- Picked up my new Burberry Trench on Oct 26, 2016 at Holt Renfrew Vancouver. Trench: Sandringham Mid Length size 50 (I mentioned size 52 in the video but this is incorrect)
Purchase price of ~$2300 CDN in Oct 2016
Its so refreshing to watch a straight guy vlog designer i.e. Burberry. I usually will notice mostly gay guys vlogging luxury hauls.
I love your smile when you tried it on! Such a good wardrobe staple!
This is the nicest I've seen a trench look on a guy! You're working this coat!...The fit is absolutely perfect! pure class.
I think it is pretty hard to look bad in a burberry trenchcoat. It would be stupid to buy a trenchcoat for 2k€ that which doesnt fit properly
Look up one dapper street. He wears trench coats well
They could have given you a nice wooden hanger with crest lol
alan jackson true 😀
That’s another £300, though.
Their hangers are just the same as Nordstroms actually
The Kensington Gabardine is their classiest one just make sure don’t wear it too fitted as these coats were not made for fitting necessarily but more for comfort over coats and try not to look too perfect as most north Americans tend to do but just relaxed not caring look makes it chic and makes you look that you are not trying too hard.
I'm going to do a post purchase review after a year. The coat has definitely loosened up as the Burberry associated had said it would. It no longer looks as fitted as it does in the video. Still cut very nicely on the body, but not tight or fitted. Takes some time after wearing it to form nicely.
Would it be possible if you could also comment on the length and color that you chose?
LOL, you've said that that like 7 months back, and have you done the review?
Burberry Trench coat is really awesome! Especially for the heritage series!
i tried i think the same one on at the Nordstrom at the mall of america and it fit perfectly. I asked for the price and had to put it back before they started charging me for wearing it. I might get one when i get my tax returns thougj
you shouldn't button the bottom button...
Yeah that was a rookie mistake. I never do.
@Brother Love unbuttoned looks better, it is more comfortable and just because of tradition. Many reasons as you see
PaddyH3 yeah I wear my unbuttoned it looks less creepy lol
Smh 🤦♂️ when i saw that button. Novice fashonist
How's it holding up after 3 years?
This is indeed my dream trench coat & at whatever cost I will get it.
Same
Classic piece... Enjoy! I went with Aquascutum instead of Burberry, will last you a lifetime.
Im so god damn annoyed they discontinued the Wiltshire. For me, raglan sleeves are a huge part of what makes the Trench iconic. Getting rid of the raglan shoulders is like getting rid of the belt or the collar. Theres a place for the modern hybrids but I wish they kept the classic in the line up. The Westminster is still around but that cut really doesn't flatter anyone.
Interesting... I never did see the Wiltshire or the Westminster. Perhaps before this time.
Disinf3ctant Get an Aquascutum one. The corby has a very iconic style and it costs half as much as the Burberry one.
DUDE!!!! Worth every single penny. Love your house by the way. So clean and organized. You should do a tour video of your house. Over all it was an amazing video, I have enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing with us, much Obliged!
Looks great and fits perfect over a shirt. Just hope you don't plan to layer it over a jacket, because it will be too small.
Thanks. Fits fine even with a zip up sweater on. No problems.
@@SportsCentreLo in which places found this trench cost Chicago New York when to some store not carrying. And the prices love waterproof
I just ordered the same coat but in black and a Burberry scarf I’m so excited for it to arrive
This is an old vid but for anyone looking at the comments, trench coats are supposed to be loose and a bit oversized. Technically, you can wear them however you want. More power to you. But, the point is to get a large one so that you can wear it over suit jackets etc. And when they were invented, it was for military purposes and they were always oversized. Best to avoid tight fitting ones like this as a man.
If you're 5'10 and above, and you can afford it, get more than one. I have overcoats made to fit over suits and other jackets as well as body overcoats that fit over a thick sweater. If you're an especially skinny guy, big shoulderpads can make the neck look skinny and a loose waist can make narrow shoulders look narrower. I have a double breasted overcoat that fits like a slightly loose bodycoat in a heavy black melton with a mouton collar. Straight plaquet rather than diverging buttons and a wide lapel. Looks amazing with a turtleneck, brown cords, black leather Chelsea boots and a nice silk scarf.
very nice, fits you well- this would be in the class of police/detective style trench coats- a bit on the fancy side but the coat is above the knees which allows you to run after suspects. I have a long trench coat and an above the knee police trench coat which is very plain and has covered buttons and no straps, that way it don't get caught on things.
Amazing trenchcoat. And for the better fit and looks dont button the bottom.
Getting this in the next couple of weeks the black one though shits premium af
Sweet jacket bro it looks fantastic on u !
Congrats. Great video. Not long..... straight to the point. 5/5 stars
You look 10x more wealthier with that suit on for sure
Very nice trenchcoat!
Maybe you’ll also get one that is over the knees length classic 60-70s
All you need is a fedora and you become the typical suspicious man.
Very cool very James Bond, very sexy. you’ll never regret buying a Burberry trench coat. it’s worth every penny
I don't think you're supposed to button the flaps back like that, to the double breasted buttons. They are for button closing the coat only.
I have this same coat. It's my current fave. I just ordered the Westminster Heritage in black (longer version). I hope I love it as much as this one.
It looks uncomfortable. A tight fit may be flattering but I wouldn’t be comfortable wearing something that tight, and wouldn’t reach for it. Looks nice though.
That's what I thought too at first, having tried it on for the first time at the store. We're just not used to a properly fitted jacket. Having worn it many times now it's not uncomfortable at all, even with a mid to light sweater underneath. The coat is a treated cotton material so it does stretch out, adding more mobility and comfort.
Sorry dude, it’s way too tight. You should be able to wear a trench coat over a suit jacket or sport coat. Yours looks stretched over just a shirt. Trench coats are not meant to be “slim fit”.
You’re a man of good taste
You look so happy in it!
I' m 1.70 l and i wanna buy this trench coat but the long model of this, witch size I must take?
Thanks!
I can tell from your face that how much you like it. I have a black color one. :)
Great purchase buddy congratulations fits you like a glove.... I'm deeply thinking about getting one for myself
Thanks! I will say this. It's a timeless piece. Having wanted one since 2010, I regret not getting it earlier so I could have worn it earlier in life (ie would have started in my mid 20s). I'm happy that got one now. Better late than never. :)
@@SportsCentreLo Can you tell me which model that is? :) Looks pretty cool...
@@ka9360this is the Sandringham mid length trench cost. I'm not sure they sell this model anymore it's been years now.
@@SportsCentreLo very kind of you! Thx...
Beautiful……… my Stocks growing. Thanx for buying 👍🏻👏🏻😊
How is "your stock" growing?? Not sure what you're referring to.
Tony Insua ... sorry i meant my shares of Burberry.
Burberry is ruined by Ricardo Tisci now. Nice to see you got one before then. Looks great.
It looks great on you!
The Burberry trench really fits you. I really like it.
Great vid!!I loved my burberry sandringham, very nice coat.worth every penny!
Hey Tony, I just bought my Burberry trench and have been having issues with the arms being a little tight. Yours looks similar to mine where it is a little snug in the shoulders and arms (hard to fold arms). Have you had any issues over time with this? Thanks!
Hey, not sure if the Burberry associate mentioned to you but the coat does expand over time and I found that to be the case. I wore inner layers (hoodie or jacket) undernearh to keep warm and found over time the arms and waist, shoulders expanded a bit. Now it fits perfectly. No issues for me. Just make sure you get the right size though. It only expands so much.
Hello Tony Insua, this trench coat looks really good on you !
I am also willing to buy one mid-lenght burberry's trench coat but i don't if it will suit on me ( i am 1 meter 77= 5,8 feet)
That's why i wanted to know how tall are you ?
Thanks in advance for your answer :)
I'm 5'11". Talk to the Burberry associate. They will help you with what length you should get as a recommendation. Thanks for the comment.
Nice purchase, very Bond-esqe. I'm jealous dude.
You’re very handsome. That coat looks great on you. 😊
Thank you for your reply . but it corresponds to a size 50 UK or US thank you?
Beautiful coat. Does the Sandringham trench coat (the model in the video) fit better than the Kensington trench? There is also the Chelsea one, which shoud have the slimmest fit? Not sure which model or colour I should take. Choosing between navy or black. Black is classic, but i don't want to look too formal. Normally wear dark denim jeans. Any ideas/input from anyone?
At the time of this video, the Sandringham was the slimmest fit. Today, this may not be the case. Styles and fits change from year to year. Have to chat with the Burberry reps on the latest style.
i like dis color but da black one is more sleek on some 007 type shit
Lol that's true. Black is great colour. Sleek, mysterious in way. However, all brands have black trenchs. This colour is iconic. There's no mistaking this is burberry.
Ain't it tighter than classic that you wear over suits and shorter than usual trench coat?
This mid length trench feels like it's a modern look/fit. It was quite surprising to see how the trench stretch over time. It does not feel tighter over a suit.
Nice. I have one with black color.
That's awesome. In what style?
Tony Insua I bought a sandringham style which is fit better on me.
Just tried this on at Harry Rosen, the size 50 fit perfectly and I'm 5'8" and 140lbs. I work out though and have low body fat, so my shoulders and chest are bigger than people my weight.
Nice!
I'm a bit worried, someone sent me a 54 as a present as we speak. We're the same height, but I'm 20 pounds heavier... I hope the 54 will not be too big.
Keep in mind the coat will stretch out over time. If it's just a bit tight, I wouldn't worry too much. I could wear a fleece underneath this jacket now and not feel uncomfortable.
Beautiful!
Should have gotten the longer length. It also looks too fitted, but then again I realise this was 5 years ago and fashions have changed.
The coat stretched out - it's perfect, still going strong after 5 years. I think it's the perfect length for me (mid-length). It's too bad they don't sell the Sandringham anymore.
@@SportsCentreLo agreed, I think the fit looks best fitted. The length is also perfect.
Hello I wish what size fits the trench coat you wear ??
Thanks
Size 50.
way too tight any updates?
Fits perfectly. In fact it fits slightly loose on me without an under layer. I've said this before but it stretches out a few sizes.
@@SportsCentreLo have you bought any sweaters from Burberry? I was wondering how they run...
@@randyp9491 I've never bought a sweater from Burberry
Hi, you mentioned that the store ordered a brand new coat for you. Did you have any concerns buying the Coats they already had in store? I want to buy one next Month but im unsure now wheter to buy it from a store or online? Would be nice if you could reply. Ty
Hi, the department store (Holt Renfrew) ordered me a new coat because they didn't have my size in store. I have no issues with buying in store as long as the fit is right. That's what's important.
Very nice jacket man. I am 6'2 and 145 lbs, lanky body. Would you recommend this size for me? Size 50 is 40 in the USA?
Thanks!
I would think a size 50 would work well for your build but the burberry sales people would be able to size you up accordingly.
Tony Insua thanks!
you look so cool, mate!
Looks great on you
Very dashing indeed !!
Lovely Jacket but never button there flaps back in the middle as it's not designed to do that and looks stupid. The top of the flap yes not the middle, just wear it open.
Dude yeah right you're 5'11" 160 lbs? I'm 5'10" 160 and I'm a lot thinner than you! You're more like 180 lbs
hahah not sure if I should be offended. No lie, 5'11 and 160-163 lbs.
James Franco camera adds 10 lbs
Bone density bro.
I am 6'4'' and I weight 180lbs. I am not skinny, I am pretty athletic
It looks really cool :)
Very nice coat! 💯
Great vid- any plans for other brand reviews- Gucci/ Prada etc👍
let's just say not any man can wear this kind of coat and look good lol...
You must be fugly. Sorry dude.
It fits so perfect
Great clip but you've really got to put your camera on a tripod. I got ill just watching it.
Very nice!
How's the quality holding up? Going to buy one in a few weeks time after a lot of thought. Just looking for last minute reassurance it'll last for years to come.
Jack Finn I've been meaning to do a follow video on this. The trench is holding up great! The size has been prefect. It did stretch out a bit as the sales associate mentioned it would. It's all about the fit so make sure Burberry helps you with this. I get compliments all the time. And also give compliments too as you notice who's rocking a Burberry trench. Sort of like a rare club :) haha
i'm waitign for ther update video!
Did you end up getting one?
Yes sir, I bought a black Kensington, mid length, in size 48. My friends told me to go for honey but I feel more confident wearing all black - occasionally wearing a contrasting t shirt.
I'm very happy with it, I'm hoping it'll last for a minimum of 5 years and anything more will be a bonus. The assistant in the shop said it should last 20-30 years!
I'm just over 6ft and naturally skinny so the mid length is more of a 3/4 length reaching just above my knees. The only issue I have is it's a bit loose around the waste (I'm a 30inch waist and the coat is 32) but I wasn't going to sacrifice the practicality of the Kensington (room for tailoring/jumpers) by swapping for a Sandringham (merely t shirts)
I'm 22 now so maybe i'll beef up a bit over the next few years adding a few inches onto my waist.
Sorry for the long winded response I can be quite scrupulous!
That's awesome! I wish I had this when I was 22 years old. The trench just adds Swagger! Good luck with yours!
Does it fit true to size?
I recommend seeing the Burberry associate (like I had done) to get your true sizing. When I first tried it on, I actually thought that it was too tight/form fitting but the associated assured me that's how it's supposed to fit. It's crazy because we are so used to buying clothes that are too big for us. I'm so glad that I listened to the associated and did not size up 1. Best advice: listen to the associate, they know they're talking about!
What size suit do you wear? I'd like to get an idea of what size I might order
commandercool1983 This was a size 52. Did you get one?!
Got a 48 sandringham short. Feel like a million bucks in it!
Super nice man, may I know how much did it cost you?
Hugo Iván López Ramírez @ 2:45 he told its £160 ...
No, that's his weight lol
Burberry will set you back £1500
wow looks good trench for you .
How long did it take to stretch out
Took about one winter season when I added more insulating layers underneath.
Looking real good!
Thanks!
It looks good on you. I wanna get the Sandringham as well. Do you wear one size up than your suit size?
Best advice is to get sized properly in-store. If not, follow instructions on their sizing chart online.
This one locks good on you
i need one in nightblack
Thanks man!
A ghost helped you film this video ? Scared the shit out of me 😂
Thanks for the video, looks really good on you!
Why did you decide to buy from a non-Burberry store?
Nice! Did u try on the Kensington? If so, what made you choose between the two? I can't really tell the coats apart!
Yes I did try both and it was a tough decision! However, I went with the Sandringham because it fit slightly better. It's their narrowest / slimest cut trench and for my build and it works perfect. The arms are notably different as well as it's slightly more tapered than the Kengsington. Think of it like buying a suit. You want one that fits your body better.
what you should say is the size 52 is a LARGE
Is it though? The coats aren’t distinguished that way. I would think it’s closer to a medium.
You said size 52 in the video but size 50 in the description?
It's size 50 - I mispoke.
Thank you for your reply . but it corresponds to a size 50 UK or US or FR thank you?😉
SIze 50 UK
Need link to buy this coat shippable internationally
Looks good on you man , I have a question is it normal that my Burberry trench jacket goes down to almost my ankles ? Or is something wrong with that ???
tonelow5 If you’re inspector Gadget maybe
I know this is an old post, but the coat you describe is the correct length for a trench coat. It should also be loose enough for wearing a jacket under it.
I wonder how it would look on a straight man?
nice coat congrats
Thanks man!
Ralph Luray
When you wear Burberry the ladies cant get their hands off you.
It doesn’t fit correctly - looks odd.
Fits perfectly now. The coat stretches out 2 sizes over time.
hmmm i looking for a casual black long trench coat, any sugestions
Nope.
Too small. You need another shape. Too much fold marks on arms and shoulders.
Disagree - it's the perfect size. Plus, the coat stretches out 2 sizes up when you wear it enough. It definitely stretched out , just like the Sales Associated mentioned it would.
Is it accustomed to button in same side hole for trench coats? Looks kinda weird
Hmm I don't button them on the same side like in the video. You could, but not my style.
How tall are you?
5'11"
I’m 5’8” I don’t want it to be too long. 😔
Look perfect on you
Would love this if I could afford it. I'd save up, but unfortunately I need to pay off some remaining debt while saving for a move, and saving for a down payment on a car. Maybe I'll add my tax refund and holiday money-gifts to a savings for one of these.
8 months later - did buy one?
Hi dude, nice coat! Is this the short?
Thanks. This is the mid length. Talk to a Burberry associate for the best size for you. They know.
Where did you buy this?
Holt Renfrew Vancouver
it is a small dice for you friend, you have to return it or you have to lose weight
Is this coat slim fit🤷🏾♂️⁉️
Yes
hello is it a French or Italian size ?? thank you
Size 50 UK
