Simply Amanda's Homestead Sampler
Приєднався 5 гру 2020
Welcome to the Homestead Sampler! I have learned alot during these years to make my husband's paycheck STRETCH while he has worked as a diesel mechanic to provide for his family. He works hard outside of the home, while I work hard inside the home to make it during these uncertain economic times we are in. Learn Old Fashioned Home Economics to make your pantry stretch during the good times and bad. Grocery hauls. Pantry recipes. Couponing. Canning. Victory garden. Doing whatever I can to achieve a level of preparedness for the uncertain times we are in... ALWAYS trusting JESUS with the outcome!
I pray I am a blessing in this new era of uncertainty we are now living in! Blessings!

Love this ❤ my kind of place
It'll get better. I'd keep the Annabelle cup. If it's keeping everything cool, then it's a keeper. 😊 Blessings!
Yep! It's a keeper! Blessings!
Beautiful 🦋
Alligators can be just as bad as sharks😢
Hi, Amanda! You do live in a beautiful place. It's about 3 hours for me to get to the National Seashore on the Gulf of Mexico, but I love going down there. You mentioned sleep and I'm really having a hard time with sleep at the moment. I don't have trouble getting to sleep, but I do struggle to stay asleep. I'm working on solutions. I hope you find your solution, as well. Thanks for the video. I enjoy watching.
Not staying asleep is my issue too. Up about every hour! It's exhausting! 20 minute cat naps in the afternoon save me! I pray you get some better sleep. It really does make such a difference! Have a great weekend in THE LORD! Blessings!
It's going to be 96 here today and I was sweating bullets working in the garden @09:00. If I don't get out by 10:00 then I don't go. Even then it's brutally hot. I live 5 miles from the ocean and never go. Guess I should every once in a while.😄. The sound is so peaceful. Blessings 💜
We aren't that hot yet, but it's getting there 🤣 ! Same here about in the garden no later than 10 a.m. Back out after 6 p.m. if needed. Most of the time if I do go to the ocean it's at 5 a.m until about 10. Less crowds and heat. Thanks for visiting JT! Blessings!
You are my down to Earth anchor. Hugs!
😊😊😊😊😊
Beautiful 💞
And a beautiful landscape it is. Thanks for sharing.

Dollar store. Please send more seeds. Every send I bought are all good ones. I plant all year long. I need more seeds. On another note if you can not grow morning glories something is wrong. I planted papa ott morning glories from the dollar store and they come back every year. You just have to water them until they get growing. Although I want more vegetable seeds. Please send more seeds. Cucumbers, squash, beans, ect. Just send the whole vegetable box 3 to 4 times a year. I will stock pile them for next season.
That's good to know. I have planted their marigolds and have had success. As I stated in the pinned comments, the morning glories did not sprout, I can only comment on what I know personally. Thanks for visiting! Happy Gardening! Blessings!
@@simplyamandashomesteadsampler Morning glories sprout in spring and when warmer. Every year they make seed pods. You can collect them if you want when the plants dry out. The pods fall on the ground, and spout next year. Each pod has several seeds in it. They are a very hardy plant. Totally worth the seed price if you like morning glories. The hummingbirds, and butterflies love them also. Good for attracting pollinators to your garden.
Hi, Amanda! That's an interesting place for an outhouse, but when you need one, well, there it is! I've always wanted some land out in the country to retreat to, but my husband says we're too old. He thinks he needs to be closer to hospitals. By the way, he's never spend a night in the hospital in his life. Isn't it funny what different people worry about? Thanks for the video. I enjoyed the scenery.
Beautiful polishes 💙
The Dollar Tree seeds were no good! I can't attest to their other seeds but the Morning Glory seeds did not sprout!
Hi, Amanda! That's a good trick to know. Thanks for the video. I hope you have a wonderful day!!
Thank you! You too! Blessings!
Hugs!
Thanks for sharing your garden! ❤ Here on the Canadian Prairies I won't be planting until later in May! The last of our snow just disappeared about a week ago. ago.
Hi, Amanda! The garden is looking great. Weather here in Central Texas is up and down. We will be getting rain for the next 10 days if the forecast holds out. We've had hail twice this spring and the upcoming weather is likely to be severe at times. As you know, I don't garden, but the other plants like trees, shrubs and flowers take a beating with the hail. Hot and humid is what summer is here, but right now the rain is keeping us cooler. Regardless, we run the air conditioning. We don't live on acreage, but rather in a subdivision, so security is an issue. Open windows, especially at night, would not be a good idea for us. I hope your cabbage toughs it out!! I know God will bless your efforts. Have a lovely day, Amanda!
Beautiful Cantry
Label the fronts of the jars so you can see their contents at a glance...
I love my dollies!
Chickens love to forage
A tank dolly comes in handy for moving propane tanks.
A hand truck. I also have a heavy duty yard wagon
I have a wagon but I need to pump up the tires. But I like the idea of a dolly.
Wow! You sure got a lot prepped! Good for you! Amazing!🎉👍
I'm a firm believer of a dolly. I threw my back out a couple of days before we had to move, in 2004. The hand dolly was the only way the move could be completed. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing ❤ I love watching you because you’re so real and down to earth ❤️ you have a blessed day ❤️
Love you! Great video. HUGS!
It's true, don't try to carry stuff by hand as we get older! My husband built me a little wagon for hauling stuff around the yard, or for really heavy stuff we use the quad & a little pull behind trailer.
I need a little wagon too! Blessings!
Blessings Amanda❤
Blessings to you too Dorothy!
Hi, Amanda! Everyone who owns a home should have a dolly. When our son went to college and we had to move him in and out of the dorm over and over again for four years, we also invested in a couple of foldable 2 in 1 hand trucks (dollies). They saved our backs for sure!! The brand we bought was COSCO, but I notice on Amazon there are several brands available. I love that they fold up and fit in the trunk of my car and are light enough for me to handle. My personal advice is just don't get old. I've done it and it is very boring! Thanks for the video!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! Blessings dear friend!
💯😍
I love this video ❤❤
That's a beautiful loaf of bread❤
It's a beautiful day! 😁❤ I also use my crackpots all the time. Love cooking in them. So easy & delicious. Thank you for the video.
I love this! I love making already made ahead meals..I boiled up about 3-lbs of potatoes with half a dozen eggs, once done I used 2-lbs of the potatoes and mashed them so we have mashed potatoes for sides (I learned to freeze leftover mashed potatoes in quart size freezer bags many years ago which I love ..also learned to cook up lots of rice and freeze for a quick side or for making fried rice, rice pudding) then the remaining potatoes and 4-eggs I turned into potato salad for the next 3-lunches..cooked up 8-hot dogs used 4-for my sons and husbands lunches so that takes care of 2-days lunches for them..some of the mashed potatoes got used as a side for Buffalo coated chicken thighs w-nights ago and now tonight side for a ham steak dinner..easy peasy,…I found French bread marked down to .30 a loaf at Walmart (bought 6-loaves to share some with our sons) so I used 1-loaf and made garlic bread last night..today I think I will make more garlic bread to freeze and use the remaining loaves to make seasoned bread crumbs..had a little bit of 1-cup of tomato sauce leftover from a previous meal so put a can of chopped clams in the sauce , boiled some penne and gave that to my husband with the garlic bread for his supper last night with another mela leftover for him tomorrow for his lunch since we are having a ham steak dinner tonight..stretching those meals as best I can..I had made a semi homemade peanut butter mouse chocolate cake for our deserts over the past 3-days..tonight we will finish it up..
Carolina sauce is my favorite. Great to have a day started early. HUGS!
👍👍👍😀
Hi, Amanda! I've never heard of that invasive plant you talked about. I don't garden, but I certainly enjoy seeing what others do in their gardens. Thanks for the video. Have a lovely day, Amanda!!
Great video! HUGS!
This is the beef roast I buy. I buy a chicken somewhere else and I can our own burger. I can’t make the roast beef any cheaper or better than this!
Great review! I've had the Keystone ground beef, chicken, and beef. All are great IMO. Honestly, I can't tell the difference than the fresh stuff. I'd think even if you were picky, you would BARELY be able to tell the difference.
I do the same Amanda! I chop up onions & peppers so they are ready in the freezer. Also, cooked meat that's ready to use in casseroles & soups.
The lasagna looks yummy! I'm going to try that with the white sauce & the pesto!
Great idea.👍. Many meals I make require a chopped pepper and onion. I'm going to cut them up then vacuum seal them. Don't think you need to worry about the Red Feather Butter. Alaska Prepper has opened cans years past the best-by date and it was fine. Come to think of it, I bet all of mine are past the best-by. Question: can you freeze cabbage? Have a blessed .💗🌺
Ty! Yes, I freeze it. It thaws a little limp but if frying it up, that's not a problem. Actually speeds up the cooking process. I want to dehydrate some. Next on my list! Blessings!
