I think Jack Ma wanted to say that computer can't create something, while people themselves created a computer and many other things. Computers can't create, cause they just don't need to worry about creating, cause they dont live the life in which they need something to be created. Computers just play the scenarios the people put into them, while people create scenarios themselves.
So in these meeting Jack Ma actually said many wise things, Elon btw seemed to have a lot of problems with constructing and expressing his thoughts
The problem is that computers absolutely can create things, just look at generative AI and LLMs (which now prompt themselves multiple times to establish a chain of thought). Computers aren't sentient and cannot make physical items like we can, of course, but given a goal state (e.g. "design a bicycle for elderly persons"), a computer can simulate, optimize, design, and then make a 3D model. As technology advances, it will be harder and harder to make the argument that computers are mere tools, as their capabilities through AI already rival that of many jobs (secretaries, programmers, etc.)
Jack Ma is a practical man, who got wealthy by starting the Amazon of China. He is not very smart. His only degree is a BA in English. So he absolutely has no idea what he's talking about here lol

So if someone brought up a point in the book, instead of talking about the book I would slightly and carefully change the talk from citing text to talking about the morality and certain things about the book and life that didn't require any knowledge of the actual book. I got a good grade that day and did better than most people in my class during our conversation
