I'm trying to figure out what type of safety precautions I should take. Recently started having to sew this at my work and it makes me nauseous and gives me a headache. Please provide any information you can 🙏🏽
Hi Peter I bought some of this fabric and would recommend it to anyone, its truely amazing stuff. My application was what you could call non standard and despite my mediocre welding skills, it performs admirably. Having proven it works I would prefer a much neater, professionally welded, version and was wondering if that may be possible. Its quite a basic item, a rectangle of fabric measuring 1150mm long x 700mm wide, welded to form an endless belt (700mm wide). The only issue is the fabric weld overlap needs to be small, no more than 1/4", ideally less. I managed to do it with a basic hot air heat gun and, although it was far from pretty, the bond easily withstands a pull of 10kg. If its possible to buttweld the fabric and retain the strength that would be ideal (no lump in the belt) but a simple overlap weld works well enough. Any thoughts?
That is a very small overlap/weld size. We don't normally go less than 1/2" on our high frequency welders. It is possible to do a 1/4" weld on our welders but we would need to buy a special 1/4" size welding bar in order to do so. We can provide you with a quotation if you like?
@@attwoollsmanufacturing Hi and thank you for the swift reply. I`m not familiar with high frequency welding so it may be that a 1/2" HF professionally welded overlap has the same flexibility as a 1/4" unprofessional weld ;) I found using a small overlap for the welded section created enough flexibility for the welded section to make the turn around different sized tubes. Here are a few pics and a description which may help. ua-cam.com/video/x5R6Ny8Tfxw/v-deo.html best regards
you say it has an inside and outside, is the difference texture only? Or is the inside non lacquered and non protected? Also you have clear fabric too? If so can the clear be welded to the coloured fabric? Thank you
Both sides are lacquered but there is extra lacquer on the outside which gives the outside a smoother finish. That's right, clear PVC fabric can be welded to this fabric.
Which kind of tape durably stick on PVC coated fabric . I have a bag which is made up of pvc fabric which is ruptured , Is sewing the right solution or sticking a duct tape ... Please help .. if you can Thank you

Hey peter, can you direct me to the correct pvc fabric used to make rain coats?

You should use either use pvc glue,
heat weld method or sew it.

Hi!! How's good this fabric for foldable bags? Thanx fwd
Does it crack under the sun after a while?
This fabric has extra UV treatments on both sides and will last for years in UK environment
Is all PVC fabric or most PVC coated fabric UV resistant?
Generally most PVC coated fabrics are UV resistant. Depending on the chemicals added to the PVC coating.
