Hi Andy, great overview. I have been traveling in Europe since June as a digital nomad with a GR3 and a Recycled Firefighter 24 for a daypack that can also pack into the GR3 (or clip to the front with carabiners) and it has been a great combination. It certainly does well as a travel pack.
This comment is my current dilema. I have GORUCK G3 for travel (I have to pack a lot for work) but, would like something smaller (like 21l) to fit under the seat. Something to pack with just the essentials, like my second laptop, extra jackets/clothes, batteries etc. That I would hook to my GR3 with carabineers. I'm torn between the Recycled Firefighter 24 and the GORUCK GR1. What thoughts, advice, and suggestions do you guys have?
@@Jose-ds1de I am partial to the RF 24/12 because it isn’t nearly as stiff. And if you go with the XPAC, even lighter and more packable. I also found it to be the more comfortable of the two. Also costs less.
Hi. How tall are you? Also, would you use this as a daily everyday backpack? I do carry heavy coats everyday in addition to my computer, water, and the occasional supermarket purchase. I am 188cm / 6'2" and 90kilos / 180 pounds. Also, do you use a water pouch for this gr3? Thank you very much
I'm 5'9" and around 140lbs. I personally find these too big for EDC. They're basically suitcase sized, and I would feel silly plopping one of these down in a meeting unless I was carrying some sort of more fancy equipment or something. Whenever I use the GR3, I've either had a smaller shoulder bag like the Tom Bihn Pilot with a water bottle or I've put one in the GR3, no sorts of pouches or batters for me. It might be worth your checking out some of the GR2 bags. They're a lot slimmer, so they won't look as awkward on a taller/thinner profile, and they can still hold a ton.

I love my RF 24 hr! If you don’t mind, care to share a photo of your load out?
Andy Modell happy to, just not sure how to share photos to comments
Hrm... youtube is definitely limited in that regard. Maybe a link to an imjur or something?

Hi Andy, could you compare these two bags against the bellroy weekender plus 45L?
Hey there,
I actually have never seen a Bellroy Weekender Plus before, so I don't think I can give a definite answer.
@@AndyModellBackpacks sure, np. I hope you can do a review on it in the future 🙏
I'll see if I ever end up with one, and if so, of course I'll review!
when’s the toilet paper check for these two??
Sadly, I don't think I have enough TP for these!
You’re awesome
No, you’re awesome, RUCKSRUS!

You need a better microphone, the videos are a lot better when you're not speaking across a room
Thanks for the feedback. I think I forgot to apply the audio filter in editing, but I’ll look into some inexpensive mics
