I freaking love this character. Douglas is okay, but Denholm is absolutely hilarious every instant of his screen time. Is Chris Morris like this with a lot of his performances?
@@nthgth I yhink Denholm has an advantage over Douglas because Douglas was a lot more prominent in the plot whereas Denholm showed up for a scene and then was gone, so they had to make his scenes stand out as much as possible. At least that's what I think.

The "I declare war" scene (and later Are you sure?!!), the Project Icarus party, even the opening scene of the show's non-smiling "hahahaha, now then." Iconic to the show to me, and only Denholm could do it!
Matt Berry is great as Douglas, lots of funny moments, wish they'd kept them both on. Having to choose one, though, I'd pick Denholm every time. His character is just funnier to me, every line

I think part of the reason the show was so good was because the characters were just exaggerations of themselves.

When I was in school for funnily enough IT, we had a vending machine that took cards. Only thing was it didn't actually charge you because it wasn't connected to the Internet. The owner had to use the data to charge it. I would buy a couple snacks using an old card. About a week later it wouldn't accept cards lol
No. Never. In a place like that it would never, ever sell. IT people chase empty carbs. The lack of obesity in this show is the main divergence from reality.

@Zedrik Allen here in Poland there are fruits and vegetables in vending machines. Not everywhere but there are. And machines are cooled so they stay fresh for a week or so.
I haven't worked in many places with vending machines, but in my (American) experience they come restock them (and remove money and expired items) like every 6 months. That wouldn't work for any fruits or veggies, refrigerated or not lol

Obviously it wont work on vending machines from 2006 when this was filmed, but nowadays you certainly can do it. He is basically running tests to see if the commands are working properly, he is not actually stealing anything.

It never ceases to amaze me how this show was actually shot in the 2000's and it looks every bit like it was filmed in the 80's. As wildly popular as the show became, they never spent a penny on improving their equipment. 😂
