  • Lets take my poorly laid out shed and make it way more functional and fun to use! I'll show you how to build wall mounted storage shelves, a work bench, a pegboard tool wall and more. This is a decent size project, but easy enough for a beginner. For tips on electrical work I highly recommend ‪@HomeRenoVisionDIY‬. Check out his awesome video about wiring here: • DIY Bathroom Wiring | ...

    Another great video and tons of ideas about how I want to organize my garage. How long did it take you/how difficult was it to figure out your layout? As you've been using it, any second thoughts on how you set it up? Maybe time will tell. Thanks for the content!

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  4 роки тому +3

      Thanks Chris! The shelf height and depth was pretty easy... just based it on where studs were, what I wanted to put up there. I spent an afternoon laying out the hooks and such to fit all the tools and get everything off the ground. I’ll be curious if I change anything once spring comes and I’m out there a lot.

    Those HeadloK screws are beasts!! I've used them on projects holding much more of a load than you have them used for here so you are more than fine. Now I'm not sure if one of those is stronger than 2 #10 deck screws for comparison. Some might be tempted to go that route at each stud. The other lag alternative I use a lot are the GRKs. Love using them too. I'm holding 1000s of pounds over head with these 2 types plus I can still hang from it. Nice shed. Mine is coming soon. Thanks for the ideas.

    thanks Jason for this great video. I love your upbeat and quirky personality and you roll with the punches from the naysayers. Questions: What is the height of your work table and shelves. Also, I notice you didn't insulate or cover your walls w/drywall or OSB. Any reason why?

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure how tall the bench was off-hand. I just made it waste height. I didn't decide to insulate because it's just a garden shed for me, so I don't feel it's necessary. But I definitely could. I may add more peg board in the future.
