🌞 I have recently started my plant collection after 30 years with no plants. I don't know how I've survived without plants for so long. You are such an inspiration to my renewed obsession. Thank you so much for sharing your plants.
I love that so many stores are carrying so many options in the I door plants department! It feels like a scavenger hunt each time I go to a store that has them. I've always loved plants but never had anything other than cacti and pothos. But youtube has inspired me to begin a little (growing larger everyday) collection. It's so much fun!
My favourite genus has to be Philodendron or Hoya. I have more hoyas than philodendron but the micans is just my all time favourite plant of ever, and my verrucosum is giving me so much joy. I never knew a verrucosum could sunstress but lately with the spring sun the new leaves coming out have this bright red back that is sooo stunning
Hey Fern! Please don’t take this as a negative… I LOVE your videos. I just wanted to mention that I appreciate the little bloopers (example: chunky potty) mixed in with the plant knowledge. It feels more real, like I am just sitting talking with a friend. I would love more bloopers/real moments in your videos! Or maybe a whole bloopers video! Keep up the great work, Fern. 🌞🤍🪴
Philodendron are my FAVORITE genus by far!! 🌞☀️ so diverse and so fun! I cannot wait to collect as many as I can. Your collection is so beautiful and inspires me so much, I cannot wait for a verrucosum next or the SP silver or the El Choco Red like wow 🤤
Oh my gosh i had no idea philodendron had extrafloral nectaries! thank you for talking about this I've been wondering what those were on my micans and that's so helpful to know!!!
I’m team Philodendron + Anthurium + Hoya! But def Team Philo FIRST 🌿🌿🌿 your collection is absolutely gorgeous. You are an amazing plant mama and I love your content!
This comment will get flamed, because people now days are so pathetically easily offended, and they consistently confuse constructive criticism for being rude. But I couldn't care less what a bunch of halfwit strangers in a comment section think about my comments. And I feel it's good for your personal growth for you to be able to look at it how it is intended and not as someone attacking you. So, I've only watched about four or five of your vids so far, but am already extremely irritated with the infinitely repeated phrases, "I love them so much" and "I'm so obsessed with"... You tend to repeat several phrases over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over... See, it can be quite annoying. So I'd advise you to work on expanding your vocabulary, and to use a variety of phrases to make your points. Also, you might want to consider that once you've made a point, you do not need to keep making that same point over and over and over. It's already understood by anyone coming to this channel that you love your plants, or you wouldn't have so many, nor take the time to make vids about them. So there's no need to beleaguer the point. Find more constructive things to say about the plants, which might be helpful to those you aim to attract. This will be ultimately more beneficial to your growing your channel. Yes, the pun was intended. Lastly, and for the record, while I do like Philodendrons very much, I don't think they are as interesting as Anthuriums.
I'm new to your channel and really enjoy it. I'm plant obsessed as well!!! You mentioned Thrips... they have to be the worst! I had my first attack earlier in the year. They must of come in on my huge Philodendron Selloum. I'm glad they only attacked that plant. It's outside again for the summer but I'm treating it with a granular pesticide..
Hey Fern! Regarding the camposportoanum, I have some plants that get that “gritty” white substance when they sit in the area under my humidifier (kind of where the mist falls,) and I have sort of hard water. Just thought I would throw it out there in case you also have hard water and your campo is in a similar situation 😊
I am definitely team philodendron! I got my birkin before I went crazy on plants and he thrived through my neglect 🤣😬 they're so amazing I have micans, 2 pink princesses, rojo congo, baby prince of orange, big painted lady and some cuttings currently rooting; florida, white knight and silver sword also 🥰
☀️☀️☀️ I love your videos so much and especially those collection videos ❤️ my favorite Philodendron is also the verrucosum, it's the fluff for me. And I always watch til the end because I love the song 😄
Fern can you please start a playlist about how you got rid of thrips spider mites and gnats? You seem to have been through it all and saved yourself time and time again. I would love to see, this is what the plant looks like CURRENTLY INFESTED, and this is what I’m doing to fix it, and then update they’re all better. I feel like you are so down to earth you would do good video and explain well. I’d appreciate it so much.
Yes PLEASE!! Could we get a Thrip update video / what your experience was and all the treatment methods you tried, or any tips/tricks you have from dealing with them? :)
Your Tortum is sooo pretty !! I love their leaves, the way they come out is so creepy ! I got a baby one in soil 4 months ago that just did not want to do anything except from burning the future leaf while I could see it happening through the petiolar sheath). I decided to throw it in pon and a week later it pushed out a new leaf and a cataphyll (??) ! I think it may have had too much trouble getting it out of the petiolar sheath and produced a cataphyll to be sure it wouldn't get stuck or anything this time lol And to answer your question, my favourite genus is Alocasia, but Philodendron definitely is second ! ☀
🌞 Philodendron are the most satisfying plants to watch grow! Mine are constantly working on new leaves, and I celebrate each one like it's their first 🥹🥲
My favourite philodendron is my upright lemon lime. I bought it as a wee lad and started it in a 3.5” pot, then a 4” clay pot, and now a 6” clay pot and I’m in love with it. I’ve had it for just over a year, but the lemon lime leaves are so pretty as they get mature :)
I also love my mixed pot of trailing lemon lime, micans and brasil 🙃 it was inspired by Benji plant’s mixed pot but it is so pretty as it fills in more and more
My P. Fantasy is one of my all-time favorites also. It just keeps on getting new leaves and I just love looking at it. My P. pedatum and P. Camposportoanum and Ghost keep putting out new leaves also. I wish my Tortum would grow a little faster. Mine is such a slow grower. I would also like to see some new leaves on my Bob Cie. I just cut back on my Mayori since it keep growing like wild. I am struggling a little with my Serpens (don't know why) and I am waiting for my FL beauty to get more roots since I bought it as a cutting. Heck, most of my 125 plant collection is Philodendrons. I just love the genus.
🌞 I actually am following your lead on the moss poles, I'm also transferring my entire collection to clear pots so I'm waiting their arrival and will be putting everything on moss poles, the challenge will be keeping them moist so we will see! I love your squamiferum, I have a florida green that is in the "penis" club right now (I so know you know what I mean :'D !) and seeing a similar shape to how it will be in the future gets me so excited and happy :) I'm glad the McDowell is growing on you because those pillowy leaves are just amazing. It reminds me so much of the sp. silver so I'm somewhat surprised you love it and are a bit meh about the mcdowell! I'm very much a fan of heartleaf philodendron, as it would seem are you with the micans the brandi and the brasil! I don't have the brandi but I have the others and my micans leaves are climbing and rapidly sizing up! I also have the green and the neon heartleaves too and the neon is getting LARGE. Brandi is definitely on my wishlist (and var. heartleaf and var. micans) but they're very expensive and rare here still. I ramble, but love philos, thanks for the video!
Gorgeous collection! I love philodendron as well, since they are so hardy and resilient 🌞 I rescued a huge philodendron emerald green from a nursery. It had bacteria & fungus, but one year later she is thriving!! Also in my collection I have a hefty Congo Rojo - love the reds! But probably my favorite philodendron in my home is a collection of hanging baskets mounted to my shower door, with my trailing heartleaf philodendrons! We call it "the shower curtain" and it brings me so much joy 💚💚 omg sorry for the super long Comment! I'm just caught up in the philodendron love!

Loved seeing all your philodendron. They are my favorite too. I have Prince of Orange, McColly’s Finale, Black Cardinal, Brasil, Lemon Lime, Neon Cordatum, Golden Pothos and a Marble Queen. My super favorites are the Prince of Orange, McColly’s Finale and the Black Cardinal. I want a Dark Lord. I just love the shape and texture of their leaves. Thanks for the video. 💚🌿🪴🌱💚
I’m so thankful for your channel. The content that you put out and your personality is the best ☀️. The variety and for the most part the ease of growth with philodendrons is why I like them. So many different leaf shapes, color and characteristics to them.
Philodendrons are the best. Easy to grow and take care of for the most part and in my opinion have some of the most beautiful plants in that specific genus. My favorite in my collection; jungle boogie , melanochrysm, verrucosum, tortum , atabopoense, white knight :)
🌞🪴🫒 While I am also fully 📣 team philodendron🙌🏾, my favorite genera are probably 🤦🏾♀️🤭 begoniaceae👀 and marantaceae😱 - so clearly I’m a glutton for punishment 😅 That tape trick is no joke though - I dropped a terra cotta pot 😖 on my calathea orbifolia over the summer and used white first aid tape to repair three broken stems and a ripped leaf 😭🤦🏾♀️ Let me go back and say I’ve had this plant over a year and have killed off sooooo many leaves just trying to figure out what made it happy…. But not the taped stems/leaves! They’re STILL going strong, and those literal 🍃 angels don’t even have crispy edges 😅🤔😂
🌞🌞🌞🌞 I wish I could send you some Micans cuttings! Not only do I have a propagation box stuffed full of them (and they're very well-rooted!), but my mother plant also needs a haircut again. I've got Micans coming out of my ears, hahaha. I'm so glad that leaf on the Painted Lady stayed around! I've done that for several plants that had unstable leaves/etc. with a lot of success, so I'm glad I mentioned it to you. I got a tall Melanochrysum from April & UPT and it is definitely being a little sassy with me. So strange. I used to want a Florida Ghost, but now I want a Florida Beauty. 😍😍😍😍 I really want an El Choco Red, too. I've wanted a Philodendron Luxurians for a long time, but they're HTF, so an ECR would be amazing in the meantime. I need to make several moss poles but I keep putting it off! I got the same material, but I'm trying to find a good base to use to stick into the potting mix I make. 🌞🌞🌞🌞
Hi Fern, I'm from Thailand :). Following your VDO, nice content :). i love Philo also, especially red leaf type such el chocco red 🤟 Another one that you should have "Verrucosum Amazon Sunset" Waiting you review them 😍
I have all sorts of plants like philodendron, begonia, syngonium, calathea, pothos, anthuriumhoyas etc, but above of all, I looooooove florida ghost even though it takes up too much space. My Mcdowell’s too huge now and I don’t know what to do😂. I am also into raven zz, have three pots. I have water jasmine(wrightia)*4, orange jasmine*6 and arabian jasmine*3. I’m obssessed with jasmines that I have so many of them. My other plants all have white flowers but between those plants I have the mandevilla which has bright red flowers and it blooms like crazy. It’s spectacular.
🌞 Hi Fern OMG 😱 I didn’t realise you had so many philodendron plants until this video. Wow 🤩 they are all so beautiful and that Sp Silver what a stunner. Philodendrons are my favourite genus too and Hoya, but definitely Philodendron first but unfortunately I only own the Brazil. But that’s ok 👌 Many thanks for the vid. Tc xx
Great video! I also love philodendrons, and the great thing is new species are stil Boeing discovered or put on the market, like p. Delinksii or p. Columbianum
🌞 love these kinds of videos😃🥰 ur collection is beautiful 😍 I made one of these a little while ago I would absolutely love it if u could watch it and give Me any feedback and tips on the video fern? 😃☺ 🌞
Fern I just have to tell you how you just light up my screen 💖 I appreciate ALL your knowledge and excitement.. I give up on philodendron.. I have 10 orchids in bloom at this time but I cant keep those philo's alive. 😕
Have just discovered your videos - love them so far! I also am loving Philodendrons - have only 8 varieties now, but always on the look-out.......Do you answer questions? If so - I've recently been given a Philodendron crawler - haven't been able to find out what kind it is. It has very large (7" across), smooth, solid dark green leaves. I've put it on a pole, and it seems very happy - already grown a new leaf. Would love to know the species. Maybe you can help? Thank you so much - I'll continue to find your videos!
My silver sword is my fav plant🥰 I've propped in moss and leca with 100% success. I do have them in a 125g aquarium that I converted into a prop tank so the high humidity is prob a big factor in my success. I propped it to sell a few but I love them so much I can't let em go lol🤷♀️
🌞 I have several of the philodendron you have and I think my Splendid is my favorite and my micans , mamei, Brandi, and squamiferum are my top five. I love all of them so much but right now this is my list of my top five. Next month or two could change that. Lol
LOVE this video! went to see if you had a video on your philodendron collection because I am looking for inspiration for new plants, and luckily I found it☀️🌿☀️
That’s interesting about Philodendrons and the extra floral nectaries From my understanding ants farm pests . They eat their honeydew aka “poop” so if you see ants youv e got some pests. I’ve read Some can be symbiotic so maybe they are 🤷🏼♀️🙂
I assume that the last few philodendrons all get higher humidity to thrive. I would love to get other velvety philodendrons that don't need that much humidity. I only have a melanochrysum. Any you can recommend or do I simply need to invest in a cabinet or humidifyer. Would love to get a gloriosum, glorious, splenid or plowmanii. Will any of these do wo well enough without high humidity? I'm from a dryer part of South Africa. You keep on rockin, girl!
👁️ am sure the Jungle Boogie will pull through. The mother plant is one of my most hardy plants. 🤞🏻 She does like a bit more water than I had originally thought though...🤔 And Omg DEFINITELY keep that McDowell! They do get so gorgeous. 🤤 Plus they're on my Wishlist, although a lot of yours are. 🐒 You have an awesome collection beautiful! 👁️🌞💚
What was the substrate the Florida Ghost is potted in? Looks sort of like the bonsai soil I use which is a mix of pumice, lava rock, japanese akadama and perlite. Really good for drainage but dries out faster. IF thats what youre using, what is care and watering like for it?
It's my Favorite! It's my favorite. You're the most positive person. Odd to me how many times you mentioin a plant rotting or whatever. I don't have that experience here. You always seem able to bring them back, one way or another. Anyway, I liked the video. It's my favorite!
Gosh I’m totally a fan of philodendron for its diversity and ease. As of now I just have a selloum, silver sword, and cordatum but I can’t wait to grow my collection 🌞
😊 Fairly new to all this planty goodness so don’t have loads of plants yet, but I seem to be drawn to Syngonium and Philodendron! Love this video and can’t wait to get some of these in my collection. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Fern! Team Philodendron! Hey i got a hoya princess cutting like a month ago, been in water since I got it, zero roots so far. What am I doing wrong and what can I try? Thanks! Love these videos!
I love Philodendrons yet they hate me. I have two at the moment, both vines, and a dying silver sword... But I love hoya, epipremnum and all calathea things ;)
Great video! You recently talked me right into a painted lady but now I think I neeeed a verrucosum along with my wishlist El choco red. Firmly on team philodendron here! ❤❤
I am definitely team Philodendron. But my scindapsus and pothos are a close second and third. Love your collection. Can't wait until I have as many Philodendron as you❤❤
Little baby plants that were grown from wet sticks- how often do you water them? I wanna try growing from wet sticks but I’m too scared of messing up lol
😀 I'm here! I'm going to try the moss poles too, but curious about when they get repotted and they have climbed up the pole all of the roots will be tangled in the net and moss around the pole, so I'm guessing it would be chopping time. Doesn't seem like any other choice at that point?
☀️ love you collection so much, i am trying my best to get a cabinet going soon so i can start getting some humidity loving babies. i just got a bby splendid and currently have it in my terrarium. I am so excited for it!
Don't forget the Hoyas! They are cat safe. I have a poor australis that one of my British shorthairs nibbles now and then but thankfully he knows that's the one he can eat and leaves the rest of my plants alone ❤
Are you team Philodendron? 🥰
If team Hoya ever benches me, then yes
Yes 1000%
Absolutely yes
When I first got into houseplants, philodendrons were definitely #1. But now I'm leaning towards hoya.
I only have one philodendron, a birkin, and I love it. I'm more into pothos. I have 4 of them.
🌞 I have recently started my plant collection after 30 years with no plants. I don't know how I've survived without plants for so long. You are such an inspiration to my renewed obsession. Thank you so much for sharing your plants.

Philodendrons are the best. Easy to grow and take care of for the most part and in my opinion have some of the most beautiful plants in that specific genus. My favorite in my collection; jungle boogie , melanochrysm, verrucosum, tortum , atabopoense, white knight :)
I've grown to love philodendron so much. There are so many species and they're all so lovely ! Just got a squamiferum because you convinced me :') 🌞
I'm obsessed with philedendrons...and now with your channel thank you.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏x I'm learning so so much.
🌞 love your collection sm. Your verrucosum is amazing!! 😍 its so high on my wish list and the silver sword.
I love the beauty and diversity philodendron have 🌞☀️ love their color and leaf shape best plant by far
🌞🪴🫒
While I am also fully 📣 team philodendron🙌🏾, my favorite genera are probably 🤦🏾♀️🤭 begoniaceae👀 and marantaceae😱 - so clearly I’m a glutton for punishment 😅
That tape trick is no joke though - I dropped a terra cotta pot 😖 on my calathea orbifolia over the summer and used white first aid tape to repair three broken stems and a ripped leaf 😭🤦🏾♀️
Let me go back and say I’ve had this plant over a year and have killed off sooooo many leaves just trying to figure out what made it happy….
But not the taped stems/leaves! They’re STILL going strong, and those literal 🍃 angels don’t even have crispy edges 😅🤔😂
🌞🌞🌞🌞
I wish I could send you some Micans cuttings!
Following your VDO, nice content :).
i love Philo also, especially red leaf type such el chocco red 🤟
Another one that you should have "Verrucosum Amazon Sunset"
Waiting you review them 😍
I have all sorts of plants like philodendron, begonia, syngonium, calathea, pothos, anthuriumhoyas etc, but above of all, I looooooove florida ghost even though it takes up too much space.
🌞
Hi Fern
OMG 😱 I didn’t realise you had so many philodendron plants until this video. Wow 🤩 they are all so beautiful and that Sp Silver what a stunner. Philodendrons are my favourite genus too and Hoya, but definitely Philodendron first but unfortunately I only own the Brazil. But that’s ok 👌
Many thanks for the vid. Tc xx
Great video! I also love philodendrons, and the great thing is new species are stil Boeing discovered or put on the market, like p. Delinksii or p. Columbianum
🌞 love these kinds of videos😃🥰 ur collection is beautiful 😍
I made one of these a little while ago I would absolutely love it if u could watch it and give Me any feedback and tips on the video fern? 😃☺ 🌞
Love your videos and your plants ❣️.I plant some plants at my house too.I Al so have Philodendron.
This video is amazing. I'm definitely a philodendron person. I just bought a Gloriousum and I'm so happy, it's so beautiful! 🌞
🌞🌞 loved this video! It’s soo cool to see plants at all stages knowing that no plant is perfect 😊
🌞 Hi Fern! Love your videos!
Philodendron and epipremnums are my favs! I just bought an el choco red, seeing yours has influenced me, hahah.
I’m team alocasia but my philodendron collection is definitely growing. Just got the micans. I have the brazil, lemon lime, and heart leaf.
Thank you!!! I will be so excited when she grows 😃💚
☀️
I have problems with propagating my Hastanum too. Had to chop it all off in January. But spring is around the corner in Germany.
Okay if you had to pick, would you choose philo splendid or glorious? Battle of the hybrids!!! ☀️☀️☀️
🌞philo's are definitely my fave. Currently have 10 species of my total 45 plants. So that is quite a big %
Just came across your video. My favorites are philodendron’s and dieffenbachia’s I have several in each species ❤
You are quite literally the most beautiful human walking this earth, inside and out ✨🦋🌿🥰
🌞 Philodendrons are so, so beautiful! I hope to get my hands on more velvety leaves this year.
🌞 I love philodendron so much!!! Just acquired a silver sword. It hates me right now but I’m going to love it till it’s happy lol
I can’t believe you almost got rid of your McDowell! It’s one of my dreams 🤣❤️❤️❤️
Philodendron micans and philodendron melanochyrsum, although I don't have the melanochyrsum, its a dreamie.
I am definitely team Philodendron. But my scindapsus and pothos are a close second and third. Love your collection. Can't wait until I have as many Philodendron as you❤❤
☀️☀️ about to pick up my daughter from school but I’m watching until the last very minute 😂
Still could have watched even more! Love your infectious smile and enthusiasm!!! 🥰
I want to be team philodendron but they can be disrespectful 😩😩😩. They are so beautiful though.
🌞loveeee philodendrons but my melanochrysum doesn’t love me (,: going back to square one and rooting a chonk
🌞 philodendron is my favorite genus. I need a torum and a verrucosum
Little baby plants that were grown from wet sticks- how often do you water them? I wanna try growing from wet sticks but I’m too scared of messing up lol
I enjoyed about your philodendrons collection watching here in Tokyo Japan
Melanochrysum can be such a turd. I love the hybrids of it though. ☀️☀️☀️
Most definitely team philodendron. I wanna say last time I counted a few months ago, I had around 40. Lol
😀 I'm here! I'm going to try the moss poles too, but curious about when they get repotted and they have climbed up the pole all of the roots will be tangled in the net and moss around the pole, so I'm guessing it would be chopping time. Doesn't seem like any other choice at that point?
🌞 ☀️ 🌤 Love all of ur videos. You have such a beautiful collection. Thank u for sharing.
They are my favourites too. Its good to watch this video now, cuz a plant order just arrived with 4 philo. 😍
Excellent video. Lots of ideas to add to my collection. Thank you for sharing.
« This is my new thing: putting socks on my plants » 😂
I am not too keen on Philo but Monstera is my most favorite type of Aroids ever. Not the Adasonii type but the Deliciosa ones bring me so much joy.
Philodendron would be my favourites IF the thrips didnt love them so much =.=
🌞 I only have a Philodendron Pink Princess in my plant collection. Still enjoyed this video though 😊
Team Begonia/Hoya 🤩🤣🤪🌞
🌱
Hope you have a wonderful day
Any advice for trying to root a philodendron verrucosum? I'm thinking I may lose it 😭
Hi, two of mine are not unfurling, my heartleaf and prince of orange. I do have a humidifier in my plant room. I tried everything. Any tips?
