Osmo Action or Go Pro- whats your go to?
I had a GoPro Hero Session 5, I know it’s ancient lol. Looking to replace it and since I’m horseback riding in rugged country, I need a weatherproof camera that’s TOUGH as nails! This one is reaching the top of the research list! I’ve looked at Akaso too but not sure yet what will be the best fit. Would be interested in finding a suitable weatherproof external microphone that’s small enough to be mounted with the camera on my helmet harness. Love your review of this camera, you’re a big help in wading through all of the options out there! Would love to see more on different makes before I commit!
We have managed to kill 4 Gopros in the past and have just switched to Osmo action😊 we have no regrets, we're absolute DJI fans now 👌
Happy to support Made in USA and bought a new GoPro! China can go pound sand!
@@PasoGirl7 whatever floats your boat. Why would you watch this, if you are a staunch gopro supporter?
@@ForTheRoadTravels Such an awesome and reliable product!
I use this cam for my food channel and it's never failed on me. I love it!
It’s great for food vlogs! Will check out your channel!
@@StephenBell_video for sure! The channel is called VidaEats
I use this camera for all of my videos! I love it!
Short films? ✅
Vlogging? ✅
Action sequences? ✅
Thanks for the reviews. Just picked one up, can’t wait to get some test footage.
Awesome! Happy shooting 🤘
Excited to see what the Osmo Action 2 will offer! 🤞🏽
We will hold out breath and see!
Looking forward to creating more cinematic footage with my new action and using some of your tips
Have a blast! Hope they help 🤟
I don't have this dji osmo action but I'm watching this to get more ideas for my channel. Thanks for all the help you give. Stay safe bro.
Thanks friend! All the best for creating your channel
Thank you for doing this video. I have two of these camera's and there doesn't seem to be a lot of content out there that goes into the settings. I'm guessing at the core there is not a lot of differences in the way these action cameras work but It is nice to see something that covers the equipment that i have. Any tips are certainly appreciated.
Our pleasure! Hope the settings and rig setup help
Excellent video, pretty much the same set up as I have been using for a few months - great value and super portable
Thanks Mark! It really is a versatile little beast, and gives great value for its size
osmo action all the way!
Right?! Ftw!
Is there any way to transfer 4k 60fps to your iPhone/iPad from the DJI Mimo App? It seems like it doesn't allow that option right now.
Hey Stephen😊 great video, totally agree with you on the Extra batteries and ND filters - game changers! We have a question you may have the answer to🙏🏽 we have been changing our ND filters on our Osmo and just noticed that we lost the little rubber ring that fits between the lens and the filter. The problem we have is, we can't seem to find just this little rubber ring and haven't HD any luck getting useful info from DJI - do you perhaps know where we could get a replacement?
Thx so much for watching and sorry to hear about ring. You could try Amazon or eBay and see if the loose part is there. Also try Facebook Osmo action groups - good luck!
So creative!
It’s not the camera, it’s the shooter! :)
Great video, so much info
Thanks for watching! These are versatile little cams!
This was cool. I’ve shot films with action cameras before. It’s a lot of fun.
Thx! It was a blast to see what this little cam could do!
@@StephenBell_video I have the Pocket and plan on getting this one too.
Let me know what you think of it!
Nice video.. Keep doing what you are doing and you will get loads of SUBS.. Canada West Coast here. :)
Thanks man! Lots of episodes coming up- Props to the west coast, I am from Vancouver

Osmo action ...best value for money
Exactly! 👏👏👏
Great video.
Much appreciated!
Thank you Mr Janaka for a well done video. Just purchased a DJI Action camera. Have a Mavic Pro, Mobile 3, Osmo Pocket and I’m looking forward to applying your suggestions to get some cinematic videos. Also subscribed w/bell.
Much appreciated for watching Phillip! Looking forward to sharing more content with the Osmo Action coming up!
Very nice...
Cheers! 🙏
This is the first time I see your channel and I like it
thank you so much you are amazing,
can you trach us the best setting to export video from premiere to get best quality
Thanks Abdullah! Much apprecaited, I will definitely create a video on how to get the best export settings from PP
Great video. Must try the Osmo for a new little short.
Thx! It’s a pretty versatile little cam- happy shooting!
I've shot two short films using the dji action, it's actually my favorite camera to use
Its a versatile little cam! Looking forward to the Osmo Action 2... whenever that comes out?
@@StephenBell_video man I just hope they make it strictly cinematic, you already have the ultimate action camera now focus on a cinematic action camera.
@@jerveylstaley very interesting idea! An action cam built for cinematic style shoots. I’d invest 💴
@@StephenBell_video that's all that I'm waiting on
Hello..
Im from facebook osmo group,,
Great gear btw
Hi ArdiNugroho! Thanks so much!
Hi, have you ever tried dji osmo pocket? I'm looking for the only camera for my channel and I will be shooting videos indoor situations (study with me videos) and occasionally city walk videos. Would you recommend dji osmo action or pocket?
Both are great cams, I might suggest the action as you can see yourself as you vlog more clearly on the front screen, plus it’s more durable. However the pocket has a great gimbal. Both would work well, but id lean action 👍
Great information thank you, I will be driven for scenic view like Hwy 12 and a few other in Salt lake city. What is your recommendation 1080 60 fps or 4k 60 fps.? Yes using a DJI Osmo thanks
Thanks! It always depends on your computers editing ability and Card storage size. You will get more recording out of 1080, but 4k will look better! Have a great trip!
@@StephenBell_video Hello came came my 4k 60 came out kind of dark. I guess no good of job on my part. thanks
bro ill use this camera cant find internal mic volume control can u tell me how to control internal mic or external mic volume there is only one option for beep sound
Internal Mic control is in the settings area of the camera- otherwise for external mics, I would recommend looking at the links in the video description and pick up an external mic and adapter :)
3:21 See those grooves at your index finger? The cap that you use for tightening the microphone on the coldshoe. Use one of those to catch the red microphone wire and the mic won't wooble anymore.
PS: using ND filters will distroy your camera stabilisation so either you move slow, either you get a gimbal for the camera. Using rocksteady or hypersmooth stabilisation together with ND filters will result in bad, bad footage for filmimng walking videos without a gimbal.
Thx for the headsup and tips 🙏
Oh no...seriously about the filters? I was hoping to reduce glare while trail riding.
@@PasoGirl7 You can try if you can barrow some ND filter. Best, try walking while filming with a sunglasses lens over the camera lens. Find a way to secure the glasses over the camera lens so they bouth move toghether.
I got a ND4 panel for photo use and the video is blurry as F.

Greetings back from Canada!
Thanks 👍
i think the PGYTech cage is better since it has two coldshoe munts
Totally agree! Just saw it now
Well .. ND Filters unfortunatly disable the rocksteady .. Bummer ..
Indeed this is a sad but true fact…
Will DJI release a new Osmo action?
Time will tell!
I have the same rig.
Have you not the fur of the Rode "dead cat" into the frame?
Sometimes it flops down, but you can attach the cable to the mount teeth
@@StephenBell_video Thanx but we have not the same language.
I talked about to have in the frame the hairs of the wind protector.
Maybe I don't get your replay.
Now I get it. Resolved.
It was the word "cable" that put me off.
Even thanx.
p.x.: any news about how to kill flickering in slomo with artificial lights?
If you move the dead rat is still in to the frame. Period.
Maybe my rat is fatter than yours. Hehe!!
How do you change any of these settings you talk about? (4K 24 FPS).
I just use a pair of pliers to twist the knobby thing on the right side. Some people use a hammer and hit the side of the camera three times for each setting change.. of course you could just follow the instructions that come with the camera and are available on the company website but that's no fun.
this right here! lol
Head to the video settings and select the different frame rate and then make sure your camera settings are set to Manual
Since the unstable GoPro 9 came out, I am happy to stick with my fleet of Osmo"s...........I shoot professionally, and dont have time to be restarting frozen GoPro's
Awesome, by fleet - how many osmos do you rock?
@@StephenBell_video I have 15 of them.......I do TV production as well as Engineering.
Is there a flat profile on these action cams?
D-Cinelike is the flattest color profile
@@StephenBell_video yea i found the answer in another video, guy was running through the settings, tnx
How to not have flickering when in slo mo wityh artificial lights??
Thanx
Always make sure your frame rate is set correctly, and check the lights you might have as some incandesent lights effect frame rates
Frame rate is the one for slo'mo. And at no setting they stop to blink.
However, services like Epidemic Sound are NOT "open source"... the music is licensed for use from artists they pay...
True - it’s not open source but with a subscription gives the ability to utilize a massive library of content
After record 12min over heating problem in this and shows msg over heating and shutdown automatic... Pls help wht to do
Are you shooting continuous in 4k with this? I haven't heard of this over heating problem. What environment are you shooting in?
@@StephenBell_video in closed room and warm environment.. Even i sweating...
I saw the Osmo Action on sale at Aden Camera for $420. Or $450 with a battery kit at Vision Electronics. I may be able to afford this bugger.
Its definitely worth the investment!
@@StephenBell_video
Oh I've been wanting it for a while. Especially for having 120/240 fps, there are things I've been wanting to film at slow-mo. Plus I miss having an action cam, my first and only one is the first GoPro.
Firmware update available now😉...
Indeed! 👏👏👏
but the time you buy all these accesories, adapters, filters, mics, stands, etc etc, you are hitting 1000 bucks....
Every camera is an investment
Total waste of 12 mins😂😂😂
Sorry to waste your time
@@StephenBell_video try adding some sample clips as examples.😅
i really regret buying this. so many problems occurred on this cam. not even the seller could help me
Sorry to hear this Ano- what was the issue?
