Free food!! We love free food!! And you thought you wouldn't have a garden...as you say, "It's in the blood." I can say with full confidence that I'll not have a garden, because it isn't in my blood at all!

May I ask what climate you're in?
I live in hot and humid Texas and am looking for a way to store potatoes.
We don't have root cellars or basements in our part of Texas. The water table is too high as I understand it.
We've always just grown spring new tators and eaten fresh. I can them but I'm the only one who does in the family.
I'd like to preserve my potatoes and winter squash I'm going to grow this year.
    I love finding free food!
It's nettle and poke season here. I've only gotten a small bit of nettle for tea so far but I need to get out and get it done before they go to seed.

We are in southeastern NC. Very sandy soil. An hour from the ocean. I would love to get some nettle! Thanks for visiting today! Blessings!
