The last part, from about 7:20 onwards, where the 'dead' song sputters back into life: there are no words to describe it, you have to hear it, the interplay between the two guitars, the harmonica, and Mick's vocal, propelled by Bill & Charlie: this is rock n roll at the height of its power, it swings, it crunches, it beats, the rocking harmonies of all the instruments together and more, something undefinable, something that tears at your heart and soul, grabs you by the throat and sticks a knife right through it oh baby and it HURTS!!!!! Deliciously!!!!!

GTFO here. I’d rather see James Brown and Bruce Springsteen n the E Street Band in the prime 8 days a week, 25 hours a day and 366 days a year over peak Stones.
I love the Stones, seen them 4x including 5th row during the “Steel Wheel’s” tour. This is no doubt a great performance, but compare this to The Boss n company doing “Rosalita” live in 1973. Hmmm, let’s not get carried away. That Boss performance is so much more lively, spiritual and damn them women.
As I’ve aged, I cherry pick Stone’s songs now and realize there is just significantly more music out there to enjoy, especially so many great American rock n roll, blues, funk, soul, and r&b bands that just make me feel so much better n not like some damn dated classic rock station. The Stones could never sing like many of their peer bands as well: The Beatles n The Beach Boys for sure - no way, no how - so far behind those two bands in harmony.

I've always said small spaces were better for the Stones. Why? Cause in this kind of places they can interact easier, Keith can guide Charlie with more precision, (in those times) Bill can be seen in an equal way to the other Stones, Mick can hear the music and drive his voice in the right place. I was never a fan of big places like stadiums or colliseums so...

This might be the best complete live version of this song that has ever captured the stones with such visual perfection.
There are comparable audio versions that might be preferred by myself or others, but as a total package, audio, visual, quality, era... this is likely the gold standard and at 51, I've seen and heard most all of them live in person or otherwise. This one from this show Marquee Club show stands out in my memory the most. Just fire 🔥 🔥🔥!!!

It didnt last long despite them churning it out with Ronnie wood... whicj is disappointing as Ronnie was freat with Rod and the Faces.... Imagine if Rod Stewart had been in Led Zeppelin and or The Stones! Its an amazing thought experiment but he almost was in Led Zep..... his cast offs joined the stones and havent been that good over 43 years or so..... Ronnie Wood is corned beef and has been for years..... ENJOY THE STONES AT THEIR PEAK FROM 66 to 72..... Marvellous and enjoy The Faces prior... also amazing.... if only......
