Thanks draining and replacing oil worked. The only part I don't understand how you got to the point where you were clearing the codes on that dash read out. Maybe you could do a video on how to set that up on a 93 eldorado 4.6 coupe or maybe tell me where to find that info?
On my 1994 Eldorado, I can trick the system by momentarily disconnecting the battery for about a second. It will then allow the AC compressor to start momentarily so you can start charging the system. This is easier with 2 people. If the system is just LOW and not empty, you can get an ounce or so in and then it will keep running and you can keep charging and you're good to go!
Question...92 Eldorado power steering leak on passenger side...wheel makes noise and can hardly turn it left/right. Was quoted $1400 for the 3 hoses..does this sound lije big expensive repair job.....probably pump also.....any answers would be appreciated.
That can be expensive for someone to do. Lot's of labor. It's noisy, and hard to steer, because it's low on fluid. You probably have major, minor leaks, and seepage, so they just want to do it all. If you run the car, and have someone turn the wheel all the way to lock, it will multiply fluid pressure, and you can probably look, and see the leaks yourself.
@@RustBeltAuto Thank you so much for replying. I thought of getting it fixed but worried about would go wrong next especially since I would be using it more and it would all be too costly . Thought of selling it but if it needs work plus don't know who would be interested and don't want to junk it. had it for 24 years.....Thank you again for your expert answer. Just not sure what to do.
thats R134a with stop leak. The Cheap stuff that messes up your entire A/C System. The compressor has to come off and clean it out. Flush A/C Lines, then Vac system and recharge the OEM way. Nice car, too (4.9L)!
I would like to ask if they are going to change the parameters in the menu somehow using the heating control. I feel like I did it. If I don't like it, but if so is there somewhere to get a listing of how to set it? 1993 Eldorado 4.9
Google how to calibrate hvac. What I did doesn't change any of that. I would guess you have a blend, or mode actuator issue. That's the best advice I can give.
@@RustBeltAuto Well, I just needed to erase the mistakes and I fumbled. And probably something changed when I switched it from the engine compartment went various buzzing sounds. Thank you for your advice I'll take a look at that calibration
Have had the compressor removed as it ran out of r12 and with 2 cans of r12 mechanic could not use it??..have 134 for kitchen refrigerators..? ?? Hot in desert 110 daily..tho sunroof now works..was told to go south for the Mexicans..
Yours was the most simplest explanation that now my air conditioning is ice cold thank you for helping me clear the codes
You're welcome.

I just remembered that stuff from doing it a long time ago. I was a mechanic for a cadillac used car dealer about 28 years ago.

I can't find the MAF sensor and I'm not even sure if there is one, I also can't find the list of codes

What kind of eldorado is that ? Is that a custom
Just a regular Eldo for that year. It's actually a pretty nice car. I like it.
