That's wild! I've never seen engines so blasted with graffiti like that. On the one hand I think it's super lame but on the other hand the whole visual scene of grimy industrial railroading mixed with sketchy socal street culture is uniquely fascinating. Awesome channel and new sub here.
Great coverage of the Torrance branch. I was an engineer on both the Torrance and El Segundo for years. One nice thing is the jobs no longer have the Gensets. 5 lumber loads for Crenshaw lumber. 4 tanks for Jones Chemical. Surprisingly the crew took the empty ethanol cars to Dolanco to runaround the cars. Our crew left them at the runaround at 76. The one car for US Gypsum we would shove it to old Torrance. Great video
@jamesg2609 The whole place is in a meltdown, nothing running as it should. Gardena was probably full or rock train tied down there. Both branches have been plugged for days at time, nowhere to maneuver.
@@jamesg2609 No on the dogs. I went on the Saugus for a year and no one did it while I was gone so I just let it go. All the guys like Wade and Feetham have gone so now there are no responsible adults in charge anymore.
Ahhh, home sweet home. I grew up in Torrance and only got to see this train a few times, I was closer to the BNSF line, which had more frequent trains too though.
Amazing video and it was sad to see the locomotive being all tag up. The 2 Union Pacific locomotives with the one car crossing under the old bridge on Torrance Blvd was the old train bridge for Pacific Electric Red Car trolley back when. The name of the bridge is Pacific Electric Railroad Bridge that was built in 1913 if I remember this right. The tracks are still on top of the bridge last that I know. I"m a big fan of the Pacific Electric trolleys that are no longer in service. I have found out that some of the Pacific Electric trolleys are found at Southern California Railway Museum in Perris Ca, if anyone is a fan of Pacific Electric go check them out. They even have other trains as well. From my understanding is that they give train rides from the trolleys and the old steam locomotives. Thank you for posting this video. 😊
No unfortunately that's the problem when it's parked and basically anybody can walk up to it cuz it's just a little spur line. It doesn't sit in the yard or nothing they just park the thing right along almost a side street
I agree with you 1000%! That gang graffiti is ugly! Nothing good about it at all! Each year it costs the railroads $$$ to clean up that mess! A buddy of mine( who works for the Belt RR of Chicago) says that the scanners can't read the id tags on the freight cars because of the graffiti! If they want to tag something so bad, why don't they GO HOME AND TAG THEIR OWN HOMES with that bull@#$%! Where was the railroad police?
@@NEhemiah131 they need to do that to their own s***it costs the railroads money they don't even know where the cars are going to going to be like Penn Central with a railroad car just goes back and forth down the line don't even know where it's going to
The taggers don’t even respect locomotives anymore! This is a direct consequence of being soft on crime in the major metro areas. I won’t even mention which party runs these cities!
Wow, I got to give kudos to Union Pacific's new paint scheme!!! Can't tell if theses are Union Pacific locomotives....😂😂😂. Rave of Wall Street and Railroad Industry.... Someone should petition these locomotives to be on static display at the Los Angeles County Art Museum... 😅😅😅😅😅😅... I'll pay top 💵 dollar to see them...

it’s pretty cool honestly, especially on certain engines. but trust bro nothing is being damaged and the railroads have the complete option to either repaint or patch.
I am loving this line. This line is giving me so many ideas for my coming soon model train layout. This whole industry branch line could be a layout by itself!
This train crew is pushing their luck, my employer requires the lights and bells to be activated for at least 30 seconds before occupying a public grade crossing. This rule is especially important to follow on industrial trackage were there may be restricted sightlines for motorists. At the very least the crew should stop before occupying the crossing and then proceed slowly.
Great video thank you for sharing! I think graffiti artist should have an unwritten law that says they should never tag up a locomotive out of respect. Just like covering someone's piece is severe disrespect.
Hey Taggers, If you’re going to tag up something do it right. You missed a spot. I want to see improvement on the next video. Thank You for keeping it real out here in This Third World Country.
Of course it is and stays vandalism but those looking wild! Actually not as bad as some others...for example those Autoracks who sprayed on its whole surface with one big picture, are more creative and orginell as common size graffitis.
LMAO I definitely came here for the comments. Basin power gets done up bad! That's for sure. Here's to all the butthurt fly-over boomers who probably think this represents the whole of an urban area of 20 million people they've likely never visited.
UP really needs to keep up and repaint those 2 locomotives. Besides that all of the tagging looks like shit and done 3 year olds, it just reflects on the trash that lives in the neighborhoods that it passes through.
The graffiti vandals apparently have enough uninterrupted time to completely paint the locomotives but if I'm on the property for thirty seconds to take a photo I'm chased off. The so called artists who do this don't get punished hard enough when they are caught, I bet if they painted a judge's car or house the same way they graffiti railroad or public property they would be old men by the time they got out of jail.
Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer to see locomotives and freight cars without all the graffiti. Maybe UP could clean them up every once in a while and hire some security to deter or arrest future taggers.
If US law is anything like here in Australia it's not worth arresting the taggers because they will just be given a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again.
The street running scenes are great along withthe switching ops in between the buildings. Too bad the UP power looks like crap with the ghetto yo yo homeboy garbage on it.

I'm not sure what's worse the engine covered with graffiti or the trash everywhere .
That is an insane amount of graffiti on those locomotives

They were never graffitied like that when they wore SP colors.
They tried but the rattlecan paint would not stick to all the grime LOL!

Can you film the small local that runs through Paramount ( the small oil refinery ) and Lakewood ( Ganahl Lumber )?
I already have. LOG41R Paramount Switcher
A little factoid: you can always tell you are in a liberal democracy when graffiti are on the walls, bridges and trains.
What yard is the local working from?
4th Street Yard by the LA River in Downtown
