Man Bavarian SimTec are making the nicest wheels on the market in my view. Stunning build quality, aesthetics, functionality and attention to detail - right down to the packaging, the stickers, and the box itself. It's the little things that all add up. The Omega One is my absolute dream wheel... I just wish they were sold here in Australia! I should also say the quality of your videos has really stepped up. Great review, well done.
Thx mate. Getting better with each video. Key is just being patient. Getting a new mic is next for the new mirrorless camera. The wheel is amazing. And keep your eye out, there will be a refresh of the Omega Pro coming in the not too distant future. So just keep your eye out on it. The pro is an amazing wheel.
Ordered one with your link, saved $30 thanks. My first BST wheel, I've had all the high end wheels (Porsche RSR, MPX, Artura Pro, Hyper P1 ... too many to list) so this one looks really interesting. I especially like the chunkier grips.. Thanks! :)
@@grayzedynamics This really reminds me of a GSI X-29 but better. I loved the X-29 but it was a little small with those small grips. Try the GSI GT-Max 32 if you can. I love the size for GT racing as well as the grips. Feels so much more in control! Keep up the reviews :)
@damiengvideos4337 nice. One day maybe I'll get the chance to review it. The grips of the Alpha are so much better. It's literally night and day between the 2.

Nice. You will love it. Grips are amazing. Features are one of a kind and appreciate the sub and purchase. You'll have to come back and let me know how you like it.
Great review! Love the led for the encoders but I see why other wheels doesn't use it, they have the knob with the point vs round. Also multifunctional encoders should be the gold standards for all future premium wheels. Been using it on Artura Ultimates and its great to have. I still have the right encoders not map to anything and that's 24 buttons alone for that encoders 🤣 Now I'm just hoping the SL AMG wheel have multifunction 😢
I agree, mutli-link needs to be on every wheel and it saves you so much and adds so much value. We just need companies to continue to innovate and push the envelope forward. That is why I think with the tech on here, it currently has the best set of features on any wheel. It is another step forward for us sim racers at a pretty good price point.
Hi. Thanks for the review, I was waiting for it. I like the BST Alpha very much, but there are other steering wheels, GRID MPX, Ascher Artura Pro, I can't decide. I would like to know how many total outputs can be programmed from the Alpha. To me it came up with 56, which would mean that the Artura Pro can have more 90. But I could be wrong.
You may be right, but I’m always lost with how many inputs a wheel can have. When I count I’m somewhere similar in count, however I never use them all. Even the inputs I have, I have unmapped buttons. If you need the MOST inputs then yes you are right, but I have a button box, DDU, 2 stream decks and a lap timer. I have more inputs than I could count and don’t use half of them. I think the MPX isn’t in the same league. Arturo pro looks nice but the beamtec makes up for a lot and the grips are amazing. But I haven’t had all of them. I do know Dan Suzuki has, and he’ll have a review soon.
Hi, love the review and super interested in this wheel now. I run a Moza R21 V2, what would you advise to connect to the Moza QR, do I need a spacer or can I open the wheel up and connect with captive screws? Thanks for any advice.
Thanks mate. Appreciate it. They have a link on the site where you can see all the fitment. So it all depends on if you run spacers or not. For the QR to fit you will need to use a spacer or get the Simagic 50 mm and the QR adapter plate. If you want to run the same Moza QR. You will want to get the Bavarian Simtec 50mm spacer which comes with the screws.
I wish there were more companies making high end round wheel button plates like the Ascher B16/24. I like everything about the ascher one except for the cheap looking/feeling buttons and the fact that theres no funky switch on it.
Hoi would you compare it to the GSI X-29? Is the feeling the same? Is it a good update? In doubt with this Wheel and the GSI hyper SL. I have X-29. Nice revieuw
So this is much better than the X-29, I actually compare them at the end. I will be comparing this to the Hyper SL here really soon, but I think the Alpha is better than both. You get more than the X-29 and the Alpha is about $200 more.
well now logitech have released an adapter for the g pro i can buy a 3rd party wheel.. things like this are well out of my price range but still enjoy the content.. have a sub
Thx for the sub mate. And you never know. Maybe not today, but ya never know what the future brings ya. And it's about time they offer more for the G-Pro. Glad they did.
Excellent review and I love the comparisons near the end of the video. The wheel is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. It kinda looks a bit like a monster pretzel 🥨 with sexy lights. Sorry just a few questions: Does the large sticker at the center stain easily or collect obnoxious fingerprints / dust easily? If so can it be replaced without ruining the wheel? Does sweat or oily prints collect on those beefy grips over longer sessions of racing? Any noticeable flex or twisting at the center or near the weaker points? Is the wheel heavy with the QR? Are the paddles made of carbon fiber or aluminum? Are the holes in the paddles meant to make it lighter or have less sound? One thing worth noting: it’s amazing how they made the plus and minus (a symbol cutout) on the shifters as well: that’s excellent attention to detail. You can even see that from the front of the wheel set just behind the grips, and it just adds an extra nice touch of elegance to the overall design. How about the rotary knobs? Are they aluminum as well? Any cheap plastic on this wheel? Does the force feedback feel any different with this wheel than the other similar wheels on the market? How does it feel when turning at an apex or when you adjust the settings during the race? Will they add the adaptive beamtec to other games like LMU or AMS2? The pitstop app is that a windows app and does it work with this wheel? If you run that to do your settings does it override simHUB by any chance or vice versa? Are the lights on the rotary dials, buttons and rpm bright enough? Any need of a powered usb hub or just a standard usb connection to the pc is fine? I guess the wheel won’t fit back into the box with a QR mounted? Is the spacer already installed on the wheel when you order it? If so, then is there adequate space to install the QR? Does it come with the screws to mount the QR? Could they have added two more buttons at the back for extra functionality? It’s true that it’s super important not to be able to see the screws at the front, again that’s unique to this wheel and a definite plus. Thanks for the review 👍
Hi and thanks for the feedback. The Sticker in the middle will get finger prints but is easy to wipe clean. As far as grips, I think that is subjective and I say that b/c I do not have that issue w/ the grips, but when I let my son use my wheel occasionally, he has sweaty hands so I have to clean afterward but it just wipes clean with no issues. I think it will depend, but I personally do not have that issue. No flex or twisting and as far as weight, I am using an NRG QR and it still does not feel heavy. I have used GSI wheels and they feel much heavier. Paddles are made of carbon fiber and feel nice in hand. I do not think the shifters are loud at all, but you could always add a rubber pad to dampen the sound it it is too loud. Feedback feels great and I think as long as you have 8nm or more you would be fine, of course I personally think 12 is more ideal. The goal is to add BeamTec to other titles as long as it supports it and outputs the data to be used into BeamTec. The would like to have as many sims as possible but that requires the games to support the data via simhub. They are developing a new app that will work with the wheels. They previewed it at ADAC. I would always recommend a powered USB hub b/c of the LED's and the power draw. Spacer is not installed when it arrives. The box is not big enough to accommodate. QR is easy to install, just depends on the type of QR, they have a page that is dedicated to which QR you are using. The wheel is worth it by far. Great wheel for sure.
@ thank you so much for answering my long list of questions. This Barbarian wheel, 🛞 oops I meant Bavarian wheel, certainly does look great and your review and feedback is super informative and useful: especially to those who are deciding to purchase this bad boy 👍
I thought it said simagic Al0ha review haha. Also I like tacky also! No gloves for me either! Love love chunky grips and I don't even have big hands. I hate thin grips. Btw vnm has a 32nm wheelbase out now and all I've heard from peoppe who ahve compared it to simucube and simagic is that it has 25 to 50% more detail depending on the sim. I'm like damn I must try one now! Haha
Simagic :D Yes, I think these are amazing Grips and if you never use the Omega Pro, these are easily the best grips, but the slight tackiness on the grips is such an amazing thing without gloves. I have heard about the VNM base, that sounds awesome. They are really bringing the heat. 32nm is crazy too. Like I dont use anything past 16. lol
@grayzedynamics yeah I can't do 32nm that's just insanity. But from what I'm hearing it has so much details even set lower like an insane amount and unheard amount. I can see vnm blowing uo into a massive brand for it's detail. These are people I trust saying it that have been accurate with my wheelbase so I'm like mind blown. 25% more in iracing? And 50% more in acc? That's an insane amount of detail every bump, road texture, suspension, tires etc. Can't imagine.
@grayzedynamics dude I so hipe you grt one to review and actually keep. I have a feeling if either of us used one we would never want to let it go haha. I never expected vnm to come out with something at such a next level that it's 25 to 50% more detail then the highest ranked wheelbase ever made. Thats insane to me.
Yes they are etched onto the wheel. Of course you can map what you want but yes you wouldn’t have arb unless you assigned to a button and used a sticker.
Ascher Mclaren Artura PRo is all the way to go! yes i tested it and it is best rim i tried, ergonomics fantastic button laser engraved with out stupid sticker. This Alpha ofcourse is great but my bet is on Ascher ;)
It’s all about preference for sure, however, I would say you’d have to try both. Looking at them both, Alpha can do everything the Arturo pro can do, however, you can’t say that in reverse. So already a leg up for BST. As for grips I haven’t used both but I think ultimately I’d need to review the pro as well.
