This emulation system is great, thanks for the great review WG. I'm getting mine by the end of the month, and I'm thinking of upgrading the latest firmware can't wait to play gb, gbc and gba games on this retro console.
I am curious, is the GBA system not as popular as I thought it was?
Almost no one ever tests GBA games, even though I find them to be the most fun games of all the previous systems (and they happen to have decent 2D graphics).

I connect my rg300 to the PC, select storage... But there is no folder or connection on the PC? Or do I have to make another setting? Hope someone has a tip for me Thank you 🙂

I updated to v2 a few days ago (rg300 ips, used type 5b img), the weird thing is when opening the screen from suspend, there are broken lines and flickering on my screen. I'm afraid that it may mess up my lcd. Aaaand my roms folder just got deleted from my ext sd. Also I can't find any help on how to upgrade descent to registered ver.
Is there a Gameboy and Gameboy Advance emulator in this upgrade?
@Marsettic I was on cfw before. Its workinh fine on v2 except for the suspend lcd issue. But yeah maybe I need to reflash v2. Might have something to do with the driver as you said.
Is Over-clocking possible now ?
What I see yes, you can adjust emulator to certain Mhz. (correct me if i'm wrong by the way)
@Marsettic on the LDK wen u ovrclock it you can tell the difference because the game that was struggling now played more better, But on the 300 even though you could over clock it, The game still had problems ?

I just watched this again. When you connect to the TV the game displays the word IFE in the top left corner. Is this meant to say LIFE? Does connecting to the TV remove some of the image??
So Retro Game 350 still preferred for PS1 games. I saw that Descent looked and played fairly well even with a dpad and buttons though.
They also mapped everything very good so playing this game....... memory lane !!

Is there somewhere to buy old games? I like the idea of playing games from when I was younger.
Maybe a better question. Do either of the console systems of today have a decent old school library? And is one system cheaper/better for retro type gaming than the others. I don't mean hacking or stealing games, I'm not smart enough to do either.
The last time I had a game console was 3DO, and have no clue what's around now.

Nice I havent touched my RG300 in awhile. Hope this new update brings it back alil bit. So wish I waited I coulda had a Pocket go 2 or the ips version of this sigh. Also check out the new clean android version patch for the Powkiddy x18! that handheld is the best for money me thinks if your willing to spend at least a hour or two of your time modding and config it to be good,
It totally breaks the latest version of PCSX4ALL from GameBlaBla, the new OPK installer for it.

What I understand of they did a lot of software tweaks to make it run better.
Also depends what version you have... best is to check the page for update what they changed out.
I can’t get MAME4all for this? Tried searching.
Google "MAME4ALL RetroFW" there should be a github link that comes up, click the right one. On the page it will show a range of emulators, click MAME4ALL. It will then redirect you to another page and then click the IPK version of the emulator. Then once done. Drag it inside your SD card then go on file explorer click the ipa and it will install the emulator on to said device, hope it helped.

BTW lad, I couldn't help but notice that this build doesn't have the gameboy or gameboy colour emulators yet but other than that, I quite like RetroFW 2.0. It seems faster and more fluid than 1.2 in terms of the interface and emulators.

@@TimelordUK Not that I could find. GBA but not GB or GBC.
@@STR82DVD Go to the RetroFW homepage. You'll find downloads for the GB/GBC emulator there. They're still packaged as IPK files however, so you'll need to run the installer. They should get repackaged as OPK files soon.

Better ps1 performance?
No, if it comes to PS1 emulation so far I understand it's more hardware problem.
RG350 is one of the first that runs PS1 good compared with all the other handhelds like LDK.
I'm still wishing for the option to play mp4 and vob video files on this device, especially now that it has TV out. It would be nice while traveling, to play movies on the TV in the hotel.

TheDorianTube gk 350h, its essentially the same thing as the LDK except it can emulate snes mame ps1 and everything else much better. I think all ps1 games will get near 60 fps.

No man it doesn't have any screen tearing issue from what I've seen. The only sad thing is it didn't come out with L2 and R2 buttons, if it did this would be one of the hottest handhelds atm.

That system is amazing i was just playing online minecraft on it with my friends and with other people it was a sword fighting match and all of the matches did not lag and i am watching youtube on it this is how im typing my comment oh yeah it plays mario oddesey and classic game the retro fw is super worth it buy it
@Marsettic My retro fw does have internet my friend did one of those firmware updates to it so its like android phone
@Marsettic Im serious i was playing minecraft and watching youtube on it my friend opened up my retro fw with a screw and put something in it and it was connected to my router and i downloaded minecraft and played a online match with no lag
@Marsettic Well need to tell you the whole story so one day i bought the retro fw then my friend came over we were playing mortal kombat 11 then he saw the retro fw he said how he learned how to mod things at first i thought he was lying so we went down to the basement then he said that he could put a android in a retro fw i saw him open up the retro fw then open the andriod phone so he removed everything from the retro fw and threw it in the garbage and putted some parts of the andriod phone in the shell of the retro fw like i saw like parts of an android phone so when he said he was done i took the retro fw and it was like a andriod so i downloaded games on the retro fw from the playstore and some snes emulators and i downloaded mine craft and youtube and thats how i am watching youtube on a retro fw so the end i explained finally it took so long i am kinda of busy thats why i could not explain well have a good night

Impossible on hardware like this, only powerful machines with android can do this.
Maybe the MQOI i7s ... only that handheld cost around 350 euro.
AV out at last!!!! This is why I bought it in the first place. What you didn't show is how does it play PlayStation games now? Is Decapattack playable now or are the buttons still mapped wrong on the megadrive emulator?

Updated my rg300, but my update comes only with settings tab, no apps, emus and ports, it seems they should be installed separately over the base image....
@@S1eepy1 it's like santa claus gives you your gift and you have to not touch it.
@@S1eepy1 copy these github.com/retrofw/firmware/releases/tag/StarterPack2.0 and launch them with your console. it will install them
use win32diskimager to copy the .img file (inside the retrofw_v2.0 file) in your sd card below the battery (it will erase all your datas and install the firmware)
