    Hi Jon, Thanks for showing this really good demo! I have been pulling out what hair I have left trying to tie loops after tying a spade hook. I want to try and use a Helicopter rig for Bream & Roach and the Rig is calling for 1 1/2" to 2" hook lengths to be effective ! The Chap said they were hard to tie, but worth the effort, and as you said, trying to use a loop tyer is a Nightmare for such a short length! Thanks again regards Paul.

    I've had one of those gizmo hook tyers for maybe 3 or 4 years now and couldn't use them (just like you at 4:00) in the way I saw them demonstrated, mainly because any rough skin or nail on your hand and the line gets caught. So thank you for showing me a different way. I just tied 8 loops of differing sizes very successfully! The figure 8 knot is more difficult to size up uniformally though no matter how you tie it. Brilliant though.

    I've watched many videos regarding Tying rigs, loops etc, all very useful. However I have never seen anyone tying rigs and loops using a "Fly Tying vice" or a third hand as I call it, to hold your hook whilst tying, have you ever tried using one, I would advise anyone tying their own rigs etc to get one, cheap as chips yet invaluable.

    very good video, such I was looking for on the internet .. very good video, such I was looking for on the internet ... I want to ask, what are good single, double or triple loops for? I used double loops on the rig because my single and triple loops cracked. I don't understand English very well, please write me in the message and I will translate it via google translator.

    • @JonArthur
      @JonArthur  3 роки тому

      Glad it was helpful! I've never found the need for a triple turn loop but one or two is sufficient. Do whatever gives you the most confidence. I am happy with a single, even for big carp, but use double if that is what helps you.
