In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
I love it that they prepared a collection of Goosebumps books in case one of the contestants was a creative genius.
They were probably placed in the caravan deliberately at the beginning of the filming cycle because this task was on the docket. If anyone pulled a James Acaster and actually paid attention to their surroundings, they could have potentially used them here.
Literally my first thought was, “okay, where can I find a copy of Goosebumps?”
@@jamiegdubois Desiree used videos on a phone, so I'm fairly sure they could have brought up the TV show on it and shown it to someone in the lab.
EDIT: And I just heard Alex say this very thing.
I’m sure those books are the reason we in 🇬🇧 now say ‘goosebumps’ instead of the classic ‘goose pimples’.

This is one task I know I could win since, whether it's a wind chill or a particularly moving song, I am perpetually on the edge of getting goosebumps.
All I need to do is scratch two pieces of cardboard together and I'm done.

I did not get this task. I can get goosebumps at will, and it takes me one second. Until I saw this task, I honestly thought everyone could do that.
If I just rub my hands over my upper arms or back or shoulders I get them.
For me, it's even just _thinking_ about snakes.

I am actually most surprised how little the contestants know their body. I have three sure ways of getting goose bumps on command.
Getting chilled is the long winded one, scratching around my back, there are a few great spots. Or running a feather or something light to the touch on certain parts of my skin, but I know exactly how and what. Takes just seconds. Very interesting task!
Maybe they do know their body. I can only get goosebumps if I'm cold. I'm reading all these comments about various ways people get goosebumps and now I'm wondering if I'm the weird one or if yall are. Lol

Lots of music that I like give me massive goosebumps, is this weird?
I paused the video after I heard the task, searched for Aniron and skipped ahead a little. I had goosebumps all over my arm (and down my back and leg) after like 20 seconds.
I also tried with Gollum's Song (LotR), For the Love of a Princess (Braveheart), Across the Stars (Star Wars), The Wheat (Gladiator).
Some of these I have massive goosebumps after less than 10 seconds, all of them in less than 30 seconds.
in my language, we don't call it goosebumps, but what would translate to "chicken flesh" or "chicken meat" sooooooooooooo I'd argue Alan nailed it
1. Get my phone and earbuds. 2. Plug in any music from Hans Zimmer. 3. Get goosebumps in 2 seconds flat.

Am I the only one who can make myself get goosebumps just by thinking about it? It's like a wave from my neck that you sort of pulsate down towards your arms and lower body. I can only do it a few times before I need to recharge and wait a few minutes in order to do it again. And it can't be too hot outside either.

My first instinct was "music will probably play a role in this task". I can now say that it took me two other choruses before, but the one in "Mother We Share" from Chvrches got me the intended goosebumps.

All I have to do is very lightly brush my fingers along my arms or back and I get instant goosebumps. I do it to myself all the time cause the "tingles" feel good.
My initial thought was to jump in the shower, stand under water as hot as you can, make sure to get your hair really wet, then run outside. If you don't think the goosebumps will last for you to get back in the lab, take a picture while inside and show it in the lab.

Alan brought in the namesake of goosebumps. Victoria drew rings on her arm that did not even remotely resemble bumps. To imply the two of them performed the task equally well is ludicrous.
I would not have been surprised if Greg decided that Alan also didn't derverve points, but if only one of them could get points, Alan deserved them much more than Victoria.
In Dutch we call goosebumps "chickenskin" so Alan's attempt definitely counts
