I was legit walking and minding my business, never even seen the boy before and he came up and said "You’re…ugly" and then ran off. Like wtf I hated middle school. Children are trash a lot of the time at that age

One thing that also should be taken into account is who they were surrounded by. If you're an 8 surrounded by 10s who have great hair, skin, trendy clothes , by default people are gonna think your ugly . even if its only by comparison.

Probably her environment. I noticed when this was going around on TikTok a lot of pretty black girls who lived in predominantly white areas were saying how they were considered ugly and felt ugly till they left.
Oh WAIT I do remember someone online saying I look like Cedric the Entertainer. I don't think he's ugly at all. And we look nothing alike. I thought that was funny though. Oh and I had a girl in my group when I worked at a residential treatment facility who had to stay in her room. She was calling me all kind of shit. It didn't phase me in the least. I literally can't remember anyone calling me ugly when I was younger. I'm sure they did though. Not my problem.
I knew at a very young age... 2 or 3 years old. 🥺 Didn't help that I had a disabilities and had difficulty seeing well too (one eyelid was completely shut thus surgically lifted which caused me to have uneven eyelids). The thick bottle-cap glasses didn't help at all. It was one thing to have a disabilities, a whole other when you are physically attacked for your looks too. There was no escape either, because the teasing and abuse occurred at home as well as school. And people wonder why I have suicidal tendencies. 🙄 The thing that kept me from killing myself were pets. We always had a dog, cat, ducks, chickens or some other living being for me to care over. It was as if my parents knew the power of therapy that nonhuman animals provided for me. They never judged me fir my disabilities or looks, they only cared about that I cared and loved them... many of them lived twice as long than their species normally do. Had ducks over 15, dogs over 18, cats in their 20s too and a hamster that lived 5 years old when normally they live for only 2. They all arrived at home, never bought, as if they knew my home would care for them. To me, that is true beauty.
