UPDATE!!! THE ONLY SEALER I WILL USE NOW IS LIQUITEX HIGH GLOSS VARNISH. TOMBOW LIQUID GLUE AND TRIPLE THICK BOTH CRACKED ON MY NOTEBOOKS I HAVE DONE AND THE TOMBOW ALSO PEELS. HERE IS AN UPDATED VIDEO: ua-cam.com/video/kzc97m83Zb0/v-deo.html
Thank you for this update!!!!!❤
All turned out great! My favorite is the Liquitex and the Hard resin. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!! Liquitex is still my favorite for sealing.
Excellent video thanks for posting.
Thank you so much!!
What a great video on how to seal diamond's on these kinds of things. You really went into great detail about each thing that really helps when it comes to this kind of things. Great video and take care my sweet Grace.
Hi my dear Angie!!! I tried to explain as best as I could 😊 Thank you for your kind words - I'm always worried that I didn't explain something well enough!! Love you my friend - take care!!
Hello Grace! As always, great video! Thanks a lot. God Bless you and your loved ones...🥰
Thank you so much Dora!! ❤🌹
Very interesting seeing different approach of sealing dart items. Really gives it a nice finished look. Thanks for showing us ms Grace.
Hi my sweet Rose!!! You are so welcome!! I love the finish it gave each item, and I don't have to worry about the beads falling off!! Take care my beautiful friend!!
Superb detailed video! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video. It doesn’t get any more informative than this. All of the sealers are good to use, just on different surfaces. I think I will try out the Liqui-Tex first on my notebook. Thank you once again.
My favorite sealer now is Liquitex!! Here is a video I did showing my latest findings: ua-cam.com/video/kzc97m83Zb0/v-deo.html
Only thing I use now is Liquitex 😊
Those are gorgeous. Hoping to try some soon.
Thank you Teresa!!
I FEEL THE LIQUITEX CAME OUT THE BEST FOR AN EVEN GLOSSY SHINE.
Great video! Thank you for sharing!
You are such a teacher from the heart! You explain everything throughout each step and the results! 💜
Thank you Debbie - your words make me so happy!! I love to teach and I always hope that I can help someone out!! 💕💖
Beautiful
Thank you
Hi Grace, those turned out great! Prayers and hugs ❤️. Love you
Hi Maureen!! Thank you so much - can really use the prayers and hugs! 🥰💖💕
Hi Grace! You did such a great video! Thank you so much for sharing. They all turned out beautifully! :) Hope all is well.
Hi Lynne!! Thank you!!! I enjoy trying new things out and sharing them! My brother started his new chemo today, so it will be awhile until we know if it's working!! Take care!!
Super and thorough job! 👍
Thank you so much for your kind words!! 😊💖
Thank you for showing different glues. I would like to tried the Liquites one. Great job.
You are so welcome Migdalia!! I really like the Luquitex worked - very nice and smooth. Thank you!!
Notice how your notebook with the UV resin snapped in the middle at the top when you bent it? It was very obvious to someone with UV resin experience that it snapped and broke @ 21:36 and you tried to just ignore it. Soft UV resin is not meant to be that flexible. It will continue to crack and it will lift. The mirror will be fine because it's on a hard surface. The bag will crack as well. The book mark will probably be fine is it doesn't get bent. You did a great experiment but you need to be honest about the result. When you poured the resin on the mirror in front of the UV light that was a cringe moment. If raw resin is across the room it will cure if exposed to the light or sun coming through the window. UV light travels.. I hope that your subscribers do not run out and buy expensive UV resin and ruin any of their beautiful art. It is really not meant to be used as a varnish or sealer for a textile or large product.
Awesome video! I think I prefer the finish of the Liquitex the best. I was wondering how to finish all my notebooks and bookmarks I am making for Christmas gifts. Thank you for the demonstration of different sealants. It was very helpful!
I absolutely love Liquitex! I have now bought the large bottle of it!! It's great - no fumes and it lasts great. It's been a few months since that video, and the Liquitex hasn't cracked and looks just like the day I put it on!!
I’m watching your video again. I may try the resin too! I have a UV light box that I used to use for resin for my polymer clay. Amazon just delivered right now as I’m writing this and I must have went to town on ordering because I even ordered the Modge Podge brush too lol 😂
LIQUITEX IS THE BEST LOOKING ONE FOR SURE. YOUR WORK LOOKS GREAT
Thank you!! Liquitex is by far my favorite!
Oh darn I made a purse for Christmas for a friend and I didn’t put anything on it 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I’m learning. I guess this is how we learn 🙈🙈
Thank you for sharing this! I’m going to give it a try and I’m going to get some of those pencil boxes. Those are handy!!
If she is very careful with the purse, then maybe none of the drills will fall off. My favorite thing to use on them I have decided is the Liquitex. I really like the hard UV resin on the pencil boxes, but I haven't tried the Liquitex on them yet - I need to experiment with that!
gbmaltese oh I better go back and listen to your video and see what you put on the pencil box lol See I’m a slow learner lol! 🤭🙊
@@Toltecgrl I used the hard UV resin on the pencil box, but the Liquitex might work just as well.
gbmaltese I might give the Liquitex a try first
Great ways to fix and seal
Thank you for watching 😊
The Liquitex worked very nice! 👍
I love it!!! I think it's my new favorite!
gbmaltese me too. I ordered it right away on your Amazon in the description and I followed you on Amazon lol.
Well not Yoir Amazon it’s was my account but you know what I mean. I got it from your list. I even ordered the extra plastic kits you mentioned to see how they work. It seems like they work better than the ones that come with the Diamond Art kits themselves.
@@Toltecgrl Thank you 😊💖
I love watching your videos. They are so helpful. I have used the hard resin on my plastic box after seeing your video that you showed how you sealed yours.
I tried the blue tombo glue on my notebook and a couple other pieces. It peeled off. So I am going to try these products.
Thank you so much for your kind words Marylin!! The resin works great!! I've tried Tombow glue too, and it peels so bad - I won't use it again!! I love the other products I used. I've used Triple Thick before, and it's great. The Liquitex goes on so easily and gives a lovely finish.
Nice video, Grace! Thanks for the comparisons.
Thank you Lisa!! You are very welcome! 😊💖
The look of the Liquitex is much smoother/nicer on the butterfly notebook. I would definitely buy that.
I really like the way the Liquitex looks also. It is very easy to apply and gives a nice smooth finish.
Thank you...I like them all, but I think I like the liquitex the best.
I have to say, Liquitex is fantastic!!
Hi Grace! Thank you for sharing this is really cool technique! I just love all of your little boxes and wallets and keychains! I hope that you are well, we'll talk soon. Love you my dear friend. 🙏💙🙏💙🙏
Hi Lisa!!! Thank you so much - I have enjoyed making all of my projects. I'm doing okay - I'm going to go see Darrell tomorrow - he started his new chemo today. Look forward to talking to you soon. Love you my sweet friend 🥰💕💖💙🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks grace
You are so informative 🥰🙏🏻🥰
Thank you so much Corana!! 🥰💕🥰
I like the Plaid Patricia Nimocks's s Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer, Gloss which Mrs. Coffee did a video it's cheap at Walmart I paid 5.38 in Florida and it dries in 5-6 minutes. I love it to be aware it smells like nail polish, and I used it in all three journals.
My very favorite sealer is Liquitex super high gloss!!! It leaves the shine, keeps the notebooks, canvases or whatever, nice and flexible. Big bonus - there is no smell and it's easy to use. I have tried lots of sealers, including spray-on ones, and Liquitex is hands down, the very best. I will update this video showing how the notebook with Liquitex has held up 😊
@@gbmaltese Awesome looking forward in watching the video😍
I think that I like the Liquitex best on the softer items and I like the hard resin on the hard things. I have asthma and Congestive Heart Failure so I may try Liquitex on everything at first and see how it goes. The keychains that I've done seem like the stones are really on there well. I hope they stay that way since I haven't sealed the ones I'm putting on gifts. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I really like the Liquitex!! If you have health problems, stay away from the resin. The Liquitex does a great job. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a fantastic, Happy New Year!!
I liked the Liquitex better than the resin. I feel like the Liquitex was softer looking. To me the Resin on the soft stuff made it look to plasticy ( I made that word up 😂) but you know like it made it look cheap. But on the hard stuff the resin looked nice 👍 I learned so much from this video!
Thanks so much grace I’m going to try the triple thick on my notebooks and mirror .
You are so welcome Antionette!! It's really easy to use and looks nice too.
Grace how is you brother doing hoping he’s feeling better
@@antionettekelley7569 Thank you Antionette. He started new chemo this week and we pray it will get rid of the cancer. He's doing okay and trying to stay strong!!
Thanks for the lvly video grace really realy enjoyed and so informative. Sending you big hugs lv and prayers🙏 love your nails💅 thinking if you and your brother, hugs to u and your fur babies take care my friend 💜♥️🌼🐾🐾🌹🥰
You are so welcome Bess, I'm glad you liked it. Really appreciate the hugs and love - can really use them now! Lots of hugs and love to you from me and my fur babies!! 💕💖🥰🌺🐶💐
Really helpful video thank you :). I am quite keen on the resin that looks beautiful. I use Liquitex and golden gloss varnish on my paintings but never thought to use on my 5d ones :).
Thank you Sonia!! I was really worried about the notebooks, key chains, and other items that would be handled, because those drills could fall off so easily. I'm having fun using the UV resin - it's quick and easy!! I love trying new things - just like you!! 😊💖
Enjoyed this video grace sending hugs n love xxx
Thank you so much Melissa!! Love and hugs to you 💖🥰💕💐🌺
Thank you SO much! I learned so much with this video.
You are very welcome!!
Hi Ya Grace!!! OMG the butterflies are so gorgeous on the notebooks.. Grace I would like to know where you purchased the notebooks and bookmarks because I would like to get my neice some because she loves butterflies too.. thanks for sharing Grace and I hope you have a great evening
You can actually find notebooks, bookmarks and many more items on Amazon!! Just type in "Diamond Painting Notebooks" or "Diamond Painting Bookmarks" in the Amazon search bar, and all sorts of items will show up. I hope you are doing well!! Take care of yourself!
Thank you Grace. Did go in and purchase the Liquitex and the Mod Podge brush. They all came out beautiful. Think however the hard plastic case you did is my favorite. Great tutorial. 👧🏻
Thank you so much Lyn!! I love my pencil case so much - the UV resin is fast and easy to do. I also love the Liquitex and the Mod Podge brush is very easy to use and gives a nice smooth finish.
Grace!!!
Dearly!!! Thank you so much!! I really do like the Liquitex a lot!! I think it might be great for you to try it out. We are hanging on over here at the moment!! Taking one day at a time. I hope you are doing well, and staying warm!!! Sending lots of warm hugs, prayers and blessings to you my dear friend!! Love you lots 😊💖🥰💕
Lovely 😍😍😍
Thank you!! 🥰💖
Great tutorial video my friend!!! I am going to have to get a modge podge brush and some Liquitex. 😄😘🎄💎🎅
Thank you my friend!! That mod podge brush applies the liquids on so smoothly - love it!! The Liquitex is great to work with too!! 🥰💖🎄🎅💎
Do you ever use mod podge clear on the one with glitter.
@@maryannbirdsong2224 no I never use modge podge to seal a diamond painting. It will yellow and crack.
@@kendraiacouzze4930 what do you use?
@@maryannbirdsong2224 DecoArt triple thick super gloss like Grace. I will be trying Liquitex.
Hello Grace! I just finished my first special drill and I wondered what you used to seal a partial paiting.
I use Liquitex High Gloss Varnish. Here is a link to a video I did using it: ua-cam.com/video/kzc97m83Zb0/v-deo.html
@@gbmaltese thank you!
I like liquitecs , I have used triple thick but only 1 layer. thank you for the tests.
I think Liquitex is my favorite, but Triple Thick is a close second!! I started with only one layer of the Triple Thick on it, but the drills were still moving a bit, so I was afraid not to put a little bit more on it. It's kind of trial and error when working with them!! 💖😊
What do you suggest for sealing coasters? Great video. Thank You!
I have started using Liquitex High Gloss Varnish for all of my sealings. Here is a video I made about it: ua-cam.com/video/kzc97m83Zb0/v-deo.html
I don’t have a nail light. Have you you tried the soft resin in the window and does it need direct sun light
I have not cured mine in the window, but I know that people do. The sun light should be coming directly into the window that you set your piece in. I have read that it takes longer to cure it in the sun, but it should work.
can you use the resin without the light ? will it dry on its own ?
The UV resin has to have UV rays, so you could put it in the sun to cure instead of a UV light (one like you use on gel nails). This would include putting it on a windowsill that has sunlight hitting it. It will not cure without UV though. Epoxy resin will cure without light - it is a much longer process. You have to mix two parts together, then apply it and wait about 24 hours for it to be completely cured - it will also dry very hard and stiff. Hope that helps!!
@@gbmaltese yes thank you
@@wintrykiss you are very welcome!!
As I was watching you coat the compact I was thinking that you were too close! They look great. I like the Liquitex for the notebooks. I have one I need to seal Tfs. Hope all is well.
Lol - I didn't even think about it until I rubbed my brush over that hard glob!! The Liquitex is really nice!! Very easy to use and gives such a smooth finish! Darrell started his new chemo today - we are praying that it works for him and that he stays comfortable as possible!!
@@gbmaltese I'll be praying!
@@nancysworld4178 Thank you so much Nancy!! I really appreciate it!! 💖🥰
Thanks for doing this. I got the resin that is sun cured. Here in Fl thought it would be good. Need to try the liquitex. Hope your brother is improving.
The resin that is sun-cured, is also called UV resin. It's perfect for our sunny states, because you can just use the sun to cure your pieces!! I really like the liquitex too - it's easy to use. My brother started his new chemo today, so we will have to wait and see how it works!!
They all look great! I can’t decide what to use. Which one do you like best?
It's hard to decide. I like them all. I think my top two would be the Liquitex and the UV resin. Choose something that you feel comfortable using.
This a question. I finished my leather bookmarks. Now I need to seal them . What is best for leather?
I only use Liquitex High Gloss Varnish for all my sealing needs these days.
OMG! I have sooo much to learn! I had no idea you could do all that with diamonds! Where can I get information on those?
You can purchase notebooks, key chains, etc... from several places. Some of them are cesdeals.com, peggybuy.com, fansells.com, and I'm sure there are others!! They are fun to do!
What would u use for the vanity mirrors
I have started using only Liquitex High Gloss Varnish on all of my pieces like this. Here's a video on it: ua-cam.com/video/kzc97m83Zb0/v-deo.html
Wow...Thank you so much. I used Tumbow glue and then sprayed Krylon on my keychain DP projects. It looks ok, I wasn't sure what to do with my notebooks though. I agree about the Liquitex...but what do you think about using Liquitex on the wristlet? Thank you for any help and I so appreciate your experimenting. Love ya!!!!
Hi Cindy!! I quite using the Tombow glue, as it started peeling after a couple of months - since you sprayed yours with Krylon too, you probably won't have that problem. I would think the Liquitex would work on the wristlet - I don't think it would hurt to try it!! It's very easy to work with!! You are so welcome - love you!! 💖🥰
Thank you Grace for doing and showing use and results of these products. Great information.
Where did you buy the resin? I know Amazon has resin for sale but you said you bought yours elsewhere.
I know you explained which resin you used for which items. Is that the main difference between hard resin and soft resin, its pliability?
When you decided to do the entire wristlet did you go over the butterfly again or pick up at the edge of it?
Also the Liquidtex notebook, when you first showed it was pliable did it "fold" at first or was it just how you were holding it? If it did fold, was it due to a different amount (thicker) you applied to the center where the gems are more predominant?
Again thank you for doing and sharing how these products are working with the dp accessories. Have a wonderful and safe holiday season!🤗🙏💜💜💜
I bought this UV resin on Amazon - I have it linked under this video in my Amazon store, under my Resin Crafts. The hard resin will dry hard and stiff, the soft will dry more pliable, as I showed on the notebook. The Liquitex is fairly pliable also - I really like it. On the wristlet, I only applied to the areas that I hadn't put any resin on - I didn't go back over the butterfly. I hope that helps - let me know if you have anymore questions! Have a wonderful holiday and stay safe!! 😊💖
I like them all
Thank you!!
What type of brush do you use to rub on the resin?
When I was using resin, I used silicone brushes - you can find them on Amazon.
Hi, do they still sparkle? Can’t tell through the camera. Thank you
They do sparkle, but in a different way. Anytime you put something over the drills, it is going to affect the way that they sparkle. I think the Liquitex looks really great. Besides, it's better to have a little bit of change to the sparkle than to lose the drills on pieces like this. On large diamond paintings, I frame them to keep from having to seal them. Hope that helps!
gbmaltese thank you
They all look good hard to choose one lol
It really is hard to choose!! Just pick the one you think is easiest for you!! 😊💕
Loved this informative video. Do you think the liquitex will work on special drill cards as well? Love and hugs. P.s. I became a grandma 2 days ago.
Congratulations on becoming a grandma - how exciting!!! I haven't had that wonderful experience - enjoy that grandbaby! I've been working on my special drill cards today, and I don't think I'm going to seal them, as the drills seem to stick really well to the cards, and they won't be handled like key chains, book markers and other items. The Liquitex might work, but since it's such a think liquid, I'm kind of worried that it might warp the card - I'm really not sure though. Have a wonderful weekend!!
Where do you get the notebooks and book marks
I get them from cesdeals.com - here is a link to these types of items: www.cesdeals.com/category/needle-arts--craft-544?son_category_id=2082
Thank you thank you for sharing love ❤️ the way they came out
I can’t wait to try it
You are so welcome! I love them all!! I was happy to find some different things that will work!!
Great video and experiments. You do NOT want to use polyurethane it yellows in about two days, even the one that says clear. I experimented with that on my counter tops. Ended up sanding it off and starting over, wow what a job that was.
I am so glad you told me about the polyurethane!! I feel so sorry for you having to sand everything and start over - what a mess!!
I ues mod podge on diamond art at made very could and take the share away and get tombow trying find some thing else try that 2 ,one bottle you use you that be ok on diamond art pic?
You can use this on smaller projects. Here is a link to a video showing what I use on bigger projects: ua-cam.com/video/kzc97m83Zb0/v-deo.html
So you liquitex better and tombow glue ?
@@paulineearhart3129 Yes, I like Liquitex much better

Hello Grace! Great tutorial, I think each one came out nice. But I think I’m gonna use the liqutex. Can I use the the liqutex to seal my diamond paintings? Please let me know you thoughts. Thanks. ❤️
Hi Rachelle!! Thank you!! I really do like the Liquitex, and I think it would be just fine to use on your diamond paintings. It is very easy to use and I think it leaves a lot of the shine on the drills. 😊💕
Thanks Grace. Your truly the best.

Can you something other than the resin?
Triple Thick and Liquitex aren't resin. I showed those at the beginning of the video - and I also showed how they looked after they dried at the end. I just applied a couple of coats and let them dry for 24 hours. Maybe you missed it when you watched.
Oh yes that right I did see that. Sorry
You usually do great videos but this was toooo long and you repeated urself wayyyy too much.
Sorry. When making this type of video, I have to stop and start the camera so often, that I sometimes forget what I might have said. I was just hoping to make myself clear in what I was doing.
@@gbmaltese you were deffenetly clear hun ;)
