The patience of a farmer simply amazes me. To be able to plant something and wait weeks, months or even years to see the results it's just beyond my imagination. 🌳

I just LOVE Jessie….watching her grow with DeJay and Daniel and seeing her go to a new LOVING HOME within my must-watch channels is such a joy!!! I would love to see another Arms Family donkey come and join her…they’re gonna be having babies before too long. Maybe once they get weened we can see one of Jessie’s sisters come and join her!

Jason the Tree Climber. 🌳 I just knew it!!! Tree Climbers are a special group of souls.
I used to climb this big beautiful sycamore in our village center and just watch the world go by. Now a days I'm content to sit on a bench under that same tree. Life is Good.
Jason's making some wonderful Tree Buddies there. 🙏

Magnolia trees are the symbol for Luck and Stability. They will look beautiful by the front gate entrance. It's good you and Brooke planted those trees 3 years ago. They look like they are thriving well and will provide for many birds and animals as well as protect your garden from winds. It's funny how the Sherrif was following you as you went to check on the Emerald Green Eggs. I agree Jason, I like to gently break away the root ball on trees, bush, rose or anything I'm planting. Very nice of the family to donate the Dogwood Trees. Reminds me of a movie "American President" Love seeing Mildred Road - I bet she is happy she has her name on the stall. So happy to hear that Brooke is feeling a tiny bit better and is able to get out and about. Even a MaryCarl sighting! Oh what a wonderful video. Have a blessed day. 🥰🥰👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Jason & Brooke. Thank you for the great report. We live in zone 7/7a and moved 12 shrubs once and 5 rose bushes 2 times, all are doing great. Our local nursery said move them in the winter, they will wake up in the spring and never know they were moved. We planted 25 Arborvitae's along a fence for a wind break with Red Ribbon Rose shrubs in-between the Arborvitae's. I'm so glad I found you channel thank you for you knowledge. Have a super day.

It's time to get out and plant. The green thumb is itching. We moved into a farm house that my in laws bought. The elderly couple had planted a magnolia tree right in front of the large picture window with a large side windows. This tree was full grown and tore the roof and facing board real bad. Roots were tearing the base of the house. You need to read how big they get. They put holly bushes in front of the front walkway. It was a trash catcher. Corn leaves and stray cotton would pile under them in the fall/winter. Mice heaven. This video reminds me of what my husband and I did to our farm house in the late 80. Mom's favorite tree was the dogwood. In East texas that's the first tree to bloom and you know it's spring. I love springs birth.

Cool thing about Magnolias... if you leave the bottom limbs intact and let them grow to the ground, a lot of the old leaves and cones will fall inside and not make such a mess in your yard. It mulches the tree. Plus, on a warm summer evening, you can pick one of those blossoms and float it in a shallow bowl of water. They give off the most wonderful, lemony scent. ❤

How do you stop the neverending root sprouts. Mom has one large tree but a jungle of overgrown roots & shoots. Too close to the house. Gutters stay clogged, and it would destroy the home if falls. Sadly think it has to go. 😢

    • @gardenersuze3328
      @gardenersuze3328 8 місяців тому +1

@@Noneyun courtesy of Google. magnolia root system is very wide, up to four times the width of the tree canopy. In fact, magnolia tree roots spread farther than those of most trees. If your house is within root range, the roots can work their way into pipes under your house. As they do, they damage your home’s structure and/or plumbing system.
Sadly, I agree, it seems it would need to go. Can you plant a new one in another spot?

@@tracysmith7935 I've never had any problems with them. We pruned the suckers off each year to keep the tree shape. We did this along with trimming all of the other trees and shrubs. When the trees have all of their leaves out, I go around with colored yarn so that I can tie it around any dead limbs or branches. In the winter I then go around cutting off all of the marked limbs and branches.

I have always adored magnolia trees and the lovely, fragrant flowers. Dogwoods appear so delicate yet beautiful. I have a 25+' tall magnolia tree on my property and a mature, lovely pink dogwood tree. Once I purchase another house I plan to research the price to have both moved to my newer home. I fear it will be quite expensive but they were very special to my parents and myself. Plus at my age I won't live long enough to see a small tree mature. (When we selected our head markers for our burial plots we all 3 agreed on the only one with dogwood branches formed in the metal. Sounds strange but it's true.)

I’ve learned so much from you guys. I’m planting a garden this spring, because you’ve inspired me. I love the magnolia trees! They’re gonna look beautiful framing the entrance!

Peaches' parking sign is cute! Near where I work in Chico, CA, there are Magnolia trees that bloom in June, and those big white blooms put out a very nice fragrance with the warmer temperatures. I love the thick shiny leaves, as well ❤

    Jason,
If you are going to have Magnolia trees, don't trim the lower branches off because Magnolias provide ground clutter (dead leaves, dead flowers, and other stuff) constantly. Let the branches grow all the way to the ground to hide the debris the tree is constantly producing.
I'm sure you'll be glad you did.

I miss dogwoods- I lived in Alabama in my youth and that and the Tulip trees we called them were always my favorites. Can’t wait to see them in bloom.

@@coleneritchie5625 they are beautiful. We have a version in Florida however they are not as large and abundant as Alabama where I remember so many. When I travel home it’s a treat.

Talking about the new magnolia trees….. I’ve been told to “tickle” the roots before planting. I see you doing exactly that. 😊 I love magnolias and They will be beautiful there at the gate!
