This is such a weird thing, but I really love that you change positions and/or locations when talking about each book. It feels like a mini reset and keeps the video really fresh and engaging. Small touch, but I love it!
Some good reads: All my rage by Sabaa Taahir- soooo good. You definitely won’t regret reading this. What’s eating Gilbert Grape. I recommend watching the movie first because unless you watch the movie first, it’s hard to understand the mother character who in my opinion is the main character in this book.
Beach Read, Book Lovers, and Happy Place are my FAVORITE Emil Henry’s. While I didn’t much care for Funny Story or People We Meet on Vacation. It’s funny how everyone has different opinions on her books! Happy Place is my all time favorite, I resonated with it so much because my dad lived on a lake and was selling his house while i read that book about their last summer at their friends dads lake house! I could see my friend group in that book and i loved it. I highly recommend Happy Place! Especially if you liked Love and Other Words cuz Happy Place is also a second chance romance and fake dating (:
wow thats so interesting! was there a specific reason you didn't like funny story? And thank you for the heads up! I will definitely add Happy place to my tbr now!
@@khalilahd. i think compared to her other books i didn’t think the writing in Funny Story was as good, and i didn’t feel like the story was as deep and i didn’t really relate to any of the characters, but i think that’s what makes Em Hens books so good is they’re different enough where everyone can find a book of hers that they relate to and feel for 🩷
If you want to re-experience Project Hail Mary I would recommend the Audible Studios audiobook version - it’s so special because of the way they brought Rocky and Grace to life ✨🪐
All of the books you mentioned are all currently in my TBR list. But the five books that live absolutely rent free in my mind are Before I Let Go, Razorblade Tears, An American Marriage, Small Mercies, and Out of Darkness!
After being in a major reading slump, the ACOTAR series revived that for me this year! I became obsessed with it like I was with Twilight and Harry Potter! Now I’m in my full reading era, and chase that “fantasy high” every month😅
I kind of felt the same way as you about Emily Henry, her books just felt “ok” to me. But I read happy place last year and loved it!! I would definitely recommend, I feel like we have such similar tastes so I’ll have to read funny story too!!
Well You’ve convinced me. I’ll finish Harry Potter. read the first one, loved it but never found/ made the time to read the others . I’ll go do it now!!!
Ngl I probably would have never been interested in eleanor oliphant is completely fine. But because you keep mentioning it, I finally bought it. Now that you mentioned it again, I’m inclined to read it next 👀 despite a huge tbr 🤭
Hey Friend, Happy Thursday. I just love hearing you talk about books, it’s so enjoyable to hear about people and their passions. For me my passion is UA-cam and watching videos, it has always helped me through the difficult times. I feel the same way about UA-cam that you feel about books. 😊🥰🎃👻
please re read book lovers !!!!! it’s definitely something that in my opinion cannot be overly rushed. i’m sure if you read it in a regular setting and pacing, you’ll like it much more !
You convinced me to try the audiobook of Funny Story by Emily Henry. I immediately wanted to read the physical copy. I think it could be a Emily Hnery redemption book for me!
I think my top favourites are “His dark materials series by Phillip Pullman, “Fourth Wing”, “Yours Truly” by Abby Jimenez, “Honeybee” by Craig Silvey” honourable mention to “ The Summer I turned pretty” series and “A good girls guide to murder”
Yeah Harry Potter and Brandon Sanderson books did that to me as well, I thought I couldn’t get so immersed into books as an adult anymore but they proved me wrong.
Love and other words got knocked off!! Woah! Hehe. and yay Harry Potter and hunger games! I just gotta read the prequel still:) and Hail Mary and Elenor elephant I bought and on tbr!:)
I've had Eleanor Oliphant on Audible for a few years and never listened to it. But it's definitely been recommended as a great read by so many different people. I loved, loved, LOVED Funny Story!! I didn't think I would because I'm not a romance girlie, but the dialogue between Daphne and Noah and supporting characters was top-notch!! I laughed out loud so many times throughout the book! I was recommended to read Book Lovers (I think that's the title) next.
Funny Story was good, but I didn’t really like Happy Place that much tbh. I had also guessed Eleanor Oliphant was gonna be that book at the end 😅 haha I ended up reading that and it was really good 😊
If I could reread anything, it would be Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series (specifically Era 1). Like what you said with Harry Potter, I was completely taken into a different world and felt as if I was right there with the characters, learning and being present in their lives. It was honestly the best thing I’ve ever read, and I feel a great nostalgia for the books, even though I only read them last year! Perfect for anyone who enjoys reading fantasy with a female main character!
@@khalilahd.OMG that would be the best!! Mistborn is like I said, a series, but if you want to read a standalone, then I highly highly recommend Tress of the Emerald Sea. It’s got action/adventure, magic, and a little bit of romance!!
I’m finally reading the Harry Potter series now. I am on the 4th book. I never read them as a kid cuz I went to catholic school and administrators put the fear in us not to, LOL😅 I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched the movies, but I’m also having the time of my life and connecting with my inner child reading the books❤
