    I took my veitchii out of my cabinet and it is giving me the most beautiful, huge, long leaf it has in the 2 years I have had it. It is in my plant room in an orchid pot with sphagnum on top and humidity stays around 50-60%. Loving it and I was thinking of saling it before this.

    I like the hoya globulosa/ villosa fuzzy texture. Kind of like a big linearis. My favorite plant texture is my begonia kit kat. It has a nice soft texture, definitely worth a pet.

    The Alocasia Golden Bone, by far one of my easiest and most laid back Alocasia (also the only Alocasia I have in soil with drainage... she loves terracotta). I feel like this plant is highly underrated, and truly doesn't get enough love. When the new leaves come in and first unfurl, they feel velvety, but it's a different kind of velvety feeling than say like an Anthurium. As the leaf hardens off it loses that texture, and even though it's a dull shine, it's still soft. The dark green leaf with those bright minty veins just makes this plant a true visual delight.

    I have a lambs ear in a pot outside. It feels like a dog's ear. It's incredibly soft. I went back to the store to get more but they were sold out and I have not seen any since early April.

    I haven’t got a veitchii but really want one! The backs of their leaves remind me of my anthurium sagittatum! They’re veins are also sharp and I lovvveeee touching them!

    To me gloriosum and other "velvet" leaves feel like good quality drawing paper. I remember rubbing my cheek, when I was little, against my aunt's pastels drawing pad, it feels the same.

    In your videos all of your plats are amazing! I love your videos I love to put them on while I’m doing plant chores it feels like I’m doing them with a friend. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ To me they look like maranta’s do, those to me feel like suede not so much like velvet and that’s what leaves that look like that feel like to me.

    Hey charmaine, just an fyi, the timestamps aren't working properly because they aren't in order. I'm gonna watch this all the way through so it doesn't matter for me anyway!
    Texture is an important thing for me, it's why I love plants like the tortum, the gigas, the radicans, among other plants. I didn't expect the veitchii to be that rigid, it always looked like a boring plastic-y leaf for me until now. When you were holding the leaves of that hoya undulata it sounded very much ASMR. I would love to have a Serpens one day, the ridges and the dark leaf have an alien vibe similar to a cuprea. I don't have good luck with alocasia but I'm willing to risk it all for the scalprum. I hope they don't etiolate like the others have done for me, and that they aren't as fussy. I've touched a pallidiflorum in person but I'll be honest I was pretty let down. Maybe it was just the pallidiflorum I've held, but aside from being velvety it had no difference to the texture of other velvet anthurium like the crystallinum, and here I was thinking it would feel as smooth and glide off my hand like a silky necktie. But then I see you hold yours and I'm wondering if the one I touched was just an outlier. I still want them, but they dropped low on my wishlist because of that experience. Especially at the price they're being sold in my area. I can attest to the tortum being such a mood-booster because of the texture. They have a smooth buttery feel and a give to the leaves and the stem. Mine has risen from the grave and is now growing at a surprisingly average rate. I would be interested in seeing that video, the one about plants you don't own but think they have an interesting texture.

      @unplantparenthood  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much!! You’re always looking out for me and it’s so appreciated (I fixed the time stamps- I think?!)
      Also regarding the palli- I totally know what you mean. Honestly the texture for the palli is ALLL in the emergent leaf when it’s nice and soft. And it’s not so much the texture of the leaf, but the way it sort of melts into your hand as you stroke it (🤭🫢) and that’s moreso on a larger specimen.. so the smaller ones can be a bit underwhelming.

    • @you_gullible_fucc
      @you_gullible_fucc Рік тому

      @@unplantparenthood it is fixed, thank you! I agree that the palli still glides at the move of a hand beneath it, I did that "test" (because everybody does it with their pendent anthuriums) when I first touched it and it did feel nice and accurate to what I've imagined
