I hope you had a lovely holiday season! I'm refreshed and ready to take on this new year ✨ And with the new year comes a new reading challenge! I'm so excited to start over fresh with my 50 books this year, and I've already selected a handful for the month of January 📚
I've outlined 10 tips in this video to help you read more in an efficient and fun way! Below, I've listed the tips and links to various apps I mentioned.

Am I the only one who has trouble with listening to audio books because it is hard for me to listen to books without doing nothing? Like, when reading I trigger my eyes too so my brain is fully occupied I guess? weird I know.. lol
Hi, thats totally normal because our minds wonder! What a lot of people do is play phone games while listening to it, personally I like to listen to them while I'm drawing! Find some activity that is repetitive but fun and do it while you listen to it
I remember reading a audiobook in 1 sit while I was playing spider on my computer hahaha just have fun
I agree. Audio books are not even retained in my mind.
I like to listen to audiobooks when I drive, that can take up the wandering that your eyes are doing!
Yes I only active read it if I were to hear something it's usually podcasts

I enjoy reading along with audiobooks this lets me enjoy the reader as well as the book!

I think this is the best how to read more books video that I've seen 🙂 I loved that you pick 4 books of different genres and start them all together! I've never seen anyone do this intentionally before, but it makes perfect sense. Also that you learn a new skill each year & focus on self improvement.

Last year I read 55 books, which is the most I have ever read in a year, and audiobooks are definitely to thank for that! My goal this year is 52 because I want to make time to watch more films :)

@@Fiona_Co What pandemic? Again, it's just as safe now as it was in 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017 etc. There's no need to live in fear over media propaganda.
@@folksurvival Idk man my friends mom died from covid (and I know it was so, not some BS case). If you are an at risk group then it's something to be aware of. If you are a healthy young person then the safety level is relatively the same
This is going to sound crazy but I managed to read 100 books last year and the only way I managed this is audiobooks, they're life savers! I use Libby, it's the best! Also Goodreads is such a good way to keep you on track.

@@MorganLong I read that last year too and loved it, such a cute book! I think last years fave had to be Normal People by Sally Rooney, shes an amazing Irish author who's huge in the UK not sure if shes big in the US yet? I did re read all the Harry Potters which is always a highlight! ⚡

I’ve heard that “The Green Witch” by Arin Murphy Hiscock is a really great one! I have a handful of fun vintagey book I found at used bookstores and charity shops. Hey Morgan! I would love to see a video on your favourite fantasy books! I can't stand non fiction or self help books but I love the idea of reading a few different books at a time. I do this as well. Even though they are all fantasy usually, I will read 2-3 different subgenres of fantasy at a time or 2-3 fantasy books that have a very different feel to them, or kind of theme to them. This helps me to read more of my favourite genre yet still prevent boredom. Great video!!

Great advice and I’m exactly 2 years in now reading 50 books per year. This year (nov 21-22) I’m reading 100 books and already 4 deep! I also loved the mountains. Reminds me of here in Colorado.

Yea, Kimberly, it doesn't matter what you read. To be honest it doesn't even matter how you read (ie audiobooks). Read what ever sparks joy!
Edit: and don't let anybody shame you for what you read!
Any literature that has seen multiple revisions is worth reading. I'm sure manga and light novels have been through that.

As always your video is awesome! My goal this year is 30 books. Last year it was 26 but I only read 20, which I think it's pretty okay. I will definitely put your tips to use! One that helps me a lot is to bring my book in my bag, so when i have long lines at the bank or on my lunch break I can get a good chunk of the book done.
ps. I didn't knew you are learning Spanish! That's awesome! That's my first language! If you ever have a question maybe I can help!

in the UK, the free audiobooks app is called Borrow Box. Its so cool. But the only downside is that you have to wait for the popular audio books which can take months.

@@MorganLong Maybe you could do a post or something where we can choose between 2 books. And then make a video at the beginning of the month about the book that won. At the end of the month you could do a review video and in the comments we share our ideas. It doesn't have to be every months, it can also be every 2 or 3 months. This way we can read more books together in the 2020!! ✨💙

I read my first book in years this year! I read a lot of manga/comics but not many books, so it felt I was missing out on a lot. Started with carry on and beauty & the beast and now I’m digging into finishing the Harry Potter series for the first time! After that I’m thinking: song of Achilles, heart stopper, the odyssey, Matilda, captive prince series and idk whatever looks fun! It’s so nice to get into a story - it feels so exciting and I missed it : ) my aim is 12 books for this year (on the 6th)

I want to revisit old favorites but I'm afraid that I might grow bored and skip ahead, or even worse, see my old favorites in a different light and realize they weren't as amazing as I thought they were. I'm currently on my 116th book of the year! My goal for this year is 120 books, so that's gonna be easy lol
12 books a year sounds like a good goal for me. I am quite a slow reader so it seems like an attainable one.
I feel like when I listen to an audiobook, my mind wanders or I’m too focused on what I’m doing to pay attention to the story. Any tips?
I know this is seven months later but I find it helpful to walk while listening to my audio books 😊

If you haven't read it already then I highly recommend The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah! I read it back in the beginning to 2018 and it was my favorite book of that year and will continue to be my favorite. I've recommended it to so many people since then and the few who have read it feel the same.

I put a challenge on good reads to read more books but unfortunately i couldn't achieve it because my hard work outside, i came home very tired and starting the house chores from cleaning and cooking. 😢 i am so disappointed with my self.

Yo pasé de 13 libros en 2018 a 55 en 2019 y estoy muy contenta. Además de aprender, como dices, noto que mi memoria y atención han mejorado. ¿Conoces a Marcel Pagnol? Si no has leído nada de él, te lo recomiendo. Especialmente 'El agua de las colinas' (The water of the hills). Son dos libros: 'Jean de Florette' y 'Manon of the springs'.
