- A few different storms on Lake Superior between Sault Ste. Marie and Wawa. The storms on Lake Superior are most frequent during the fall and winter months when cold air masses clash with the warm waters of the lake, resulting in powerful storm systems. These storms can generate winds of up to 70 miles per hour and produce waves that can travel hundreds of miles across the lake. One of the most famous storms on Lake Superior was the Great Storm of 1913, which occurred in November of that year. The storm caused 19 ships to sink and claimed the lives of over 250 sailors.
Wild and beautiful
Great lakes are so beautiful
The Grand Lady! She sure has her ways!
Great video - that looked like a cold ass day. Nuts one day and then the next one it'll be completely calm. The coldest, clearest water I've ever seen.
Gichi-Gami is terrifying. Waves that keep their dead.
Awesome.
Just. AWSOME.
So awesome in person. But it’s cold and wet
Beautiful lake. Don’t ever see myself ever going out on the lake unless I’m on a 1000 foot ship
@@Dc7383-f9u I’m nervous everytime. We’ve been out in 30c weather, totally calm and all of a sudden everything at our campsite is 40 feet away. I always think what if that happens when we’re on the water in the kayaks. We never go far from shore.
Where along Hwy 17 do you find you see the biggest waves?
It depends it’s always different. I drive up then come back down to whatever looked best. It depends what direction they’re going
JUs

And extremely dangerous
Only if you fall in lol
