I was making my coffee and feeding cats and I always greet my chickens and check on my goats and such from the porch...so. I'm looking around and see my little maple tree showing me the white underside of it's leaves. It let me know I best keep a weather eye out. It's an old indian trick. Another one is if the grass is dry with no dew in the morning then it's gonna rain by noon. I haven't checked that one.
My son, Nick likes to put a rock on the porch rail. He says it's is weather station.
Very good! I was raised with the same advice on how to look for signs of weather changes and to look at the tree leaves for oncoming storms/rain. Used to be able to tell when rain was coming and when by watching the lightening bugs in the summer months...few of those left these days. But years ago they were abundant and the lower they were to the ground the closer it was to raining. Higher flying in the tree tops it was going to not rain soon. I learned something from you! TY for telling me about the dew...I don't remember being taught that by my grandfather and others...I may have simply forgotten.

Ok…what’s up with a rock on the porch? I have a large rock on my porch from a creek bed…but what am I watching for?

If it's wet, it's raining.
If it's dry and hot, the sun is shining.
If it's cold or frozen to the porch, it's cold and maybe also wet.

Good morning, Mitch. It’s already 62 degrees here in Northern Maine this morning. We could see the warmest day year to date with a forecast high of 71 degrees. Thunderstorms are a possibility this afternoon but should mainly stay south of the crown of Maine.

I didn’t know we had tornado risk yesterday here in North Carolina. Just rained allll day and sometimes very hard rain.
And idk about major flooding in Gatlinburg either or the closing of newfound gap road/441 connecting Cherokee through the great smoky mountain national park! There’s some amazing footage people uploaded. Individual news way better than lame stream media or weather forecasters . Don’t even watch them anymore and I’m in emergency management !
I'd like to request prayer for my just-turned 90-yr-old uncle from CA flying in to our family's homes here in IA for a week- long visit. (We haven't seen him in-person for about 20 yrs!) Cannot believe all the rain we got again Ln both t-storms then more rain this am and middle of night . Wonder how many trees are down…pray for big dead tree not to fall on us as landlord won’t pay to have it cut down ! 🥴
I pray every time it storms or continues to saturate the ground as trees are falling everywhere !
Praying for those affected by major flooding and the tornadoes that reaped havoc across the nation destroying people’s homes etc. Some killed too. So scary!

Newburgh Indiana had a cold air funnel reach the ground, as well as 6 inches of rain. Flooding is bad in town.

Happy wednesday thank you for your daily updates. That low pressure has been spinning around fir several weeks coming into Cal. Then east but looped up to Montana then south now in the Ohio Valley. I forget what words Jim Cantore said but ut was very remarkable!. Nothing to push these storms through. I like that word ( power shower) 😅 for your pup they do sell thundershirts and they really help during stormy weather. I think Chewy has them or Amazon..stay safe in the risk areas and have a blessed safe day.🌎🎛🌌🐈

I'm out in the Red Bank area near you and we have signs of cyclonic winds this morning at 3-ish. I don't think it was a tornado, but it was definitely lifting wood off the ground over here.
I saw a picture in that area where damage was done i think. I actually drove to South Congaree to chase it some but there wasn't much to it but some small hail.
They think that I have a brain tumor on my left side. Waiting on imaging. Please pray there's nothing there. I'm so scared.

Hey buddy, hope you’re doing well. We have some young men that are supposed to be going on a fishing trip with the USC BASS fishing team on Lake Murray this Saturday. I’m hearing some rumblings about possible bad weather and rain is not a concern but thunder and lightning certainly is. Are you thinking we need to reschedule for another day?
Hey man! I do think there will be a risk of storms, but it's getting to that time of the year where it doesn't rain all day. As of now, there is a marginal risk of severe storms. So there definitely will be a chance. Just don't think it'll be a washout.
