I used an electric 4 wheeler to rebuild my mobility scooter after someone ran it over out side the corner store and drove off! Now its reliable and I can rip it in the snow as where in it original shape it was stuck in 2 inches of snow! I just bought a wrecked Zero motorcycle going to build my own custom mobility scooter from the ground up!
I also have a mobility scooter and had the same problem in the winter. To solve the problem of getting stuck I used self tapping screws in the rear wheels. Just a single row all the way around about an inch apart. Very seldom do I get stuck anymore.
That is absolutely wild! I can't believe how you got all that Polaris suspension tucked inside that Murray chassis and body. It really does look amazing now, I hope you can get the steering and brakes worked out, it does look scary af to drive without those working great. I wish YT would promote your channel and get you more subscribers. You make good videos, it's clear you're putting a lot of work into filming and editing. Your projects are super fun and you have plenty of good older videos on your channel as well. I watch a lot of Low-Buck Garage's videos and when I first started watching his channel he had really low views on his vids, but recently his channel has been growing fast. I have no idea how the YT algorithm works but hopefully with the quality videos you're making something will change soon and your videos will start getting the exposure they deserve.
Got a wild idea with an old garden tractor and a free four wheeler this morning that lead me here. Thanks for giving good explanations and talking thru it. Gonna try this myself.
This is amazing! It's also funny that after all that work and atv parts, it's still a real tractor, steering is terrifying at speed, rattles and weird noises coming from under and brakes that don't work 😂😂😂
Jus found your channel as UA-cam just posted it on my feed scrolling down so I think UA-cam might be catching on to your channel but either way I literally sat and watched 5 videos of yours after UA-cam showed me one and jus gotta say your awesome man!! The craftsmanship you put into each of these and obviously turning a dolly into a go cart was smart as hell and you did a dope job!! Can’t wait to watch new videos and will keep watching old ones to catch up!!
This is insane, you definitely deserve way more views my friend for the quality of you videos, one question though, can you show us how you got the kill switch and choke set up?
That's an interesting project. Impressive engineering skills Very good job Sir. I an have a 2004 Murray 12.5 horsepower Briggs and Stratton 40 inch cut . In 2019 the engine started blowing oil out really fast. I came up with a Kohler 25 horsepower V twin. The Murray has a dual drilled engine mounting plate, that made changing engines a lot easier. I have to say double the horsepower made a big difference. The only problem is, if something stops a blade, things get tore up pretty quickly. The blade on the left side stopped, the engine didn't bog at all. It ripped the drive pulley for the blade spindle in half (top and bottom) and broke the blade adapter, and stripped out the spindle shaft. Fortunately I had the parts on hand to repair. I still like my mower 😊
VERY COOL AND NICE. REALLY LIKE ALL THE THINKING THAT WENT INTO THE MOWER.ON THE STEERING IS TRY ADDING A LONGER PIECE ON THE BOTTOM OFF THE STEERING SHAFT. IT SHOULD MAKE IT STEER BETTER . GREAT WORK!!!!😮😮😮
Nice work! I'm working on a Murray Classic right now, just getting it running right and swapping out the rear pulley from 9" to 3". Should give it a top speed of around 12 mph give or take. I'll see how that feels and then consider flipping the front pulley for a few more mph. Thank you for taking the time to share your work/play. 👍🍻
Love the mower build, but the front brakes would work great if you would pulling the cables and not tring to compress the sheathing. If you would weld a tab on the bottom of the brake pedal and move the cables down that would fix your problem with the front brakes.
Mower was $25, engine was free, four wheeler was $100, torque converter was $65, tires were $175, jackshaft was $67, seat was $50, stage 1 kit, spray paint, grip tape etc probably $65 more. So about $550 total.
I have to ask this question, even after a year. Could you not widen the body of the mower? Than you could put a raised middle piece in the middle for the chain, and you could put the pedal over a little. tan you could custom body. I was thinking a tiny car like body
As a Monday morning QB here… could you just have put a slight “body lift” / spacers on the rear pan to clear the chain to save the work you had to do? I like the build a lot I’ve been trying to figure out a suspension I like your idea. On mine I think I’d put a dead pedal on the left side and put both accel, and brake pedal on the right to heel toe it. I wonder if a guy were to get a larger garden tractor if you could put the 670 on it? 😁. I’d also try to figure out electric start (im old) Thanks for bringing us along on this adventure. I obviously need a welder and some skill before attempting. 😂
Because the transmission was such a question mark, I'm glad I went horizontal. I'm making a follow up video on the mower to try and fix things I don't love, and I also have a second project I'm looking at doing with a vertical shaft
9:27 What is that plate & all that clutch / pulley apparatus called? I'm not familiar with such I've only seen the centrifugal clutches like on old mini bikes, the old seems easier to set up, WHY go to this type?
Question, a riding lawn mower has a pully from the engine to the rear end, could you put in a chain drive system on the bottom like a bicycle drive chain?
I have seen similar setups but I think the issue is the tension. As a chain stretches and sags gravity would try and pull it down and off the pulley. A typical chain setup is vertical so it can't fall off. If you could solve the tension issue it seems like it could work
If i had a project like this id still keep the motor and rebuild it to sell it to someone that needed an engine or save the engine to make a kids size realistic car other than the motor
Harbor Freight sells the proper engine for inexpensive price. Just messing around with locating a torque converter can be an expensive item to purchase.
If you're gonna make a racing more you You don't need no shocks or racing more I have a Murray racing more there's no shock on it it's pretty fast you don't need socks on a racing more

thats awesome man
Did you get the steering problem fixed
That sucks that it got ran over but it's awesome that you could rebuild it better than before. Hopefully nothing happens to this one.
Probably would've been easier to cram the predator into the quad but a full suspension mower is way cooler

I got a kick out of the sticker! I thought that was an awesome touch
Absolutely stunning . Great attention to detail! I love it!
What a great job. Fabrication skills are excellent. Very nice job!! Cool machine

Sorry, I keep meaning to get you a video showing this. I will get it by next weekend

Really glad this video got you some attention. Still only a fraction of what it deserves. Awesome build.

The exhaust was fine. A little heat wrap would have been more than enough. But I love this oem looking mower rider!
Awesome job, the world would be a better place with more people like you

It looks great. awesome job using old parts.
Love it! I like the way you were thinking out of the box. It totally wasn't what I was expecting
This is dope your channel was on my recommendation
I am new to your channel. Seen this vid earlier today. An older one I understand. So, Nice work and hello from California.
Guy turns mower into fourwheeler using a fourwheeler as parts! Genius! Lol it looks good!
Great looking job!👍🏼
What an awesome transformation!
Looks great! I like the big boy power wheels look
Can't hardly beat those predator engines, they have made many projects possible for me!
Interesting build, and very entertaining. Hope your channel gets more exposure.
Subbed.
How are you not over 1k subscribers? Awesome build! New subscriber here!
Now i kind of want to see an electric motor build of one of these 👍🏽
Love the mower build, but the front brakes would work great if you would pulling the cables and not tring to compress the sheathing. If you would weld a tab on the bottom of the brake pedal and move the cables down that would fix your problem with the front brakes.
Now time to build the 212 up for some more hp
Wow, very underrated. Take that to a car show dude XD
Absolutely!!
Killer job!!! Now im going to bu8ld one!!!!
I used a Murray just like that in the late 90s to clear 6 ft high weeds on about 2 acres, thing was a beast. Definitely not the intended use, LOL.
Can you do a price break down? Or just a estimate on what you spent for the whole thing?
Mower was $25, engine was free, four wheeler was $100, torque converter was $65, tires were $175, jackshaft was $67, seat was $50, stage 1 kit, spray paint, grip tape etc probably $65 more. So about $550 total.

Get Redbeard to make you a badass motor.
Best job it looks good and symmetrical.
What about souping up the power to pull tree roots with blocks and tackles... Or... Is that impossible...?
that is awesome !
ever thought about making an Electric Version ? wonder how that would turn out and how far it would go.
Possibly, but batteries don't like me very much...
Very cool! Great build!

I thought about that, but with the amount I would have had to space it up I think it would have looked odd
Thankyou for this video! I want to do the exact same thing with my lt1000 and was stuck on some things
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching
You need a lot of mod parts for that predator. Imagine that cam chop!
Whoa did I just see lightning McQueen now that’s cool
Love the build.
Looks Sharp!
AMAZING.........Neiborhood!
Nice work bro
Decals actually make the difference between a repainted mower and a new one lol
Agreed
This is a super cool build. How long was the total build time?
Sigh. Way longer than I planned. Start to stall to finish was probably 7 months
@@gamblerspec Wow, that is a project! I just bought a new mower and so of course youtube is recommending me all these videos, yours was the most fun.
If you did the project again would you change the engine to a vertical shaft or stick with the horizontal?
Because the transmission was such a question mark, I'm glad I went horizontal. I'm making a follow up video on the mower to try and fix things I don't love, and I also have a second project I'm looking at doing with a vertical shaft
Very nice job.
9:27 What is that plate & all that clutch / pulley apparatus called? I'm not familiar with such I've only seen the centrifugal clutches like on old mini bikes, the old seems easier to set up, WHY go to this type?
Torque converter
All fine and good. Just wished I could see one that doesn't go fast but mows the yard.
That does sound exciting
Great build.
If its not terrifying it's not fun. Looks great good job. ✌️
Im waiting for someone to build one with a V- twin 21- 28 hp and maybe 6 gearr trans.
Saw a few, yesterday, believe it or not, they put a super charger on one , accident waiting to happen?
Gambler Spec looks very similar to Paton Spec!!!!
Keep at it brother 🍻🍻🤘

so unless you can come up with a gear to gear system, drive belts are the best way to go@@gamblerspec
That's what I would think
This is basically a mini quad
Put dampeners on the spot where the hood closes. That might be the weird noise your describing from under the hood.
this is so awesome keep it up
Very cool! How fast does it go?
Honestly it was too scary at 25 mph to try and go faster. I am working on a plan to fix the steering so I can go faster
Cool would have been nice if you put predator 212 hemi and mod it down the road but very nice build
Hot engine under a gas tank.... "laughs in motorcycle"
I have the same Engine that you do need intake tube
Put the original gas tank back & put sheet metal shield between the 2!
So its just a long chain connecting the converter to the rear sprocket?
There is a chain from the torque converter to the jackshaft then a separate chain from the jackshaft to the rear sprocket
You need to bring this to mini mayhem
Definitely! I just need to figure out how to make it steer without trying to kill me 🙂 hopefully this winter
If i had a project like this id still keep the motor and rebuild it to sell it to someone that needed an engine or save the engine to make a kids size realistic car other than the motor
What the piece called that connected the 2 chains
Jackshaft
Harbor Freight sells the proper engine for inexpensive price. Just messing around with locating a torque converter can be an expensive item to purchase.
My engine was free and the torque converter was $60
what type of atv was it? please let me know
Polaris predator 90
Nice hat
Jackstand Jimmy
You did a real nice job but that steering system is going to get you hurt.
Agreed. It's been parked now waiting for a better steering setup
@@gamblerspec I was thinking universal off the steering box, shaft angled up then universal again to steering wheel.
You think a 305cc is overkill for a simplicity mower
No, as long as it fits I think it wouldn't be overkill at all
@@gamblerspec ok
Around here they be wanting $300 for that😂
Dude I just blew my mud mower engine up this kinda sounds like a good idea
Start it on full throttle and work the choke properly...problem solved
this is sweet
Take that off and put a preditor ghost engine. Youl have more power and 6000 rpm
Maybe I will look at that once I fix the steering. Otherwise, any faster and I'll be the 👻
How much would you charge if I asked you to make me one exactly like that? Seriously
That thang went from bull shit to THE shit
And for the front breaks try looking at the pads the left may be worn down a lot more than the right
Thats no longer a lewn mower its a go kart in drag. You know all dressed up as something it's not. Racing tractor and cool toy.
Allright.
Put a yz 450 in it
Why aren’t you put the predator engine on four wheeler
The four wheeler was too serious. I wanted it to be a dad joke on wheels when I passed them
Im sexy and i mow it 🤣🤣🤣👍 that is awesome, ive always wanted to build a racing mower but cant afford that really i need to keep mine to use 😢.
46:13 Is that a funeral home ??
That would be my neighbor's house 💀
The original engine has way more horsepower and torque than that 212
Not if it never runs...
If you're gonna make a racing more you You don't need no shocks or racing more I have a Murray racing more there's no shock on it it's pretty fast you don't need socks on a racing more
There are some big changes coming to the mower real soon 😉
