Bayleef is such a gem ❤️ people in the comments complaining how is this possible, well Greninja won against Sceptile and loss against Zard, and also let's not forget Swellow's thunder armor that made no sense. I think Bayleef winning is pretty baylievable (sorry for the pun)
Swellow thunder armour was the Guts ability. Bayleef may have used brick break or any physical move since houndoom is specially defensive not physically
IMO Ash should've withdrew Bayleef and then send Charizard out that way when Charizard fainted, Blaziken was weak and Bayley could've beaten Blaziken with a Bodyslam! YES💛☀️💫YES💛☀️💫YES💛☀️💫

Type isn't everything, you also have level. Bayleef must have been a much higher level than Houndoom, but a much lower level than Blastoise
Typing alone does not make the difference, stats and nature also play a role.
