i love buying and selling on ebay - the more pictures and description you have really sells your item and i've had such good feedback from buyers im at 100% ( always take pictures on a clear plain background so things show up better ) . plus re list items yourself and there are always hidden charges ebay do
This video definitely helped me enormously.I''ve wanted to try eBay for a while but wasn't clever enough to use it with confidence. After watching your 'tutorial' I'm going to give it a go. Thanks Emma. Another, on selling on Ebay, would be appreciated!
Hi Emma...Thank you for the great video. Yes, please do one on tips for "Selling" on Ebay as well. Would love to hear about your tips and tricks. Thanks again.
Another thing to look at for bags are stitches! I'd source a pic from an authentic retailer like Saks or the brand's website. I bought and expensive bag from Vestiaire and compared the look and number of stitches to the authentic from a listing on Bergdorf's!
I’ve sold a lot on eBay and I find photos and descriptions so so important to the success of a quick sale. Some people have such bad pictures and information in the description I feel like what is the point of putting it on if that’s the effort they’ve gone to 🤷🏻♀️After selling some techy things last month I then treated myself to some bnwt M&S cashmere jumper and beanie #secondhandbutgrand Great helpful video 💋
I’m so happy I found your channel. You are smart, funny, elegant, kind and honest. I believe you, and I feel like I really know you. You don’t act yourself to make importation, and you don’t make me feel bad about myself. I feel like you love being on YT and you don’t need that, you do I because it’s a passion of yours. Your message is always nice to here, especially the eco-friendly vibes. And although I can tell you really believe in your lifestyle, you don’t talk about it obsessively or trying to make it the only way/truth. I appreciate you for all of those things. I don’t know you in real life and maybe I got it all wrong here, but this is how I feel about you, and it makes me feel better:) I’m also a Leo (August 15) and my whole life I was sure I’m not matching the Leo vibes because I’m more of an introvert. Today I know that it has nothing to do with that and that my strength doesn’t necessarily has to be preformed in a way of talking, touching, optimism and so on... I feel like maybe we share this experience of life.
Some bag brands of smooth skinned leather tend to scratch very easily and with dark colours these faults aren’t easily seen on photos. I think sellers should be entirely honest in the description if there are faults which are fully reflected in the sale price. Also, I think it’s a good idea to check out review videos of particular bags on youtube and buy a dirt cheap dupe to road test it to see if it’s a keeper & you’re going to get the wear out of it before parting with money.
I love that you mentioned 'sell to buy' because that's what I do, I have a one in one out policy when it comes to shoes once my shoe racks filled up. I live with my dad and he always scoffs whenever I mention that I'm selling something but it's because I want something else and am trying not to be a hoarder when I'm not getting my use out of something so thank you for mentioning that because I feel a bit more validated 😂 I'm American and I prefer to sell on Poshmark because it's a very active platform and I've found it easy to sell on, I've sold a few things on Depop but it doesn't seem to be as common here. I've had my ebay account hacked twice so I just stay away from ebay unless there's a very specific item that I can only find on ebay. I've also sold a few pairs of shoes on Vestiaire but it's a much more drawn out process to receiving payment and the profits aren't always the best.
Thanks for putting this together Emma. I last used ebay over 10 years ago so I really didn't know how to navigate the website anymore, especially in regards to knowing when a product being sold is authentic.
Its great that you do more second hand shopping now, I switched awhile ago and only buy second hand/vintage clothes or whatever I can. Also I like ebay to, I would say I mostly buy cacti and vintage Levis on there and minerals/crystals.
Hey Emma another fab video! The only thing I'd disagree with is serial numbers. I never post mine online as fraudsters use this info to sell counterfeit bags. I'll show part of it along with part of the original receipt xx
@@narora1026 I sold my Antigona and again the same thing. People may think I'm dodgy but I think when they see what I've sold and my feedback they realise it really is about protecting us all from counterfeit goods.
Awesome video loved every minute as an avid ebay buyer and seller you have now increased my chances of getting a Burberry bag. Yes please to a video on selling. I usually look at mis spelt brands on eBay but will now take all your tips into account too.
I love your videos and this one is particularly thorough & resourceful for a sustainable fashion lover like me! thank you, love your style) xoxo from Russia
Hi Emma! Have you ever bought something from Japanese sellers? They are well known for their stock but I'm curious on custom fees or any other fees that are not included in the price. Any knowledge on that? Thanks
Full of great info-most of which I didn’t know as I’m a novice with EBay. PS The editing for the video, including the screen vids as you went along 👍 super helpful. Thanks Guys!!!!!
I would think that if a seller on eBay was selling a luxury item that they would give a very thorough description. If selling a bag I would give the Model and size, if more than one, the year it was made, the type of material....if leather what kind, colour, etc. Would you not also show many photos of the front, back, interior, pockets, hardware, etc. If there wasn’t this many details, I would assume the seller knows very little about the luxury item and therefore I would doubt its authenticity. Thank you so much for this video Emma as I’ve never purchased through EBay. I’m not that trusting when it comes to parting with my money, especially for a luxury item.
Emma Hill I guess so. I’ve sold household items and furniture on our local (Canadian) on line shop and taken more photos and given better descriptions...lol!
Can you do a video on how you go about selling to buy?? I have a lot of expensive items I don't want but don't want to give away or throw out, due to the investment, so would love some tips x
I was in a shop last week and looked at the Celine bag in a box (?), box bag (?) and omg, it is stunning, the action on the concertina of the inside 🥰😍, so now I am on the hunt, so these tips are 👌🏻
bought a pair of LV Star trail boots from eBay unfortunately they turned out to be fake but after this vid I am going to delve back onto ebay and try and snag a pair
Hi Emma, I’ve been looking for a vintage Burberry trench coat for a while now and so many sellers (even are Vestaire) insist that the check pattern on lining doesn’t match up at the seams for vintage coats. Can you please confirm if yours does? And does it match up perfectly? Thanks!
Thanks, Emma, great tips. In the past, I had some very good experiences buying from EBay, then I had a couple of negative ones and I became wary. I think if I need anything in future I'll give it another chance. Have you ever used Etsy for anything?
I have a question with sizes if you could please help me. What size is a women's U.S 20 jacket in the U.K? Also what size shoe is a women's 11 in the U.K? Thank you so much every chart I have looked at on line all say something different. Again Thank you.
I would suggest using the charts the individual brands provide as their style and fit may vary slightly meaning there isn't a standard cross over for sizing. Some sizes come up larger or smaller depending on the brand. 👍🏼 ❤️
I noticed the label on the Burberry trench coat said "Burberrys" with an S. Is that legit? you are probably more familiar with various labels (especially vintage) than I am. I have a Burberry trench that I bought from the Burberry boutique so its obviously authentic and the label only says Burberry and the font is very different.
Yes it used to be with an 's' and then it was dropped during a rebrand, although they did re-release it (last season I believe) so lots of the newer items have the 's' again. 👍🏼
👋🏼 iam buying my lux bags 💼 only from Japan , because they have very strict laws and they really can’t sell fake products… there’s a lot of big sellers in Japan they sell 10.000 pieces fot the “buy it now “ and “auctions “ …i have so my Chanel double flap 24k gold vintage from 1988 and it is like NEW 🖤🤌🏼 I always looking just for these sellers… I bought already gucci, chanel, prada, ysl …and they are all authentic 🍀 that’s my choice and tip for you all 😉👋🏼
i love buying and selling on ebay - the more pictures and description you have really sells your item and i've had such good feedback from buyers im at 100% ( always take pictures on a clear plain background so things show up better ) . plus re list items yourself and there are always hidden charges ebay do
Smart and beautiful AND producing content like this? Who else thinks she’s PERFECT? ❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️
Great tips 👍🏼

Thank you, Im glad you found it useful 👍🏼
Good tips 👍🏻the steaming cup of tea next to you is so aesthetic
A video on selling tips, would be really good ! that was very informative, thank you xx
Hi Emma...Thank you for the great video. Yes, please do one on tips for "Selling" on Ebay as well. Would love to hear about your tips and tricks. Thanks again.
I started on eBay in 2002. All your tips are spot on! Thank you for the additional advice!
Another thing to look at for bags are stitches! I'd source a pic from an authentic retailer like Saks or the brand's website. I bought and expensive bag from Vestiaire and compared the look and number of stitches to the authentic from a listing on Bergdorf's!

That was great, thanks Emma! Yes please a video about selling items!

I love that you made this video, I think we all need to be more conscious and buy second hand as much as possible in this fast fashion world.
I love that you mentioned 'sell to buy' because that's what I do, I have a one in one out policy when it comes to shoes once my shoe racks filled up. Would love a video on seller tips! I don't sell alot but some stuff sells really easily and some doesnt get views. tips would be awesome! 👍
Loved the detailed explanation! Never bought from eBay but definitely going to browse straight after finishing this video!
Great video, Emma! ❤️ I watched the video even If I won't buy from eBay because I just love the way you explain, give advice. 🌞📌
Wonderful content for buying on eBay guidelines. I will watch this again with my notepad. Thank you.
Fab, detailed video as always Emma! I buy most of my clothes off eBay and Depop now and I’ve got some real bargains 👍🏻🌟
Its great that you do more second hand shopping now, I switched awhile ago and only buy second hand/vintage clothes or whatever I can. Also I like ebay to, I would say I mostly buy cacti and vintage Levis on there and minerals/crystals.
Hi Emma I loved your video as always. Very interesting and useful. I would love to hear some tips about selling on Depop please
Hey Emma another fab video! The only thing I'd disagree with is serial numbers. I never post mine online as fraudsters use this info to sell counterfeit bags. I'll show part of it along with part of the original receipt xx
VJ Loves me too! I’m currently selling my givenchy antigona on eBay and have not uploaded the serial number for the same reason!
@@narora1026 I sold my Antigona and again the same thing. People may think I'm dodgy but I think when they see what I've sold and my feedback they realise it really is about protecting us all from counterfeit goods.
Yes completely agree with not showing the full number and as you say once you see someone has such positive feedback that is always helpful. 👍🏼
Awesome video loved every minute as an avid ebay buyer and seller you have now increased my chances of getting a Burberry bag. Yes please to a video on selling. I usually look at mis spelt brands on eBay but will now take all your tips into account too.
Oohh so many fab tips! Thanks for sharing x
I love your videos and this one is particularly thorough & resourceful for a sustainable fashion lover like me! thank you, love your style) xoxo from Russia
Yes I would like for you to do a video on selling on Ebay as I need to get involved in this!
Hi Emma. Happy Holidays. Thank you so much for this informative video. I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful week.
Hi Emma! Have you ever bought something from Japanese sellers? They are well known for their stock but I'm curious on custom fees or any other fees that are not included in the price. Any knowledge on that? Thanks
I haven't Im afraid. But if you were to google customs fees from Japan to UK, it should give you a good idea of potential additional costs 👍🏼
Full of great info-most of which I didn’t know as I’m a novice with EBay. PS The editing for the video, including the screen vids as you went along 👍 super helpful. Thanks Guys!!!!!
Great video, thought it was very clear and full of good points 👍

I agree but I guess some people just expect the item to sell itself 🤷🏼♀️
Emma Hill I guess so. I’ve sold household items and furniture on our local (Canadian) on line shop and taken more photos and given better descriptions...lol!
Great tips Emma! Thanks so much!
Great advice Emma , Please Do an upload on selling .Xxxxx

Can you do a video on how you go about selling to buy?? I have a lot of expensive items I don't want but don't want to give away or throw out, due to the investment, so would love some tips x
I did include it in a video about 3-4 weeks ago - its titles sell to buy, hope that helps 👍🏼
That was great 👍 I found eBay quite scarey to begin with, there’s so much to navigate through.
I was just searching ebay for a Chanel scarf, when I thought oops I’ve missed Emma’s video!
I was in a shop last week and looked at the Celine bag in a box (?), box bag (?) and omg, it is stunning, the action on the concertina of the inside 🥰😍, so now I am on the hunt, so these tips are 👌🏻
😍
Great content Emma and thank you for sharing.
bought a pair of LV Star trail boots from eBay unfortunately they turned out to be fake but after this vid I am going to delve back onto ebay and try and snag a pair
Also helpful for selling too 👍🏻

Hi Emma, I’ve been looking for a vintage Burberry trench coat for a while now and so many sellers (even are Vestaire) insist that the check pattern on lining doesn’t match up at the seams for vintage coats. Can you please confirm if yours does? And does it match up perfectly? Thanks!
This was brilliant thank you 😊 Xxx
Fabulous tips! Thank you :) xxx
So informative 👍
If the bag did have a serial number inside where would you go to check it's authentic?
Thanks, Emma, great tips. In the past, I had some very good experiences buying from EBay, then I had a couple of negative ones and I became wary. I think if I need anything in future I'll give it another chance. Have you ever used Etsy for anything?
Yes I have used Etsy for a few things and love it. We are currently looking on there for some custom furniture 👍🏼
I have a question with sizes if you could please help me. What size is a women's U.S 20 jacket in the U.K? Also what size shoe is a women's 11 in the U.K? Thank you so much every chart I have looked at on line all say something different. Again Thank you.
Shoe size 11 us is a 9 uk. Not sure about the jacket but I believe uk would be a 22...... double check that.
I would suggest using the charts the individual brands provide as their style and fit may vary slightly meaning there isn't a standard cross over for sizing. Some sizes come up larger or smaller depending on the brand. 👍🏼 ❤️
Thx emma
Hi Emma☺️. Will you film a vlogmas this year? Great video. Have a nice sunday😘
No vlogmas this year I'm afraid, although you can catch our antics on Instagram stories ❤️
I noticed the label on the Burberry trench coat said "Burberrys" with an S. Is that legit? you are probably more familiar with various labels (especially vintage) than I am.
