Making mandala coasters this weekend! The molds I got recommended pouring a clear layer first, kind of like you did here but tinted. Can you do it with an opaque color too?
heyyyyyy lovely ... I would never hate you for asking questions ha ha you can do all of those things. The only thing to worry about when coating with powder is then filling all of the nooks and crannies with resin afterwards. You may come across more surface bubbles.
Hi there! Found some PVA glue and will be top coating this week. Question about the drip offs, don’t they show up on the sides of the coaster as well? Should I cover the edges with PVA too?
@@cruskaiaalbert-hall9195 they can do yes .. but only when flood coating. If you aim to top coat without spillages that would be ideal. I would not do the edges no .... this can create yet another lip of resin to get rid of. X but that is just my personal preference x

@@ClairesCraftyCorner its much better for your mould than any other mothered, i have used it for a long time when i do soaps and still have the moulds some are 8 yrs old, all you need is a little travel spirts bottle (the ones that come in the travel sets) not a normal heavy spray bottle, the alcohol will keep working under the surface and the top will evaporate ( you should have your mask on its stinks haha ) but i have also used vodka and that half the percent of isopropanol if your scared of it lol, for me once my resin is mixed i give it a light sprits and leave it one side boy do the bubbles pop its fun to watch, then mix in my colours, domino moulds i dust with talc shake out, and then pour and have had the best results this way i done 2 sets the same time one with out what i just listed i.e the way most of us do it and the way i just listed the i couldnt believe the difference, i even clean my moulds with it and not one has had any problems just make sure its a fine mist not a spray and a little goes along way you can still use your heat gun if needed but i wouldnt touch just in case but then people touch who have used alcohol ink thats when im cringe haha hope that make some sense
found it and ordered it now i just need you to do a video just on how to use it so i dont balls that up as well, im so annoyed, i really wish i hadnt top coated it but as i painted it with mica power using toonpish crafts teq i really wanted to make sure it was sealed and give it more shine the front looks stunning but the back well that need serious help lol
ahhhh girl towards the end of this video you will see how I applied it xxx Latex really does behave better than resin it doesnt flow at all ... it just stays where you put it x so hopefully what you see in this video will work xx

Making mandala coasters this weekend! The molds I got recommended pouring a clear layer first, kind of like you did here but tinted. Can you do it with an opaque color too?
Don’t hate me for all the questions! But I’ve also seen some people coat the coaster with color powder first before pouring - what do you think?
heyyyyyy lovely ...
Since you used a latex product on them if you were to be selling them, would you not have to put a latex warning on them for those with latex allergies?
Yes absolutely 💯
❤😊
What exactly is the latex you put on the back of the coaster then pealed it off.
Its to stop the resin from dripping on to the bottom of the coaster and ruining it xx ❤
I need to know what to buy. I don’t know what latex is. Thank you. I made the coasters and will work on them tomorrow.
I looked up liquid latex so now I can order some.
@@nancymorgan1269 ohhhh sorry lovely ... I know you have found it now but Latex is a form of rubber ... used often in the Special effects makeup world. It is linked below the video on my Amazon storefront xxx
what brand is the liquid latex you used ?
Heyyy Farrah... cant remember off top of head .. but it is linked below x
Is this washable ?
i managed to catch the last 5mins just got im gutted
do you ever use isopropanol ? spray thats what i always use as my heat gun is to strong and my touch blew up ever since i have just use a light spray of that on and some moulds with detail say dominos i talc them 1st i fin that works well
Heyyyy girl ... I literally saw you right in at the end x so sorry I didnt get a chance to chat longer but thank you so much for watching ❤❤❤ No I have never tried it ... I know people do .. but I am too nervous x haaaa
I will try it on cheap moulds first x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner its much better for your mould than any other mothered, i have used it for a long time when i do soaps and still have the moulds some are 8 yrs old, all you need is a little travel spirts bottle (the ones that come in the travel sets) not a normal heavy spray bottle, the alcohol will keep working under the surface and the top will evaporate ( you should have your mask on its stinks haha ) but i have also used vodka and that half the percent of isopropanol if your scared of it lol,
for me once my resin is mixed i give it a light sprits and leave it one side boy do the bubbles pop its fun to watch, then mix in my colours, domino moulds i dust with talc shake out, and then pour and have had the best results this way i done 2 sets the same time one with out what i just listed i.e the way most of us do it and the way i just listed the i couldnt believe the difference, i even clean my moulds with it and not one has had any problems just make sure its a fine mist not a spray and a little goes along way you can still use your heat gun if needed but i wouldnt touch just in case but then people touch who have used alcohol ink thats when im cringe haha hope that make some sense
@@elliewilliams4131 heyyyy girl thank you so much this does make sense xx thank yoooooo
Can I ask how much customs was please Claire? I want to order this but I'm told even if I don't pay tax on my purchase, I'll pay customs x
Heyyyyy lovely ... im so sorry I dont know 😢😢😢 They sent these to me xx They are very responsive .. it might be worth asking them if they know xx ❤
@@ClairesCraftyCorner ok thank you. It's usually printed on the packaging. I'll give them a message x gorgeous coasters!!
found it and ordered it now i just need you to do a video just on how to use it so i dont balls that up as well, im so annoyed, i really wish i hadnt top coated it but as i painted it with mica power using toonpish crafts teq i really wanted to make sure it was sealed and give it more shine the front looks stunning but the back well that need serious help lol
ahhhh girl towards the end of this video you will see how I applied it xxx Latex really does behave better than resin it doesnt flow at all ... it just stays where you put it x so hopefully what you see in this video will work xx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner i need to put mine on the top part because i was doing the top and the tape all stuck to the back, by the time i coat it again it would be a pretty murder weapon, but i cant believe is it didnt stick to the square one and i was really carful doing this one cos of the wiggly edges so i have latex meant to be coming from your link tomorrow, now i have to hope the latex doesnt slide off my perfect top lol
@@ClairesCraftyCorner shame you cant re use the latex ( watching video lol im surprised it takes so long to dry this will have taken a whole week to do lol) oh what pens do you use that are permeant i bought posca then watched your cake stan and found out they are not and i need permanent thank chick oh and waiting for my mug lol
