Your‘re absolutely right, it differs from camera to camera. I converted an Alpha and a Sonar, and in both cases - following your advice - removed the tongue. In the Sonar, film gets stuck badly, whilst in the Alpha I have not troubles at all.
In case it wasn't clear - jamming packs are not an issue on Model 1 & 2 cameras that lack the tripod socket. Once you remove the tongue, these models are completely smooth inside, and thus accept i-Type film without issues I highly recommend the PolaVolt conversion on Model 1/2 cameras for this very reason
So timely that this was just released. The other day I really struggled to remove and insert my reclaimed green film packs (600). I thought I was breaking something. Upon inspection, the little tabs at the back of the pack are slightly taller and longer than the tabs on my other 600 cartridges. Im using an sx70 alpha. I dont have an itype mod so I havent tried/noticed any issues with those packs, although i did remove the metal tongue on my camera.
I'm glad you noticed! The new workshop has MUCH better and more even lighting than the old one, and the room is overall better insulated from noise I think (other than being able to hear Luna in the background jingle her collar) I'm still getting through my backlog of orders (i'm months behind) but I'm going to try my hardest to make shorter little videos like this

I love the ample lighting! Easier to see with both sides illuminated
