Talk Talk - Such A Shame Official Live Video At Montreux 1986 HD It's a shame ... Such a shame .. Number me with rage
It's a shame
Such a shame
Number me in haste
Such a shame
This eagerness to change...
Such a shame to believe in escape
'A life on every face'
And that's a change
Till I'm finally left with an eight
Tell me to relax, I just stare
Maybe I don't know if I should change
A feeling that we share
It's a shame
Such a shame
Number me with rage
It's a shame
Such a shame
Number me in haste
Such a shame
This eagerness to change
It's a shame
The dice decide my fate
And that's a shame
In these trembling hands my faith
Tells me to react, 'I don't care'
Maybe it's unkind that I should change
A feeling that we share
It's a shame
Such a shame
Number me with rage
It's a shame
Such a shame
Number me in haste
Such a shame
This eagerness to change
Such a shame
Tell me to relax, I just stare
Maybe I don't know if I should change
A feeling that we share
It's a shame
Such a shame
Number me with rage
It's a shame
Such a shame
Number me in haste
It's a shame
Such a shame
Write it across my name
It's a shame
Such a shame
Number me in haste
Such a shame
This eagerness to change ..:)

Andy Mitchell yes indeed
Andy Mitchell P

That's true. I was born in a wrong time!
Who else gets goosebumps when that synth comes in at the start?
Kurzweil
Every single god damned time!
Love the synce
Great song!
Amazing synths … in the live version 👍🏼
2023. Almost 40 years and still sounds fresh.
Because its a hidden diamond
2024 62 años still enjoy this music
Never lost this sound!!!
Hard to stop listening . Still Sounds fantastic in 2024.
I prefer this live version to the studio one. The performance is pure magic!!!

@@yvanjaville5356 .
It's amazing!
like a lazer through me body. And I thought I loved the studio stuff better. dead wrongWaou.. to say the least
Applause for the camera men that recorded this masterpiece for the posterity.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Absolutely. This is not only a stunning performance. It's a timeless piece of art, that will never be played this way again.
The best song for all of time ❤️❤️❤️
I agree 👍 💯 👏 mh you are a god,rip man
Wtedy nie zdawali sobie z tego sprawy
@@marcusbrodkorb9513 and this is the best version of it
One of the most unique voices in pop history. Astonishing.
Это не поп.
mark hollis genius 👍👍👍
TOP BAND
His voice is so unique ❤
Unique voice. Instantly recognisable.
One of the best live performances ever
My compliments for the sound engineer. What a great mix for a 1986 live recording
Couldnt agree more,great sound
So much energy from musicians also.
And, according with what we can see, not the better conditions for a good sound.
this version is the best, by far and by many reason that musicians will agree with me...everything! synchronized .. so well...
I could see them in a concert and this song was about 15 minutes and sounded really good... Magicals
MARK HOLLIS : GENIUS
A terrific song from one of the best groups of the 80's at the height of their powers in 1986. Mark Hollis was such a talented singer and frontman. It's truly a shame that he stopped making music with Talk Talk in 1991; however, I give him all credit for choosing his family and being a good dad, rather than chasing fleeting success. He left us in 2019, but we have his wonderful music. Love, Light and Peace, Mark.
One of the best groups ever regardless of the decade.
Just gutted, did not see them live, Mark you left us far too soon, life just is not fair.
❤
Trop bon chanteur et groupe.!!!!!j aime trops et écoute tout les jours
Right you are❗🤷
The way they started with the chorus without vocals exploding after the intro was pure genius. That’s how good Talk Talk is and this show fully shows that. Love love love…
Exactly! Absolutely brilliant
Who is listening to this in 2020 this guy! RIP
dwayne pothier of its time, and does beat many of current but maybe an age and time thing?
I've never stopped.
never stopped listening ,guy was a genius
Me and I can’t stop! Always loved TT but now it just takes me awayyyy in the best way 😊
@@pegster6 yeah me too😊 RIP Mark❤
This song was one of the best of those years and still is.
I've said this elsewhere, but EVERY band or artist should study this live performance from Montreux in its entirety and use it as a benchmark. Music performed like this with no bells or whistles reeks of integrity. It simply doesn't get much better than this. X
This live version just sends chills down my spine everytime . Especially the guitar solo
i can't stop playing this
6:00 piano, guitar, bass, drums and finally voice. Perfection
RIP Mark Hollis. What a fantastic artist. Thanks for the memories.
Mark Hollis is the singer?😔😔😔
YES HE IS ,!!
My one big regret in life not having a time machine , I would loved to have been there absolutely brilliant !!!!!!!👍👍
R.I.P. Mark Hollis , a genius
This is almost an out of body experience. Utterly phenomenal.
I miss you very much Mark Hollis. So nice, smart, genial, handsome guy
Mark Hollis, what a charismatic person...he killed it with that insane live performance.
Unforgettable....🖤🖤🖤 R.I.P.
I was an insane fan of him all those years. I miss him.
The best. Outstanding, yet if we really listen there is a looming note of pain, a beautiful performance but a sad tone to his rendition. In other words very heartfelt, to the bone.
That falsetto voice kills it.
O que é R.P.I?
@@robertocromeyer7458 Mark was a remarkable talent that converted many rockers to the New Wave of the 80's I am still both. The pain in the songs was his signiture. Man I miss this group. Peace Brother
Mark clearly put 150% effort into his live vocals every time and it really showed. His singing is never lazy or half hearted. He was a true perfectionist.
Rest in peace Mark and thank you for the wonderful music
but i am happy, to grown up in this time and had the chance to listen such beautiful music and not the bieber, grande or swifts today...
He had such a unique voice which i just love.
Yes! 💘
Indeed! Ear-candy 🍬
AN UNFORGETTABLE VOICE
Just LOOK how unpretentious these musicians were. They were making history... utterly cool and modern music without looking like modern hipster asses that act like they conquered the Universe. Miss those days.
I think a wife beater and a mullet was considered "hipster-ass" back in the 80s.
Whatever... Those dudes are all kinds of rad.
Ik ook .
They didnt know back then they were making history. Todays music isnt owned by the artist but by the producer as they dont make their own music. So their act is all a gimmick.
@@wingsken yeah sure, music industry back then was soooo artist and not industry oriented. Man, Léonard Cohen wrote tower of song for this reason. It was the same bullshit back then but you didnt notice it
Perfect combination.
music, intrumental and voice. Rip Mark Hollis.
Rip Mark hollis 💘 humans are dying, not songs
Frederick Röders
Chill out
Drama queen 😁
definitely one of the best songs of all time..
As a bass player, I really appreciate these hard to reproduce bass lines. What a great group this was.
Brilliant bass playing.
@@dongill9650 and drummer also amazing
the whole band are amazing whit mark hollis as frontman singer unique voice 👍👍👍,,mark
Right there with you. Nothing but groove.
That intro...WOW!! How I wished I could've been at this concert. One of my favourite 80's bands. RIP Mark, such a loss.
He nailed his vocals live. So ridiculously talented and underrated.
Fuck me SUCH A SHAME
I didn’t go see this band live
Headphones on full pelt this is musically brilliant
What a mix from 1986 too.
Blown away
Use headphones at max volume , hit play, close your eyes and enjoy!!!
you fucking right!
And get tinnitus like me. Watch out for those headphones. Just sayin.
yes he is....
I agree, its magic what a performance....thats absolute no shame!! greetz from Holland
And fly with it. Indeed. It made UK the very civilization of sound. Sure it did.Even more from France..
Can't stop thinking about this magnetic live concert of mark and the guys.
Never ending song, simple Talk Talk... thanx
80s was the best era in music. I know that some will not agree, but I personally love the 80s synch music, new wave and can listen to it for hours. We were young, teens and then young adults when we first heard all this music and we loved it then and love it now. Memories and great feelings come over me every time I hear it. This is another incredible song. Love it.
Fully agree. Great years, great music, great memories
Couldn't agree more best decade of music by far, much better than the rubbish that is churned out today!!
@@martincornford660 agreed 120%. Great statement.
Hello! Agree on everything 100%
Здорова! Согласен на все 100%
For me Talk Talk and Ultravox did it for me in 80's. As a 70's guy I managed to push into the 80's and this tune gives me goosebumps to this day... Whether this 'luve' one or the official video version. That synth sound always made me think of the song of whales...
RIP MARK HOLLIS
If Talk Talk were to be re-released today, they would go absolutely viral, & would finally get the true recognition that they most definitely deserve, as befits one of the finest groups of all time. with music that is absolutely timeless.
Andrew Richmond people are changed. Unfortunately there’s no place for normal but talented musicians. People just look at the envelope instead of the content. There’s no way for the Music in the way we know it and we mean it. It is just about money. It is a moment. Garbage. Disposable stuff. What we can do is keep it alive and never forget what it gave to us.
@@VioletVoorhees You're right. Unfortunately I can barely even find some decent electronic music now.
I make you right. I'm a heavy metal fan but you have to have a break from all that sturm and drang. and who better.
Rise Of The Machine Very unfortunately I have to agree with you.
Every song sounds the same, they all look the same, it’s all repetitive garbage without depth or meaning. Not to mention the use of auto tune.
The last great music made, aside from a handful of bands, was in the 90s. And even the bands I can think of that have released fantastic music, most _started in the 90s!_
@@anypoxynames aha I’m a 70s-80s hard rock guy but am in a real synth pop phase at the moment lol
probably the best of all songs in the 80's
The Best Instrumentalists
One of the 80s most underrated bands and at the same time a cult following kick ass band.
Every. Single. Note. live... Those were the days.
Rest In Peace, Mark Hollis.
Rip Mark Holis, thanx for amazing moments
Incredible - so glad I found this. As soon as I heard that synth I was back in the 80s. Timeless track
Mark Hollis gone yet Never forgotten, it is a challenge to not cry listening to this superb song... Thanks for posting
42 people were expecting a lip sync version. That's a shame because this one is awesome.
His music live forever.
Such a shame
My goodness they were brilliant
One of the best live videos on youtube
Look, what a good time it was: a concert without a barricade in front of the stage!!
I loved the 80´s - oh how i loved it
22 December 22, listening to this absolute masterpiece. RIP mark. 😢
God... I would love to hear this voice live before I go to sleep, lying on the grass and looking with Him at the sky full of stars..... ❤️😶 🌫️😢
The album version is so brilliant, but this is just on another level, I come back to this because I miss music. Rip mark
This has to be my favourite live performance.
Lucky and honoured to play with the support band on this tour. They had this majestic and captivating presence on stage that I have never seen from any other band before , none of us could take our eyes off them every night whilst they performed, brilliant.
Very well said. Out of all the 80's bands, there was something special about Talk Talk. They were different, they were super cool and their music had a unique atmosphere. Watching this clip gives me goosebumps each time.
You were there with them, cool! This must have been almost religious experience! They sound insane LIVE, and last 2 Taalk Talk albums can be put next to Brahms, Beethoven - Spirit Of Eden and Laughing Stock
Such a beautiful comment, thankyou.
@@margaretcronin4073 Did you ever meet them? I was gutted when Mark Hollis died he was so nice. We had such good banter with their band on that tour, but then our drummer used to beat Mark and Lee up for a laugh, but it was just fun. I used to draw cartoons of Mark singing and stick them to their changing room door.
What an incredible experience...they are one of my favorite bands. Talented.
Listening in 2023. One of my favorite groups while in college and still are. What a talented group of guys!
Such a tight group of musicians and a unique lead singer - sadly missed
What a great great group. One of the best from the 80 s 90 s hands down. !!
What a great Band! Mark Hollis is a fuckin` Genius!!!!!
I listen to this song every morning while driving to work. It enlightens my day.
Lovely
Legend. Never forgotten
Sto riscoprendo l' immensità di questa musica, noi in quegli anni avevamo tutto questo? Che ganzi che eravamo...
That acoustic guitar solo is awesome, great live performance all around. RIP Mark Hollis
What an incredible sound to be a live performance, and that acoustic guitar solo, wow, they really improved the album version.
I saw Talk Talk in 1986, when they opened for Psychedelic Furs. Talk Talk blew the Furs away. Talk Talk are in a league of their own; and head and shoulders above other 80s bands. R.I.P. Mark.
Dos gigantes bandas fuiste un afortunado por verlos juntos
Mark mark mark mark we miss You man!!!
What a sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) The best concert version ever
his songs make me cry even if iam happy
+kenlood Great comment.

Rest In Peace Mark Hollis. So sad to see such a talent leave us. Truly such a shame indeed.
Excellent live version. One of the best songs ever written.
That's the pure '80s
I keep thinking how amazing the sound quality is on my earphones, I can't begin to imagine being there in person. Man, this is going on my "concerts I wish I attended" list.
RIP mark hollis
Everybody is talking about how amazing this sounds and how long of a time this was ago. But nobody is talking about where this came from. Its from a broken heart.
R.I.P. Mark. Thank you for your music, your voice, the creativity you put into it and the good memories you left and you'll be leaving. You'll be missed...
So sad....one of my favorites....RIP.....live on in our hearts
Bowie and now Hollis. Omg
one of The Best in 80's!
Caterina Buluggiu Yes, I think THE best

Caterina Buluggiu 👏👏👏👍👍👍 best 80s 🎶🎶
One of the best of all time.
My sound forever. Thank you Mark Hollis . God bless you.
Fabulous track and what a vocal
This is what I call music.... It's such a shame they just don't make them like this any more.....British talent at its best!
Amazing musicians. What a band! If only pop remained like this!
Incredible song. Mark Hollis was a unique man and a unique talent.
Dopo 50 anni sono qui ad ascoltare questa meravigliosa canzone
So long, Mark Hollis! I hope you found peace. We have your songs, thank you!
One of the finest bands of the 20th century moving effortlessly into the 21st century. Giants.
+Michael Woodacre Yeah GIANTS
Rocking out to this in Covid-Mania 2020!!!
Estos si que eran grandes músicos. Es 1986... sin autotune...solo talento. RIP Mark
Claro peor las personas si querían escucharlo debían comprar sus discos el cobraba por su trabajo
One of the bands that has the best live sound. And it may be the best.
An outstanding band which is missed these days
As good as it gets. That bass playing is incredible
Spectacular performance! Mark's vocals are really so underrated.
My favourite live performance ever!!
To whoever uploaded this...take a bow! One of the best music videos on YT. Outstanding from all involved including the energy of the audience!
i couldnt agree more
I've watched this countless times over the years but this is my first viewing of it since the death was announced of Mark Hollis.
What a great song. What a great band. What a great vocalist. They don't make 'em like this any more. R.I.P. Mr Hollis, and thank you.
RIP, MERCI POUR VOTRE TALENT
