My immediate suggestion would be to beef up the yarn for the rainbow itself, so either go super sized with the yarn itself or hold several strands at once with a bigger crochet hook :-) Not sure you'll be able to get this applique itself 30" x 30" BUT it's worth a shot! @@HookedbyRobin Yeah after seeing your square I think I might try redoing mine. I'm pretty new to crocheting but for the square I used G/6-4.25mm hook and for the rainbow I used D/3-3.25mm hook. I had trouble finding a 4.0mm and 3.0mm hook at my local craft store.
