Because eye witnesses are the most unreliable piece of evidence in many cases, although they are still used in some. Many innocent people went to prison for the sake of "eye witnesses". I was in my teens when I watched an old Henry Fonda movie..."The Wrong Man" - made in the 1940's, I think. What I came to realize is to "never believe everything you read and only half of what you see". An old cliche I learned very young.
I think that the alarm company should get an alert when the system is offline that could help to deture a would be intruder. The company should know if that area is in a power outage or not. I just think steps can be in place to stop this brutality from happening.
Most alarms are monitored by agencies in different states. It would be pretty hard for them to figure out where there was a power outage. And to look that up on every call would take too long
40:43 into the video, and I’m wanting to scream, “Have the two living victims pull him from a lineup!” They gotta be trying to make suspense for entertainment’s sake.
It's most probably they already know. People who do the worst crimes and for so long and keep getting away with it are successful because they manage to corrupt police.
It's possible, but it's been proven that eye witnesses can be unreliable. There have been witnesses that have identified a first responder as the suspect because they remember the face and make an unconscious leap. It's why many forces don't do a line up any more, it's too easily misdirected.
They must've talked to a local who made sure the narrator got the pronunciation correct in the opening when telling the name of the area Laplace, its not pronounced as it appears La-place but La- plass I literally grew up 30 minutes away so I would definitely know
A very strange set of events. The fingerprints dont match. Neither do palmprints. The elderly couple was not called to identify him. And yet, the detectives went ahead and 'arrested' him. And he co-operated. Something is not kosher here.
We always have had police that dont wanna do their jobs. A few rotten apples spoil the whole bunch. They choose to kill innocents and the "good ones" refuse to call out the actions of the bad ones. That makes them all bad if the ones who are "good" won't speak up
Keeps his guns in a safe. One loaded one not in no specific order so not only would he have to open the safe but hed have to inspect the gun before he even has it ready to use. Why even own a gun if you're not gonna be educated on how to use it properly? How stupid. Guys ALWAYS keep at least ONE holstered on you. You never know when you'll have to use it. Everyone thinks it's unnecessary till they're dead
He was actually very successful at stealing large amounts of money. Much better than most bank robberies….i heard he chose people who owned their own businesses and who were older. Most old business owners have cash they have pulled out of the business that has never had taxes paid
33:22 I just can't understand how anyone can formulate in their mind how it's ok to kill another human being, i know the say they are Psychopaths but does that mean that these people just think hey it's ok if i just want to kill somebody simply because i want to, i don't get it, i feel like if i ever got a thought like that in my head id think lord i need help let me go seek mental help before i do something very, very wrong, but they don't, they seem to think things that we look at as extremely repulsive is ok, ill never understand that having that way of thinking shouldn't be delt with by seeking mental help, sometimes i feel like these people have to be demon possessed and actually love evil that makes more sense than someone thinking killing another human being is ok, i have to say though that the way these cops handle this guy telling him they are investigating homicides of elderly people and the person stole a lot of money then asking the murder to come in and talk to them seems extremely ignorant bordering on being down right stupid, did they really think a guy that's been murdering elderly people or anyone is going to not try to run, that would mean if the murderer came in he's as stupid as they are.
I know this is why I quit watching stuff made or produced for television! I usually just watch individuals who have true crime channels to the story and not all the stupid dramatic music!
I agree but what a waste of time. As long as our laws are in favor of the criminal...crime will continue to get worse.
