    I know that I am almost three years late, but I thank you for uploading this video and explaining the verb form so clearly! I have searched for info about the second verb form for a while because I didn't really understand what it changed or how you were supposed to pronounce verbs with it, but you made it so much easier and I will definetly continue to watch your other lessons as well. Thank you so much!

  • @JonasL2001

    I think it is a little exaggerated to say that the present tense changes totally when it comes to conjugation. The only noticable difference between the stems (when it comes to conjugation) is a change in the vowels of the prefix. For example:
    Basic stem (no. 1):
    دَرَسَ ، يَدرُسُ
    Here the present tense starts with "ya" (يَـ)
    vs.
    Derived stem (no. 2):
    دَرَّسَ ، يُدَرِّسُ
    Here the present starts with "yu" (يُـ)
    There are also some other vowel changes, but that's basically it, so the conjugations of the different stems are not identical but very very similar. E.g. prefixes and suffixes only differ in vowels.

    Verbs: the term of
    infinitive is far to arabic. so when you want to say "I want to write a
    book" you say "'uriydu 'aktabu kita'b" litterally: i want i
    write book, if you say "'uriydu yaktubu 'lkita'b" litterally "i
    want he writes a book" which is "i want him to write a book"
    because the actor of verb to do is third person singular. or you say "
    'uriydu 'an taktiybu
    kita'b" litterally "i want that scribing of book".
    Verb Wazns: verb wazns are
    shown in third person singular past tense
    Kataba = to
    write
    Kattaba= to make (one) write
    Ka:taba = write
    mutually
    ‘Aktaba = to dictate
    ‘Inkataba = to be
    written, its a nice wazn which you can easily use compared to other passive
    wazns.
    ‘Istaktaba = to
    work in terms of scribing
    ‘Iktataba = to
    work in writing
