- Don't quite understand how Vekoma Flying Dutchman coasters like Firehawk at Kings Island, Batwing at Six Flags America or this one work? Well here you can check out how the seats tilt you back into a lying position & how the coaster flips over at the top of the lift hill to put riders into a flying position, as well as all the other transitions it makes as it goes through the circuit.
i love this flying coaster! people complain that the restraints are too loose and they FEEL like they are going to fall out, thats what makes this coaster so fun
I have only rode it twice, but I love the way it looks within the park. I hope that Carowinds NEVER gets rid of it. It looks beautiful in the middle of the park. If only it were possible to increase the speed of the loading/unloading procedures.

I live close to this park and I LOVE THIS RIDE!!!!!!!
I've been on the Firehawk at King's Island, which is like this ride. scary at first, but then you'll like it at the end
I never thought going into a loop would be so intense.........until I rode this.
I got back yesterday! It was so scary but fun! When I got off the ride, my hair was all fluffed up! Hehe. It was funny. But the scary part is when your just feeling all your weight weigh down on the straps. You feel like your gonna fall out! But then you go upside down, twist, all sorts of scary things. But your laying down. :D

It's at carowinds on the border of NC and SC always go to carowinds on Sundays in October. It's decorated for Halloween and there are no lines
July 21st, this ride WILL see me. can't wait :)
they used to do this with the Flying Dutchmans but there was a maintenance issue which ultimately prevented the seats from tilting on the lift hill
Nighthawk was one of the best rides the only part that freaks me out is I'm small so I feel like I can fall right out of the seat lol
man i wish the place i work at gets this kind of coaster it looks cool

Is it me or is this Vekoma Flying Dutchman slightly different than the other two? The two heart-line rolls on this one you are inside of the track or laying down where as you are on the outside of the track or flying on Batwing and FireHawk.
That's the prototype. It was originally called Stealth at California's Great American.

Hey COASTERFORCE. Is this ride scary? I'm afraid of heights, and refuse the ride the intimidator (Already rode it twice, and hated it!) And going this saturday with my sister and her friends. I wanna ride it, but not if I end up getting sick from getting scared.
This rode honestly makes you feel like a bird. Rode it 2 times in a row!

though vekoma (which made both) says stingray is a remake of flying dutchman
@TheSupersonicmadness naah, I love Air don't get me wrong. But it's nothing special. Just another record setter for The Towers IMO. A Dutchmen would go down pretty well I reckon.
And yes, it takes this long EVERY TIME.
CF, How come this has a quiet lift while firehawk's is EXTREMELEY LOUD.

Easily better than Firehawk, the water and surroundings as a whole are better alone. What do you guys think?
