How Oppenheimer Destroyed The World… (*RECREATED NUKE*)

  • J. Robert Oppenheimer, a towering figure in the realm of science and innovation, played an instrumental role in the Manhattan Project, an unprecedented scientific and engineering endeavor during World War II. As the project's scientific director, Oppenheimer's leadership and intellect were pivotal in bringing together the brightest minds of the time to develop the world's first atomic bomb. His deep understanding of theoretical physics, coupled with his remarkable organizational skills, allowed him to guide the project towards success despite immense challenges.
Oppenheimer's involvement in the Manhattan Project was marked by a convergence of scientific brilliance and ethical complexity. His vision extended beyond the scientific realm, as he recognized the project's potential to alter the course of history. While he embraced the significance of harnessing atomic energy for national security, Oppenheimer was also acutely aware of the devastating power of the bomb. This duality led him to grapple with the moral implications of his work, and he famously quoted the Bhagavad Gita, stating, "I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds," reflecting his profound awareness of the destructive potential he had unleashed.
The Manhattan Project brought Oppenheimer into a dynamic environment where collaboration and secrecy intersected. He successfully managed a diverse group of scientists, engineers, and technicians who collectively worked towards the creation of the atomic bomb. Under his guidance, laboratories like Los Alamos became hubs of innovation, fostering groundbreaking discoveries in nuclear physics, chemistry, and engineering. Oppenheimer's ability to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications was instrumental in turning abstract ideas into tangible results.
Following the successful development of the atomic bomb, the device was used in the pacific. Witnessing the catastrophic consequences of his creation spurred him to become an advocate for international cooperation and arms control. Despite his contributions to the Manhattan Project, his opposition to the development of the hydrogen bomb led to his security clearance being revoked during the Cold War. Nonetheless, Oppenheimer's legacy endures as a symbol of the ethical dilemmas faced by scientists working on groundbreaking and potentially devastating technologies.
His story was later turned into a biographical film, directed by Christopher Nolan.

Many people judged Truman harshly for the decision to use the Atom bombs. But here's a little perspective: when planning the invasion of the main Japanese island (Operation Downfall), military officials estimated anywhere up to 12 million Japanese casualties would have to occur before they finally surrendered, as Hirohito rallied all his citizens to fight; an additional 500k US casualties on top of that. 200k civilians tragically had to be targeted, but all of the rest Japan was spared from legit total war on the island as a result. It's a moral dilemma I pray no leader ever has to make again.

Great story... Except Japan had already attempted to surrender.. They knew allies' would take heavy casualties if they invaded the mainland, so they were trying to negotiate better surrender terms. Truman wanted an unconditional surrender and the General's wanted to test their new bomb.... It wasn't some moral dilemma B.S. to save 12 million Japanese lives. Only 4,000 German civils died when we invaded Berlin.. They knew the civilian death toll would be way higher droping nukes, but didn't give a fuck. Japan was f'n brutal during WW2 and killed 20 million Chinese alone.

Even if those numbers are true that doesn't excuse the murder of innocent people. Soldiers choose to do the job, explicitly targeting civilians is a war crime. Intentionally hitting a target knowing civilians will die is a war crime.
It is never right to kill civilians no matter how terrible their government is, especially if the live under authoritarian regimes(they probably hate their gov as much as you do)

It would be amazing to hear someone talk about James Stogner, a severely underappreciated Vietnam war vet that killed multiple NVA using just his kabar, even going on a solo mission to save his friend who was captured and being tortured. (of which was all done at the age of 18, war is hell.)

A true legend who had no business being there in the first place, same with every other American who either died or went thru hell that lasted a lifetime afterwards. My uncle served and was subjected to more agent orange than any human being should, and paid the price for it after coming home to a nation that viewed him as a head case instead of a wounded veteran.
So I’m all for a Stogner video so long as any video involving him also discusses the lies and manipulation that led us in to that nonsensical war in the first place.

To be clear, I'm not knocking the use of the bomb. I agree with it's use. I was just clarifying who it was. Who first approved, or as was stated, put on the table, the making of the bomb. For the US.

0:56 Dr. Hahn was a chemist, not a physicist. Hence his Nobel prize in chemistry. In fact fission was coined first by the two physicists Hahn worked with in 39 in a paper the previous year published by them, Dr Frisch and Meitner, was inspired by cel division in biology called binary fission. It’s more a fact of historical sexism that many don’t know Dr Meitner. She was a titan but being both Jewish and a woman at the time of the major breakthrough even being responsible for the very concept, she was shunned the Nobel. Didn’t help she also vehemently refused to be party to the weaponization The discovery she made with her nephew who was also a renown physicist.

Shame that Lise Meitner gets so little acknowledgment and attention. Einstein and many of her colleagues thought she was an absolute genius, a really special mind … She should have received the Noble together with Hahn. Her close working relationship and friendship with Hahn is also rather fascinating. Two great minds coming together…

THESE ARE OUTSTANDING !!! just a heads up, the plane that dropped the bombs on Japan were
B-29s .. not B-28 Now that Im finished being a Karen. Id love to see a Carlos Hathcock video. Or maybe a series of significant military battles or operations.

Problem is no-one on B20 can agree on what actually happened. Andy McNab and Chris Ryan tell conflicting stories. Michael Asher (SAS) retraced their steps and concluded it was all bullshit. His documentary is on YT called The Real B20. Peter Ratcliffe the SAS Regimental Sergeant Major questioned their versions which were never mentioned in the debrief, saying at the rate they claimed to be killing Iraqis the war would have been over in a week.
