matte Black, but BE WARNED...the peelability isn't as good over PD as I ran a couple different tests. If you want longest durability, I'd use at least 1 or 2 primer coat of the PD, again, it wont be as easy to peel. If you just want to use the RO, I think a light scuff (500-600g) on especially smooth surface would help the Rust Oleum adhere better, but I haven't tested that. Obviously, if you did scuff and wanted to return to OEM, you'd have to do some polishing to remove scuffing. If you don't have experience polishing out sanding scuffs, DON'T SCUFF ANYTHING! LOL iF I'm giving PD a 9 (based on years of exp with it), I'd give RO a 7 overall, maybe an 8 with that glossy black finish, but not as durable as the PD alone IMO. Don't forget to prep the shit out of the surface, soap with agitation and IPA after at MINIMUM, otherwise you'll get fisheyes which are a pain in the ass to cover, and if you've got a big area separating on first coat, take the L and start that over, otherwise you're not getting a good bond on that area. If using on a mounted tire, I learned the hardway, Mask your brakes FIRST!!! When you go to all that trouble to prep the surface then reach in to mask the cal/rotors, you'll undo your prep on any surface your skin or even a sleeve with fabric softener might touch. Also, make sure you have a tire dressing on. This stuff DOES NOT want to release from tires. I'd highly recommend this product for badges, trim etc...as for wheels, my jury is still out. Lessons learned, hope this helps guys!
First of all congrats on new baby I have kids myself and so yeah I'm on a budget so I appreciate you showing away for temporarily to do that cuz I actually have the same paint haven't tried it yet cuz I've been looking for a good video and you're the first one that came across that I actually like and that was you know easy showing how to do it and Pacific so I appreciate it thank you keep up the great work
@@TheSnyds alright alright thank you man, start searching something for some places to get some wrap I'm going to start tomorrow morning going to put my Z1 spacer new mirrors bumpers and a few other things once I get it done might send you a picture or two thanks for all the information man but I do appreciate it keep up the great work of being honest goes far in life God bless you and your family man keep it up
I barely bought a scatpack and the lower lip cracked up! I Jb welded it but now the blob is there ! Was thinking of sanding it down a little and then maybe adding some of this stuff just to cover it up? What do you think???🔥
I tried it today on my rims and the consistency of the spray coming out is clear with not very much pigment. Not only that it isn't really covering/ sticking to the wheels. I washed the with dawn dish soap and scrubed with rough side of sponge. I wonder if it's a product defect 🤔 I ordered off Amazon
can somebody help i did this and the paint dont stay on the rim, its just leaving spots all over. maybe the weather has something to do? i did it in my cold garage in new york. ????
@@TheSnyds thanks! Great video, thank you for going into detail with the tests and all. I want to do my wheels, and some chrome trim as well. I might just have the wheels painted and do the trim with this vinyl paint since the trim is less prone to rocks etc
More people need to like this for the honesty and transparency!
Appreciate that. Not gonna lie for views haha. Gonna give this a go?
The first coat of this needs to be really light just so the second coat can have something to stick to. Very thin but once it's layered it's good.
Great video. I wish more videos were honest reviews like this. Good practical tests
Thanks for the feedback!
this is perfect for younger drivers to modify their cars cheaper and effectively!
I'm 43 young that used this on my tundra.
Thank you sir. We appreciate the help. I'm shaking up my can now...
Haha sounds good! Let me know how it goes

Appreciate it. Just wanted to be honest and transparent
Thank you for the examples. Nice job.
I’ve plasty dip my wheels in the past the plasty dip holds up.
Thanks, great video! Probably one of the most honest and well described! Seriously appreciate this 👍🍻
Thanks my guy ! I just bought a few cans and going to put on my Benz c 230 from what I saw it’s quite impressive!
It works pretty well. But I ended up putting super wrap on my wheels. They are holding up pretty well!

@@TheSnyds quick question I bought me a urethane bumper for the front and the back what would you recommend would be better to paint it or to wrap it
Personally I would wrap

@@jenningswest8779 thanks! Good luck on your end too. I always use vivid vinyl
Thanks for thos video. Gonna do my emblems with this
Glad it helped!
Great video I plan to use some of that rustoleum black on my Mazda I 30 to black it out the chrome.
Thanks for the clips. What about putting a clear coat on after the plastic wrap?

That would work pretty well for that!
You can always retouch to spray it on since it’s just temporary
Thank you!!!
Very nice video and review, so with your experience would you think this will hold up well for interior use for a car for trim prices?
I'd say so!
Good video! Thanks!
What is you sanded it first
Can you spray the Gloss Black on top of the Matte Black to achieve a glossier sheen on the vinyl coat ?
I haven't tried that. But I'd imagine it would work for a short time

That's def weird. Did you shake it up and everything
@@TheSnyds vigorously as directed. Thanks for responding. Hope you have a blessed night.
Just keep shaking like 5-10 minutes you can't shake it enough
Would it have helped if you sanded the wheel, washed and agitated, then a primer or adhesive before applying the liquid wrap?
Honestly no
@@TheSnyds as long as the surface is cleaned and completely dry then applying this wrap is as easy as making pie?
@@zumezoom9593 I'd say even easier haha. I will say, I ended up using the super wrap and it's held up awesome over the last year
@@TheSnyds thank you. I'm gonna try it
No scuffing it will make it harder to peel off when you want to. And try to do 5-8 coats if you can
The paint ran so bad off my rims on the first coat. I have to get like 3 more cans
I don’t understand what’s this for? Is paintable vinyl?
Basically yes.
@@TheSnyds coooool thanks
Nice video brother were can I get this at
I have it linked under the video
can somebody help i did this and the paint dont stay on the rim, its just leaving spots all over. maybe the weather has something to do? i did it in my cold garage in new york. ????
Warm your can up
For $15, it beats having to pay for someone to spray/wrap a car part for 50x more
100%
So basically this stuff is impractical for wheels.
Def not long term. But still great for short term

I used this and it just dripped
Did you go too heavy?
how long would it last ?
So many variables. I'd say months if taken care of
Te quedo muy bonita, y demostraste ue se puede hacer en la casa un domingo. Ok
Will this last during a car wash
We talking a drive thru car wash?
@@TheSnyds both of them
Never ran it through a car wash. I ended up choosing superwrap on my wheels actually!
